“They won’t be there. I got confirmation my cousin won’t be able to make it,” Marissa answered quickly. “Besides, it will be just my brothers and us. A few of my mothers’ friends with their kids. But the three of us would just stick to ourselves.”

I frowned at that. “Is this your birthday party or your mother’s?”

She rolled her eyes. “I know but it doesn’t matter. As long as you two are there with me. That is all I want, the only gift I need.”

“Well, when you put it that way,” I answered her with a sigh.

She clapped her hands happily. “And bring a bathing suit. Just in case we decide to go for a swim.”

I shook my head. “I’ll bring it but there is no chance in hell I’d strip down to my bathing suit in front of a bunch of strangers.”

“We’ll push them all out the door,” Daphne suggested smiling. “And then we swim and the entire place is just for us.”

“That sounds better,” I agreed.

We clinked our glasses in agreement. “I found a smut novel that I want you ladies to give a try,” Marissa switched subjects to our favorite topic. “It is not our usual smut but we should give it a try.” At my frown, she immediately added, “A chance… we should give the book a chance.”

“What is it?”

“It is reverse harem,” she whispered in a sotto voce.

I laughed, but seeing her face, I realized she was serious. “I didn’t realize you liked those types of smut stories,” I murmured low.

“Me either,” Daphne added, slightly shocked… or impressed. “I like it.”

“I stumbled upon it,” Marissa replied in a whisper. “It is so naughty. And so hot.”

She actually blushed and I smiled.

“Okay, I’m game,” I told her and I must have surprised her. “I’ve decided I need to broaden my horizons a bit. I might even start dating soon,” I uttered and both of my girlfriends watched me with their mouths open. “What? Should I reconsider?”

“No, no,” Marissa quickly recovered. “I think that is great. Okay, I’m sending you both the link to the book in our group chat. We start tonight?”

All three of us giggled like little girls. “Gosh, I’ve never read that type of stuff,” Daphne blushed and I felt kind of hot too.

“Me either,” I admitted in a hushed tone, glancing over at Emma to ensure she couldn’t overhear us. “How many participants are usually in reverse harem?”

“Three guys or so and one girl,” Marissa answered in a low voice, glancing around as if she wanted to make sure we didn’t get caught.

“Oh my gosh,” I muttered. “What could you possibly do with three guys at once?”

“I think they would fill all our holes,” Daphne whispered through a giggle. “I better charge up my vibrator tonight,” she added in a husky voice.

“Damn it, Daphne,” I scolded her quietly, glancing at Emma again. “Don’t you be getting turned on before you even start reading. And besides, keep it off my couch.”

“We need to find boyfriends,” Marissa announced. “So we can get laid whenever.”

“I thought you got laid pretty much all the time, Mar,” I replied wryly. She certainly got laid more than anyone I knew. I, on the other hand, haven’t had sex in five years. I was practically a virgin again.

She replied on a deep exhale. “I don’t get laid as much as you think. And I swear, the guy that took my virginity ruined me for all the men after him. Nobody can quite give me the same pleasure.”

Both Daphne and I gave her a surprised look. “Who is the guy?” I asked her.

“Well, I kind of didn’t know who he was when I first slept with him,” she muttered, a slightly embarrassed look on her face.

I reached my hand and took hers. “You have nothing to be embarrassed about, Mar,” I assured her. “I certainly won’t judge you.”

“Me either,” Daphne added quickly.
