My eyes snapped open from the movement in my bed.

I then smiled, knowing Leighton had gotten up.

Even on the weekends, she was an early riser.

Since she stayed the night at my house a week ago, I realized she was an early bird.

When I knew I didn't have to work, I didn't worry about getting up early in the morning. What was the point of that?

I turned on my back and peered at her, seeing that she had fixed the bonnet on her head.

If only she knew how beautiful she looked to me, even in the morning, with her eyes still filled with sleep.

Her hair was all over her face as she tried to get it all in the bonnet.

I enjoyed waking up with her. There would be a time she wouldn't have to leave my bed and return home.

I wanted her with me all the time. She came into my life when I wasn't looking for anyone, but when I laid eyes on her, I knew she was mine.

Her beauty and smile knocked me off my feet.

She was it for me — the one. Now, how in the hell was I going to convince her of that?

"You're beautiful," I complimented her with a smile.

Lee stopped what she was doing and turned to look at me. "You're supposed to be asleep," she hissed.

She had the nerve to have an embarrassed look on her face. That was cute, but she had to get used to it. In the mornings, I would always tell her she was beautiful.

I laughed, folding my arms across my chest. "You moved around too much."

She gave me a guilty look. "My bad. I felt my bonnet coming off my head. Plus, it's almost time for me to get up, anyway."

I frowned. "Why? We can chill in bed. Neither of us has any plans for today."

She nibbled on her bottom lip, averting her eyes from me.

"Umm, we have a house to look at. It was on my schedule."

I lifted an eyebrow. "On a Saturday?"

She folded her arms across her chest and glared at me. "Uhhh, yeah, a Saturday. You work on Saturdays sometimes, too."

She had me there, so there was nothing left for me to say. That was probably why she matched me in every way. She was a workaholic, too, which was something I respected.

"At least feed me."

Lee dropped her head, trying to hide a smile. "Hmm, you would say that. What do you want to eat?"

"An omelet and pancakes with bacon."

Her mouth dropped. "Oh yeah, you're about to help me."

My eyes widened, and I sat up in bed. I gave Lee a charming smile. "You don't want to cook for your man?"

She smacked her lips and got out of bed, and my mouth watered. She was naked and looked extra delicious. My eyes followed her juicy booty as she made her way to the bathroom. "I can remember you telling me, I moved too slowly in the kitchen."

I laughed and climbed out of bed, too. "You do move slowly, but you get the job done." I strode into the bathroom and pulled her back to my chest. I dropped a kiss onto her neck. "Cook for your man, and I can lay down some pipe later."

She giggled. "I want it now and later."

My dick grew hard against her ass cheeks. He was up and ready. "You ain't said nothing but a word."

An hour later, Lee was in the kitchen flipping pancakes while I was in the living room, putting a bike together for Ni'Asia.

She didn't know I had gotten this for her, but she wouldn't receive it until Christmas.

With the holiday being only two months away, I started my Christmas shopping early.

I had something special planned for Leighton's birthday as well.

She just didn't know it yet. It brought back the time she told me her birthday.

She was a Scorpio. I had to be careful with her and make sure I treated her right.

I didn't want to get on her bad side. However, what I liked about her being a Scorpio was the fact that she was a freak.

"Mylo, the food is ready!" Leighton called out, pulling me from my thoughts.

"I'll be there in a minute."

I'd have to finish putting the bike together later. My stomach protested, causing me to stand up. When I walked into the kitchen, Lee had the food on the table already. My mouth watered for not only the food but for her, too.

"Everything looks good, baby," I told her.

She gazed at me and smiled. "Thanks. It looks like I cooked for a lot of people."

I scanned the food, seeing that she had fixed a lot. "You're overthinking it. It might be a lot, but I'm starving. By the time we finish eating, most of it will be gone."

Lee gnawed at her bottom lip, her eyes still on her food. I wanted to go to her and kiss the look off her face, but I stayed put.

"Come on. Let's eat."

Once we sat down and said grace, we dug into the meal, eating in silence until I broke the silence.

"Damn, baby. This food is delicious. You've got to cook for me more often."

She smiled brightly. "Thank you. So, what time do you want to go look at the house?"

I stared at her regretfully. "I don't want to, not today. I only want to chill with you. We can save it for another day, right?"

For the first time in a long time, I wanted to be under a woman, soaking in her scent and presence.

Every time I was near Leighton, my heart felt full, and I felt lighter.

With her being near me, I was always at peace.

Although I knew she had to do her job, she also needed to take a break.

The nerve of me to say that the man who would work seven days a week straight if I had to.

I didn't understand why I felt this way when I had only known this woman for a short amount of time.

She turned my world upside down in a good way.

It was unexpected, but with the vibe we had, I wanted to keep it.

Lee reached for her glass of orange juice and took a sip. "Fine." She took another sip and put the glass back down. "I will have to fit it in one day next week. You have four houses left to view."

I pushed my plate away, getting full. "I have my heart set on one right now, but I have to be sure I want that one. With the last four houses, you never know. One of them might be the one."

With Leighton in my life now, I had to consider how I wanted to approach this.

