"Yes!" I blurted in my mind, but somehow it passed my lips too. I pressed them together and reached for the strawberry margarita I had ordered, taking a long sip. That hit the spot and was much-needed.

He snickered. "I thought for sure you were about to give me lip."

I chuckled. "If I hadn't blurted that out the way that I did, I would've. It wasn't supposed to come out like that."

He laughed. "Yeah, okay, as if I were going to accept that."

I smirked, knowing he wouldn't. Since I met this man, he has been demanding my attention. He tempted me in a way I'd never been tempted before. No matter how much I tried to play hard to get, I couldn't hide from the way he made me feel.

I got up from the table with my drink in my hand. I smiled at my friends as they gazed at me with their mouths agape and eyes wide. "I'll talk to you ladies later."

A'Mylo held out his hand for me to take, and I placed my hand in his.

"Let's go search for a table. Hopefully, we can find one."

Hand in hand, we walked away from the table to go look for a table for us. Once we found one, we sat down and waited for a server to come. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait long.

A'Mylo ordered drinks for us, and they came quicker than the ones I ordered with my friends. He got himself four shots and a beer and got me another strawberry margarita. Since sitting here with him, I had finished the first one I had.

"Every time I see you, you get sexier." A'Mylo sat back in his chair and folded his arms across his chest. His eyes were burning a hole inside of me, but I refused to look away from him.

I merely smiled. "Please stop boosting my head up." That was something he always did, and I looked forward to his telling me how good I looked to him. Truth be told, he looked good too. He was wearing the same thing he had worn earlier but had added a hat to his head.

"This is the first time I've seen you with a hat on," I mentioned.

He dropped his head. "I don't wear them often, but I decided to switch it up for the night."

I nodded in understanding. "There's nothing wrong with a bit of change."

He leaned up in his seat, putting his arms on the table. "I didn't lie when I said I didn't think I would see you tonight. Were the girls your homegirls or sisters?"

"They were my best friends, but we're close like sisters."

I loved it when someone asked me about my friends, so I could tell them they were more like my sisters.

"Yeah, my boys are like my brothers, too. I have a brother as well."

I didn't want to mention my half-sister since she didn't mean a damn thing to me.

"Are you and your family close-knit?"

He nodded. "We are. My family and I get together just about every Sunday after church."

I gasped as my eyes widened.

He raised an eyebrow, reaching for a shot glass. "Did I say something wrong?"

He downed it in one setting, wincing before he set the glass back down. Then he took a lime and bit into it. Gosh, I wanted to be that lime.

I had to snap out of it for real. My thoughts took on a mind of their own, and that wasn't a good thing. I reached for my drink and took a long swig from it before I set it back down. "No, you didn't say anything wrong. I was just surprised you were a man who attends church."

A'Mylo reached for another shot and repeated the process he had done before. "Since I was a little boy, my parents had me in the church. I don't go every Sunday, but I show up more often than I miss."

"My mother had me in the church, too. I liked going?—"

He held his hand in the air, pausing me in mid-sentence. That was rude. I narrowed my eyes at him, not at all liking that.

"Excuse me, but why the hell are we at the bar, talking about going to church?"

I opened my mouth and closed it, unable to say anything. We stared at each other and burst out laughing.

"You're right, but you were the one who brought church up."

Being in A'Mylo's presence brought me joy. I was glad he showed up tonight, even if I didn't know he was going to be here. I had never been at ease with him as I was now.

He eyed me intently, causing me to feel breathless. It had me wondering what was running through his mind.

"You know, tonight made me realize something," he stated.

"Oh yeah, what?"

"I believe in fate, and I never would have expected to see you here.

But I did, and that's something I'm not about to take for granted.

You know I'm feeling you, right? There's no need for me to beat around the bush about it either.

Since I laid eyes on you and have gotten to know you a little better, it has helped me see what you need in your life. "

I scrunched my face up and eyed A'Mylo in confusion. I was about to say something, but he continued.

"I was never open to having a relationship again. Being burned by love would do that to a person. Hell, it did it to me. Still, you have opened my eyes to a lot of new things."

I understood all of what A'Mylo was saying, but how was he going to skip over what he said about what I needed in my life? According to my friends, I needed some dick, but I didn't think I needed it. Still, I could be honest and admit that I wanted A'Mylo's dick.

