The way he talked to me always turned me on and soaked my panties. That wasn't a good thing when he wanted me to meet his parents and brother. I tried telling him that I needed to talk to him about something, but he kept cutting me off.

"If you keep doing what you're doing, you're gonna have to clean me up."

He growled and smacked my butt, causing me to squirm. "When you say things like that, it makes me want to skip this and do you."

I giggled. "Have you told your parents we'd stop by?" He nodded. "Then, we're going to see them." I had to pull myself out of Mylo's arms. He was a temptation I'd give in to any time of the day.

I turned away from him, and I heard him grumbling something behind me. I paid it no attention. As much as I would like to skip out on meeting his parents and brother so we could make love, I knew it wasn't the right thing to do. I wanted to make a good first impression and had to do it right.

Without saying a word to him, I headed to my bedroom to retrieve my purse. If he were to follow me, all bets were off. I hadn't had any dick in two days and was in need of some.

"Okay, I'm ready," I stated when I reentered the living room.

A'Mylo wasn't in there, causing me to frown. Where did he go that fast? Then the bathroom door opened, and he emerged from it.

"Are you ready to go?" he inquired, walking over to me, dipping his head, and kissing my cheek out of habit.

I'd never tire of Mylo randomly touching or kissing me. I looked forward to it every time he did it.

"You're going to need your jacket too. It's chilly out there."

I nodded and pointed to my jacket on the coat rack near the door. "Oh, you don't have to tell me. I already know."

I went to put on my jacket, and he helped me. He was so thoughtful. Nya was a damn fool and had the nerve to try to warn me about my man. Every time I thought about it, fury flooded through me.

A'Mylo took a small step back away from me and frowned. "You good?"

I shook away the thoughts that came forth and focused my attention back on him. "Yeah, I'm good. Why do you ask?"

"You had this look in your eyes like you wanted to kill someone. I thought for a minute I had done something to you. I didn't, right?"

I cackled. "No, you didn't. I'm okay. Let's go." I reached for the doorknob only for him to slap my hand away.

"Your ass knows better."

I rolled my eyes skyward and backed away for him to open the door.

A'Mylo did the most for no reason. When I was with him, he wanted me to be his lady only, and I loved that.

He opened the door, and I walked out of it, waiting for him to lock the door for me.

He reached for my hand the minute we set foot on the porch, and we walked to his car in silence.

Once there, he held the door open for me, and I thanked him when I was in the car.

I appreciated how he waited until I had the seatbelt on before closing the door.

"What's your family like?" I asked when he was back in the car.

Mylo chuckled. "Crazy as hell. You'll love them, though. My parents always bicker with each other. It's the way they show their love. If my father were to yell out 'fuck you' to my moms, he really means I love you."

My mouth fell open as I covered my mouth to muffle my laughter. "They are my favorite kind of people. If I can't joke with you like that in a relationship, there is no need for us to be together."

I wouldn't say that all my past relationships were bad.

There were some good times. However, once I started to lose trust in them or felt like they were doing something behind my back, that was it.

I was quick to end a relationship. None of the men I was with treated me the way A'Mylo did.

The way this man made me feel, I didn't know if it was an explanation for my feelings, but I couldn't escape them.

I'd craved this type of feeling for so long, and the minute I had it, I wanted to keep it.

There was no way in hell I was going to ruin it.

"Nah, for real. I'm the same way. Just give me a reason to say that to you."

I waved him off with a sly grin on my face, wanting to see what he did. With every tree we passed, I wondered if we were heading to the countryside of Skyeville. It had been a while since I had been on this side of town. "Your parents live in the country?"

A'Mylo bobbed his head. "Yep. And they stay on a dirt road. I have to wash my car every time it rains if I come over here."

I chuckled with a shake of my head. "Jeez, I know that gets on your nerves."

"Nah, not really. Sometimes my car needs it."

He pulled into the yard of a two-story home.

A gasp slipped from my mouth as I stared with my eyes widened at the yellow and white house, with a white fence around it.

The trees that covered it were big with yellow and orange leaves.

There were also leaves on the ground, covering the grass. Two cars were in the yard.

"This house looks like it's straight out of a movie."

He chuckled and turned the car off. "Nah. They wish it were, but it's our family home. My grandma's parents used to live here. It's been passed down every generation."

"Hmm, so who will get it next? You or your brother?"

Mylo shrugged, turning the car off. "I don't want it, but it's mainly because I want my own house, which is why I sought out a realtor.

I love that house a lot, but it's not for me.

More than likely, Aaron doesn't want it either, but he can be indecisive about things like this.

Only time will tell. Are you ready to get out? "

I gave a short nod. It had been a while since I had met a man's family, so there was no telling how this would go, but I was ready to find out.

A'Mylo got out of the car and came around to open the door for me.

I gathered my purse and stepped out of the car.

He closed the door behind me and reached for my hand.

I easily placed it in his hands, and we made our way to the front porch of the house.

My heart throbbed in my chest as my palms grew sweaty, and nausea hit me tenfold.

This wasn't good at all. I hated meeting new people.

My nerves weren't good when it came to introductions.

I removed my hand from his and wiped it on my pants leg, which caused Mylo to look over at me. I only smiled and put my hand back in his, letting out a deep sigh. I could get through this.

With his free hand, he found the key he was looking for on his keychain and opened the door. He held it open for me to enter first, but I shook my head.

"No, you go in first."

He gawked at me. "Nah, ladies first, and you know that."

I scoffed. "We can make an exception today. Please go first. This is your family, and I'm new." I hoped like hell he wouldn't make me go first.

"Go ahead," A'Mylo sternly urged.

We'd be out here all day if he thought I'd be walking in first. He wanted to be stubborn. Well, I could too. Sometimes I couldn't stand his Taurus ways. As many times as he called me stubborn, he was just as bad as I was.

"Who the hell is that letting out my good heat?" I heard a deep baritone, causing me to nearly leap into A'Mylo's arms.

He laughed and wrapped his arms around my waist. "It's me, Pops. I'm getting ready to come in now." He tried shoving me inside the house, but I still didn't budge. "Man, why does your ass gotta be stubborn?" he snapped, glaring at me.

I glared and snapped back. "The same reason you are."

We wouldn't be getting anywhere with both of us acting this way. I didn't want to go in first, and he was set in his ways about certain shit. He got on my nerves real bad.

"Bring your ass in here, Mylo!" his dad yelled.

"I will as soon as this girl stops playing with me."

The ground could have opened and swallowed me whole right then and there.

I guess he felt when my body went limp. He used that time to push me inside the house and closed the door behind him.

This house was simply beautiful. The color scheme from outside was followed inside, with a touch of green and blue added.

His parents were in the living room with the TV blasting.

His parents' house reminded me of being at my grandma's house.

They had a lot of family pictures on the wall with plants.

The living room was connected to the dining room with a kitchen off to the side.

From the living room, I could see pots on the stove.

The air was filled with the scent of baked goods.

Was his mother a baker or something? A'Mylo was the spitting image of his parents, but I saw what he meant when he said he and his father could be twins. I saw Ni'Asia in his father, too.

"Looka here. Who's this cutie?" Mylo's mother asked with a smile on her face.

I beamed. "Hi. I'm Leighton."

Just from her friendly smile, I felt right at home. She got up from the couch and walked over to me.

"Hey, there, Leighton. I'm Brandy, but you can call me Mama Bee. I'm a hugger. May I have a hug?"

"Oh, sure." I went in and gave her a big hug. I instantly liked this woman.

"Move out of the way, Bee. Let me hug her, too," his father insisted.

I chuckled and stepped aside to hug him, too.

"Hey there, pretty lady. I'm Allen, but you can call me Big Al."

I laughed as A'Mylo dropped his head to his chest.

"Don't call him that. He's already conceited enough," Mama Bee stated. "Let's have a seat. Do you want anything to drink or eat?"

I shook my head. "No, ma'am. Thank you."

A'Mylo and I took a seat on the couch, and he grasped my hand in his. I squeezed it and let out a deep sigh, relaxing completely.

"Leighton—you have a beautiful name." Mama Bee smiled. "What is it that you do? It's been a while since my boy brought home a woman."

I looked over at A'Mylo, seeing him drop his head.

"I'm a realtor. A'Mylo and I met when he came to my job looking for someone to help him find a house. I'm his realtor."

"Oh?" Mama Bee and Al said at the same time.

