He looked at the door to the women’s room and decided he already had enough trouble without angry women chasing him out, so he guided her into the men’s room and hoped no men would be at the urinal.
When they entered, Ryosuke handed her some paper towels from the dispenser. “Thank you, Ryo, and I’m sorry,” Scarlett said as she wiped her wet cleavage. Ryosuke put one tissue to her stomach to absorb the soaked liquid. The dress was obviously ruined, and it was both their fault, his and Ayame’s too.
“It’s okay. She shouldn’t have reacted like that.”
“But I get her. She has such a handsome fiancé. I would probably do the same.”
Ryosuke locked their eyes and Scarlett grinned. The lighting in the restroom was a bit brighter than in the bar, and Ryosuke couldn’t help but notice how Scarlett looked kind of pale. Her eyes were misty, and she looked like she could faint at any moment.
“Ryo…” Scarlett was about to say something when she lost her balance. Ryosuke caught her in time, and she wrapped her hands around him tightly.
“Scarlett!”
“Mm…”
As she clung to him, she tried to press their lips together. Ryosuke pulled away, noticing she was able to stand on her own.
“Where are we?” Scarlett looked confused all of a sudden.
“In the restroom. Want to go back to the bar? Who are you here with?”
Scarlett ignored his questions and leaned in. “Did we come here to make out?” When they were face to face, Ryosuke turned his head away and grabbed her shoulders to stop her from going any closer.
“Scarlett,” he warned.
“I want to kiss you. Just a little kiss. It won’t hurt anyone.”
“No. No. No.”
“What? No one would ever find out. And Ireallylike you.” She pressed her body to his.
“Scarlett. You’re drunk.” Ryosuke pushed her a little harder, but that didn’t discourage her. Scarlett pressed him against the sink and Ryosuke’s eyes darted around for a way out of the awkward situation.
“No one says no to Scarlett, dear.” Scarlett rubbed her finger across Ryosuke’s lips. Nausea was building up in his stomach while he scanned the surrounding objects. What I’m thinking? But…I’m not going to let her overpower me… I just need to–
?
“I’m going to see where she is. It’s taking her too long in that restroom.” Scarlett’s husband glanced at his wristwatch.
“Yeah. Sure. I hope she is okay,” the older woman said with a nod.
“And thank you for telling methat.” He stood up and looked around, hoping to spot his wife.
“No problem, Richard. I thought you should be aware,” the woman said and gave him a knowing look.
Richard nodded and headed towards the restrooms to search for Scarlett.
He entered the ladies room but didn’t find his wife there. His annoyance was growing, so he tried the men’s room as well. When he opened the door, what he saw next made his blood boil. Scarlett was standing next to an Asian man, and they both turned at him with wide eyes. Although they weren’t doing anything suspicious at that moment, it was odd by itself that they were both in the men’s restroom and standing too close to each other.
“Richard?”
“Scarlett? What are you doing here?” Richard stormed towards them.
“Nothing.” Scarlett looked at the man beside her, and the man looked at Richard. Richard grabbed Scarlett’s forearm and tugged her to his side.
Since Scarlett didn’t speak up in her defense, the man tried, “Her dress got soaked, my fiancé’s fault, so I wanted to help her clean up.”
Richard could see that it wasn’t a lie, there was a stain on Scarlett’s cleavage, but was it the whole truth? Why did this guy have to help her? Richard knew that in these kinds of situations there was always an ulterior motive.