"Let's backtrack a little." I rolled my hands back, indicating the gesture. I saw I had his attention, so I continued. "What is it you think I need in my life?"

A crooked grin spread across his face. "You need me. With all the flirting you were doing, you need some dick too."

My cheeks warmed at A'Mylo's bluntness. "I don't know what I'm going to do with you."

He shrugged. "The only thing you can do is let me be me."

I scoffed, picking up my glass. "It seems to me, I don't have a choice."

"You damn right," he confirmed, picking up his beer bottle to down the rest of it.

Later that night, A'Mylo walked a tipsy me to my car. As I leaned on him, I felt him rubbing against me. A giggle slipped from my mouth at his boldness.

"I think you were looking for a reason to touch me."

We weren't the only ones walking to our cars after a night of fun at the bar. Loud chatter and laughter were heard as we made our way across the pavement. We walked side by side with my face buried in his neck. A'Mylo's scent was intoxicating. As much as I wanted to lick him, I didn't.

"I don't see you complaining," he quickly replied. "You smell all fruity and shit. You gon' make me eat you."

If only he knew what his words did to my insides. A feeling pierced my heart with an emotion I didn't understand.

"Where are your keys?" he asked when we reached my car.

I didn't want to move away from him, but I needed to get my keys. Regretfully, I pulled away from him. "Here they go," I stated, pulling the keys out of my purse to show him.

"I'm going to drive you home, and my homeboy is going to follow me in my car to your house."

I frowned as if he could see me in the dark. "Why?"

He pointed at me. "Your ass is tipsy. Hell, I might as well say drunk. I wouldn't feel right if I let you leave here like this without driving you home. I texted my homeboy while we were still in the bar. He's waiting at my car now. I just need to get your drunk ass in the car."

It was sweet that A'Mylo wanted to do that, but that was something I didn't need him to do. I'd never had a man show care as much as he did, and I didn't know how to take it.

"You really don't have to do that."

He hummed. "I'm going to do it, anyway."

I threw my hands up with a huff, not in the mood to argue with him. "Okay, whatever."

A'Mylo's hands went to his chest as he let out a dramatic gasp. "Oh shit. No back talk. It's going to rain tomorrow," he joked.

I rolled my eyes at him. "Whatever."

He stepped closer to me, invading my personal space, breathing the same air that I was, causing me to shudder.

"As much as I would love to sit here and talk to you, we need to go. We can talk in the car if you don't fall asleep."

"Okay," I whispered.

A'Mylo lifted my chin with his index finger, causing me to swipe my tongue across my bottom lip. He lowered his head to mine, and my eyes fluttered closed. His lips captured mine, and I released a soft moan. The connection was too strong to pull away from him, catching me completely off guard.

I couldn't help but wrap my arms around his neck as he wrapped his around my waist, pulling me deeper into his embrace.

He deepened the kiss, slipping his tongue into my mouth.

I moaned and tried following the movement of his tongue.

Once I found the rhythm, gosh, the kiss heated up.

Our mouths made love to each other. This man knew exactly what he was doing.

Damn, what a kiss. I squirmed against him, trying to keep my bearings, but that was hard to do. I felt tingles in the pit of my stomach as my panties grew wet, and my nipples pressed against my bra. A moan escaped my mouth as I fought the overwhelming feeling to be even closer to him.

All too soon, A'Mylo broke the kiss and stepped back away from me. I sucked in a breath as my hand went to my chest, and my heart raced. He left me so breathless that I had to fan myself while my body ached.

A'Mylo took the keys out of my hand. "Let's get you in the car."

He walked around to the passenger side of the car, and I got in. I hoped like hell I could stay up to help this man drive me home since I had to give him the directions to my house. I settled in my car on the passenger side, a side I had never ridden on until tonight.

"Your ass better not fall asleep either," he warned when he got in the car.

I laughed. "I'll try not to."

"Um-hm," was all he said before he started the car and backed out of the parking lot.

I chuckled, knowing I would fall asleep. "Give me your phone. I'll put my address in your GPS. I don't trust myself not to fall asleep."

A'Mylo laughed and gave me the phone with a shake of his head. I took it from his hand, keyed in my address, and gave it back to him.

"Now go to sleep."

I smiled with my eyes half closed. "Yes, sir."