I beamed. "Yes."

"I don't see how you love your job. That has to be a headache," Mama Bee voiced.

I chuckled. "Sometimes it can be, but I love it."

Mama Bee folded her legs and smiled. "I remembered when I first started baking. It was like a calling I answered. Since then, I baked, baked, and baked."

"And got on my nerves with different types of pies, cakes, and bread all over my house," Al retorted.

I burst out laughing. He didn't care what he said. Mama Bee only scolded him and continued talking.

"As much as I wanted to open a business that wasn't my home, I didn't. Still, I enjoyed baking. I made some good money off of it, too."

I heard the sadness in her voice and wondered why she no longer did it.

"Why did you stop?"

"I didn't completely, but I slowed down. It got too demanding."

I inclined my head. "Ahh, that's understandable."

Mama Bee had a proud smile on her face as she talked about her boys. "We don't have to work anymore, but we still do. Our boys take such good care of us. As much as I wanted a girl, God saw fit to give me two boys."

"And I'm glad. I'm damned sure wasn't going to put up with your mood swings for a third time during your pregnancy," Mr. Allen retorted, causing me to burst out laughing.

He had been on her head since we got here. They were great together. If two peas were in a pod, it would be them.

A door opened and closed, and then footsteps were heard approaching the living room.

From the looks of the man who stood in the living room, I guess he was Aaron. "I hope I'm not too late. Time got away from me."

Mama Bee waved him off with her lips curled up. "Yeah, yeah. That's what you always say. It's good to see you, baby boy."

Aaron went over to hug his mother and kiss her on the cheek. He then went to his father and A'Mylo and gave them some dap. He turned his attention to me, and I gulped. His eyes were as intense as A'Mylo's.

"And who might this beautiful woman be?" he asked, looking me up and down.

A'Mylo moved closer to me and touched my thigh. "If you want your eyes, brother, I suggest you find something safe to look at. Keep it up and watch what happens to you."

This was my first time seeing A'Mylo possessive like this. Could he always be like this, or was this just for his brother's sake?

"Let the woman speak for herself. What's your name, beautiful?" Aaron asked me.

As I looked from him to A'Mylo, I wasn't sure whether to tell him my name or not.

"It's Leighton."

Aaron smiled, showing pure white teeth. "A beautiful name for a beautiful woman."

A'Mylo stood up. "You got one more time."

Aaron laughed and backed away. "You already know that when I see a beautiful woman, I like to tell them how good they look. I could take it a step further."

"And get your teeth knocked down your throat," A'Mylo warned.

I bowed my head to my chest, not knowing what to do or say in this situation. Aaron only laughed at his brother.

Aaron took a seat. "My bad, brother. I'll stop while I have the chance. I don't need you beating my ass."

"Do you want anything to drink or eat?" Mama Bee asked him.

He shook his head. "Nah. I had just eaten before I came. Wassup with y'all?" he asked his parents.

"Ain't nothing going on with us. I tried getting your father to take me to the flea market, but?—"

"We don't have money to spend..." Al interjected with a smile.

Aaron shook his head. "Just cheap."

Al laughed. "I'll be that."

I could admit I enjoyed A'Mylo's family a lot, especially his mother and father. I saw what he meant in the way they talked to each other. I found myself laughing loudly at some things they'd say to one another.

"It was nice meeting you all," I expressed to A'Mylo's parents and his brother when we got ready to go.

Mama Bee hugged me. "It was nice meeting you, too. Make sure you come back and see us."

I beamed happily. "I'll make sure that I do. Y'all take care."

"See you!" Aaron and Al recited in unison.

By the time we got back to the car, my heart burst with happiness.

"I like your family, A'Mylo," I admitted as we cruised down the highway heading back toward home.

"Good. I'm happy you do. They like you, too. What's your family like?"

I laughed and shrugged. "If only I knew. I don't talk to my family much, and we don't have that type of bond you have with your family. However, I want to change that with all of them. I just have to take it one step at a time."

Mylo reached out and rubbed my thigh. "And you will, baby. I believe that, and when you do make that step wanting to be in their life, I'll be there with you."

I had no doubt that he would be. Covering my hand over his, I squeezed it and looked over at him, sending him a smile. He winked and focused his attention on the road.
