The mental thread began to unravel from the moment Ayame had spilled her drink in Scarlett’s face. After that followed the feelings of guilt and regret, his will to fix things that could not be fixed, but deep down Ryosuke knew it wasn’t only about Scarlett’s dress.
Once again Ryosuke’s thoughts wandered to the men’s restroom, and his pulse quickened.
He was helping Scarlett wipe herself. They were both barely able to stay on their feet, but he was trying his best. While he pondered this detail, a new memory flashed before his eyes.
When they were face to face, Scarlett leaned in. Ryosuke remembered grabbing her shoulders to stop her from leaning closer. He even warned her to stop and turned his head away.
“I want to kiss you. Just a little kiss. It won’t hurt anyone.”
“No. No. No.”
“What? No one will ever find out. And I really like you.”
“Scarlett, you’re drunk.”Ryosuke remembered pushing her a little harder, but it didn’t discourage her.
“No one saysnoto Scarlett, dear.”Scarlett pressed him against the sink, and Ryosuke could basically see himself looking for a way out of the awkward situation. Nausea grew while he looked around and scanned the surrounding objects. Heremembered getting a really crazy idea. What I’m thinking? But…I’m not going to let her overpower me… I just need to– I just need to grab something.
There it was, heavy in his arms. Liquid soap dispenser. Such a simple thing, but so deadly used in the wrong way.
“Kiss me,”Scarlett whispered as she pressed her lips to his. Her tongue demanded to enter, and it was hard to refuse. Ryosuke muttered his displeasure, but she didn’t stop. She invaded his mouth and pressed her palm to his crotch.
That was the last straw for him and Ryosuke saw himself swinging the heavy object at her head.
Oh, God…
Ryosuke opened his eyes, his breath ragged.
I hit her! It was me.
Tears gathered in his eyes.
It was me after all. It wasn’t just a dream, was it?
He covered his face with his palms. This was turning into his worst nightmare.
But how could I have known how things would end? Was there a chance I could have saved her?He bit his lip as tears began to roll down his face. He covered his mouth with his hand and choked back the sobs that escaped his throat.Fuck.
?
A gentle touch woke him from slumber. Björn’s brow furrowed before he sleepily opened his eyes. He scanned the room to see who was responsible for waking him up, when his eyes landed on the nurse who stood beside the bed.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to wake you.”
“Oh, it’s you, Angel.” Björn grinned, pleased to see her.
“I brought you breakfast.” Valeria pointed to the side table. “And I gave you a new infusion.”
“Thank you, Angel,” Björn said while his eyes roamed over her figure. Although Valeria was in her nurse uniform, her curves were more pronounced this time and her cleavage wider than yesterday. Björn’s body immediately reacted at the sight of her skin.
“After breakfast, the doctor will come to check you over,” she added.
“And when will you come again?”
Valeria smiled, fished out a small device which was connected to the bed with a cable and put it in his hand. “You can press this button whenever you need me, and I’ll come. Of course, while I’m on my shift.”
The smile never left Björn’s face. “That’s good to know.”
Björn realized Valeria noticed him staring, but she leaned in anyway, and asked innocently, “Do you need anything else?”
