A'Mylo rubbed his hands together. "Oh damn, you look beautiful," he complimented me when he stepped inside the house.

His eyes traveled up and down my body, causing my cheeks to burn. I wished he wouldn't do that. It was like he had no shame in looking at me. The bad part about it was that I loved the way he looked at me. It made me feel as beautiful as he said I was.

"Thank you." I beamed, knowing I had him where I wanted him. "Are you ready to look around?" I twisted my body from side to side as I looked from him to the inside of the house. We stood in the foyer. "It has three bedrooms with two and a half bathrooms." I used my fingers to indicate how many.

He observed the empty house. It had brown tiles and white walls throughout it.

"Word." He nodded. "Take me to the kitchen. I need to see how much space it has."

My eyebrows shot up as I eyed him. "Oh, so you like to cook?"

He nodded with a smile. "Man, do I? I'm always cooking when I have a little downtime. My parents usually have Sunday dinner at my apartment, and I love to feed my family."

That was sweet of him. Most men I came across couldn't cook worth a damn. My father sure couldn't cook.

"Let's go check out the kitchen, then." I made sure I walked ahead of him to sway my hips a bit. "There is a big backyard in the back as well. We can use the kitchen door to look outside."

I felt A'Mylo's eyes on me, and I couldn't help but feel a warm sensation flowing through my body. Why was my body doing this to me? I shouldn't be feeling any feelings for this man or any other man.

"This is a big ass kitchen," he noted, looking around the place.

While A'Mylo checked out the space, I checked out him. He wore a blue jumpsuit with a logo on it. He turned and saw me watching him. I was unable to avert my eyes in time.

"You and your eyes are gonna get you in trouble," he warned.

I raised an eyebrow and placed my hand on my hip. "Oh yeah, how?"

"Hmm, keep looking at me how you are, and you'll find out."

I waved him off, dropping my hand from my hip. "I wasn't even looking at you. Let's finish touring at the house." I walked out of the kitchen, not saying anything else to him.

We continued the walkthrough of the house until we were standing in front of it again.

"How do you like it?" I asked when we walked out together, making sure I locked the house up before I left.

"It's straight. I want to look at the other houses I've marked before I agree on anything."

I nodded. "Fair enough. Do you have time to look at another one?"

He shook his head before shoving his hands in his pockets. "Nah. I have to head to work, but we can do something this afternoon. Let's say around five?"

"Okay, that's perfect. I'll have everything set up."

A'Mylo grinned. "Perfect. We will talk later." He walked back to his car, and I turned around to ensure the house was locked, so I wouldn't have to look at him.

After showing A'Mylo the house, I returned to work.

I had a mountain of paperwork to do. Then, to make matters worse, I received an alert on my iMac, informing me I had an urgent meeting with Theodore Smith.

I didn't know why since I was up to date on all of my work.

I didn't enjoy dealing with Theo much without Travis.

Theo was a hard man to please, and he expected his workers to be perfectionists.

I saw nothing wrong with that, but I worked to my full potential.

Although I could be better, I try my best. Plus, I was still one of their top sellers.

Perhaps that was what he wanted to discuss with me.

Thirty minutes later, I found myself in the conference room with Theo and two former clients. My eyebrow was knitted as I stared at everyone in the room. The clients had smiles on their faces. Could this be a good meeting? I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I ran my hand through my curls as I swallowed hard, preparing myself for what was to come.

"Good morning, Ms. Myles. Your clients, Mr. and Mrs. Calloway, want to show their gratitude to you for your assistance in helping them to find their new home."

Mrs. Calloway's eyes were misty as her lips trembled into a smile.

"We just want to say we thank you so much for helping us find our dream home.

We know we were a pain, but you stuck by us, making sure we got the right house for us.

And for that, we appreciate all that you did.

Also, we would like to invite you to our housewarming party. "

My chest felt like it was going to cave in as my eyes filled with tears. "I don't know what to say," I uttered in a quaking voice. My hands flew to my mouth as I stared wide-eyed at them. Were they being serious?

Mr. Calloway smiled. "You don't have to say anything right now. We just wanted to tell you thank you."

I nodded. "You're more than welcome."

When they left, I sat in the conference room, trying to pull myself together.

Theo walked them out. I thought the worst, yet I had gotten the best news ever.

I was grateful. This was why I loved my profession.

The door of the conference room reopened, and Theo stepped back in with a smile on his face.

"And this is why you're one of our top realtors. You get the job done with no complaints. Even if the job can be a pain, you don't complain. You do what's needed. And for that, Travis and I thank you. Be on the lookout for something in the mail." With that, he walked back out of the room.

My mouth fell open as tears of joy ran down my face. I covered my face with my hand and gave in to the ugly cry I desperately needed. I felt so much lighter and on top of the moon. I felt like nothing could ruin my day after the news I had just received.

Later that evening, I pulled into the driveway of the house I would show A'Mylo. His car was already in the driveway, so I hoped I hadn't kept him waiting long.

I stepped out of my car and closed my door behind me. A'Mylo was outside of his too.

"Wassup?" he greeted.

I smiled my greeting with a nod. "Let's get started." I was still on cloud nine after the day I had. "This property has three bedrooms, two baths with a dining and living room," I stated when I unlocked the door for us to enter.

"You already know I want to see how the kitchen looks," he voiced when we stepped inside the foyer.

The house had undergone extensive renovations, featuring newly installed wooden plank flooring in every room, replacing the carpeting. The walls had also been updated and finished in a soft, off-white color, giving the home a fresh and inviting atmosphere.

"Okay, I'll lead the way."

We stood by our cars after looking over another house. That one didn't take as long as the first one did. A'Mylo wasn't as interested in this house as he was in the first one. Maybe in the end, he'd agree to buy that one.

"Okay, so that's it for the day. I'll be in touch to say when I'll have the other houses available for you."

"What do you have planned for the rest of the night?" he asked, leaning against his car.

I frowned, wondering why he had asked that. "Nothing."

He smirked. "You do now. Let's go to Tito's and grab some drinks."

I shook my head. "No, I don't think that's a good idea," I declined.

As much as I wanted to give in, it was best I didn't. A'Mylo was a good-looking man and was a flirt. From the first time I laid eyes on him, my body hadn't been the same.

He smiled cockily. "I didn't ask."

I placed my hand on my hip and glared at him. "Well, I'm telling you."

He ran a hand across his jaw, smoothing down his beard. "You're saying all that without saying yes. It can't be that hard to say. If you have nothing to do, why not come chill with me?"

I nibbled on my bottom lip, wanting to give in to him.

"You can try to find reasons you don't want to go or can't go, but I'm not taking no for an answer. We can be here all night if that's what you want."

What would it hurt to have one drink with him? I had a feeling he'd keep me here all night if he had to. And that was something I didn't want, especially with it getting chilly. It was the middle of September, and the weather was changing overnight.

I sighed deeply. "Fine."

A'Mylo grinned with a nod. "Word. I'll meet you at Tito's then. If you try to take your ass home, don't forget I know where you work." He winked, turned, and climbed into his car.

I didn't even waste any time getting into my car and following behind him.

I had a feeling he would've shown up at my job if I had ditched him.

I didn't know how this was going to go, but I hoped for the best. A'Mylo seemed like a really nice guy, but what the hell was I doing?

Men were all nice at first until they showed their true colors.

Ten minutes later, I was parking my car next to his. A'Mylo drove like a bat out of hell, and I had trouble keeping up with him on the road.

Once he was out of his car, he came to mine and opened my car door for me.

"You sure drive fast," I declared when I was out of the car.

He laughed and closed my door. "My fault. I hate traffic in the evening. The cars act like they don't know what they want to do, so I show them." He reached for my hand, and I put it in his. "I hope this is okay."

"It's fine."

A'Mylo held the door open for me, and we walked inside the bar. Once he secured a table for us, we waited for a server to take our order. It didn't take long, and for that I was grateful.

"Why are you acting like you're shy?" A'Mylo asked, reaching for a napkin to wipe his mouth. "From the way you were swaying your hips earlier, you were trying to tell me something."

My hands covered my face as I groaned. "Oh my goshhh!"

He laughed. "I told you before. If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. You thought you were doing something, but I got your ass. It's all good. You have some nice hips." He playfully winked.