It had been a while since I had lived with a woman.

Not saying we were going to move in together right away.

There were a few things we still had to learn about each other.

We'd just started dating, and I wanted to make sure we worked out.

When I sought a realtor to find me a home, I didn't know I'd also find the woman of my dreams. Perhaps I was being a little overzealous, but I saw a future with Leighton Myles.

"Yeah, I know. Since you don't want to look at houses today, what do you want to do?"

I smirked as I gazed at her, causing her to squirm in her seat. "I have a lot of ideas, but the one I mainly want to do is make love to you." There was no such thing as one round with her. Nah, I had to go several rounds.

She smiled, biting down on the corner of her bottom lip.

Her tongue darted out of her mouth to lick her lips.

My dick stirred, letting me know he wanted to feel those lips wrapped around him.

I had a feeling she knew what she was doing.

She was a little freak herself. That was why I knew she was perfect for me.

"I'm finished eating and am ready to get into whatever you are."

A smile touched my lips. "Oh, yeah?"

She bobbed her head, reaching for her orange juice and downing the rest of it. My dick twitched as I watched her. I stood up and held out my hand for her to take it. She did it with no hesitation. I hope I didn't break her back. From the way I was feeling, I wanted it hard and rough.

I smiled over at Leighton as she watched the ducks swim in the pond. We were at the park, having a picnic. My very first one at that. It was her idea to come, and I must admit, it was something I wasn't used to. For someone who didn't like the outdoors, here she was having a picnic.

I chuckled, gaining her attention. "I'm confused."

She frowned. "And why is that?"

"I can remember you telling me you don't like the outdoors, but here we are."

She dropped her head. "Today is a good day for a picnic, so why not? It's neither too hot nor too cold. Plus, fall is my favorite season."

I scoffed. "You're only saying that because your birthday is in the fall."

Leighton laughed, not trying to deny it. "Hmm, you said it, not me."

I shook my head at her. She didn't lie when she said today was a good day for a picnic.

The weather was nice, and the sun glowed.

Several people were out at the park today.

Young boys were throwing a football back and forth with each other, while parents watched from the playground area with their younger children.

Small squirrels ran up and down the tree and played with each other.

The sounds of people talking and laughter were heard all around me.

I guess everyone wanted to enjoy the weather today.

"Were you keeping the furniture in your home for your new house, or were you buying all new things?" Leighton asked, pulling things out of the picnic basket.

Before we left, we were in the kitchen, packing the food together and ensuring we had everything we wanted before heading to the store to buy a few more items.

I shrugged. "I'm not too sure. A part of me wants to start fresh since it's a new home, but I built some of the things I have in my apartment with my own hands."

She handed me a turkey sandwich and pulled out a ham one for herself.

"I can understand that. You should do both. That's what I did when I bought my house three years ago. I stayed in an apartment until I said I wanted a house of my own. I took some things from my apartment."

"That's what I'm going to do. But I know I need to start looking for new things to add to my house. I'm claiming that I'll settle on something soon."

She beamed. "There you go. That's the spirit."

We shared a laugh. I opened my sandwich and took a bite. I glanced over at her, seeing a small smile on her face.

"You have a glow, baby. I tore it down like that."

Before we got our day started, we took a shower and ended up having sex in the bathroom on the counter. I had to have her, and I wasted no time getting her either.

Lee threw her head back and laughed. "Please stop. There you go with the foolery."

I frowned. "So, I didn't?"

She waved me off. "You did, but still, don't be conceited."

I scoffed. "The way you were hollering my name, I got to be. It's a wonder your neighbors didn't call the police on me. I'm sure they know my name by now."

She giggled as tears rolled down her face. "I'm not doing this with you right now."

I grunted, taking another bite out of the sandwich. I loved making Leighton smile or laugh. The brightness that was always on her face when she was with me, and I wanted her to keep it.

"You know you enjoy my teasing. You'd better act like you know." I sent her a wink and polished off the rest of the sandwich. I then reached into the basket and pulled out a bag of Lays barbecue chips.

"Whatever. You just march to your own beat."

"You damn right. That's what I'm known to do. I'm damned sure not about to follow anyone else. Would you?"

She frowned, narrowing her eyes at me. "Hell no."

"Okay then. What makes you think I want to?"

I was met with silence as Lee continued to eat her sandwich with her slow-eating ass.

After we were finished eating, I laid my head on her lap as her fingertips moved lazily across my head.

It felt good and would help me fall asleep.

Lee's touches alone did something to me.

Damn, I hoped like hell we could stay like this forever.

It seemed too good to be true, but I knew sometimes looks could be deceiving.

For now, I only wanted to be happy with no problems.

"Are you trying to put me to sleep?" I asked her, followed by a yawn.

She grinned down at me and shook her head. "No. This is peaceful. You know?"

I nodded. "It is, but you're putting me to sleep rubbing my head like that."

She chuckled. "Big ol' baby."

I smiled. "I'm your baby."

Leighton leaned down and kissed my lips. "You are."

I wanted to freeze this time and not let it go. It was something I wanted to hold on to.
