“We didn’t do anything inappropriate, sir,” the man added. “I just wanted to help her.”
“You better be quiet! I’ll ask my wife about it,” Richard snapped, glaring at him then turned to his wife. “Scarlett, we have to talk.”
“Huh? About what?” Scarlett looked confused, as if she didn’t know what was going on all of a sudden.
“We’ll talk about it in our room. In private.” Richard shot a dirty look in the man’s direction.
“We’re going to our room already?”
“Of course. You’re drunk.”
“I’m not drunk,” Scarlett complained and stumbled forward. “No, I don’t wanna go to our room.”
“You’re drunk, woman! What did you expect me to say?” Richard growled. “What’s this?” he asked when he saw traces of blood on her face. He leaned in to examine the side of her head.
“What’s what?” Scarlett moaned and winced from the touch.
“You’re bleeding…” Richard shifted waves of hair to the side to locate the injury. Scarlett appeared to have a wound on the side of her head, but it didn’t look serious. “What did you do to her?” He turned to the guy demanding an answer.
“Nothing. She just fell, lost her balance,” the younger man added quickly. “You said it yourself, she’s had too much to drink.”
Richard frowned and led his wife out of the bathroom.
Ryosuke remained standing in the same spot as he watched them leave. He could hear Scarlett’s protests die behind the closed door. He wondered where that confident woman had disappeared; this Scarlett looked like a pale copy of her.
He stood still for a few moments and then leaned over the sink to splash water on his face. His head began to spin even more as nausea overwhelmed him. He looked at his reflection in the mirror one last time, before his whole world went black, and his body collapsed on the floor.

Richard slammed the door behind him. “Will you finally tell me what you were doing in that restroom?”
“Nothing! I don’t know why you’re yelling at me?” Scarlett covered her ears and closed her eyes.
Richard ran a hand through his hair furiously and growled, “Fine! Forget it now. I have more important things to ask you.”
Scarlett opened her eyes.
Richard took a step closer and looked her in the face. “Today… Today I heard you’re cheating on me.”
Scarlett’s eyes widened and she shook her head. “That’s not true.”
“Just… stop.” Richard grimaced and raised his hands. “Don’t deny it. People have seen you.”
“What? They’re lying,” Scarlett said, and grabbed the back of the chair to keep her balance. She felt dizzy and lost her breath.
“They’re not. And they weren’t the only ones who saw you,” Richard insisted and took a step closer.
“No. I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Scarlett gasped out and shut her eyes tight. She winced and pressed her hand to her stomach.
“Oh, I also saw pictures. You and that blond jerk from the pool,” he hissed in her ear.
Scarlett shook her head, repeating, “No… no… no!” It was no longer a response to her husband’s words, but to the ache that permeated her body.
“You still dare to deny it?” Richard yelled, his face red and all the veins on his throat popping out.
Scarlett gasped again and felt the nausea building up. She became deaf to her husband’s yelling.
Richard lost his patience, and his hand collided with her cheek. Scarlett groaned in agony when she ended face down on the cold surface. Pain like an electric wave washed through her body and through the room echoed Richard’s hate:
