“He tried to commit suicide, so I am worried he might try to do it again.”
Lennart headed to his work room to continue reviewing the video surveillance footage. There were a few more corners he hadn’t fully checked.
While examining one of the tapes, he heard knocking on the metal surface. He got up and hurried to check who was at the door.
Hugo stood on the other side with a plate in his hand. “I think I didn’t see you at lunch. Your Mother is worried so I bought you some food.”
As the smell hit Lennart’s nostrils, saliva pooled in his mouth. “Thanks, Hugo,” he said and smiled. “I didn’t even realize I was hungry.”
Hugo handed him the plate. “Did you find out anything new?”
“No. I’m still working on it.” Lennart shook his head. Since his empty stomach couldn’t wait any longer, Lennart headed to his table.
Hugo closed the door and followed him inside. “How did Björn’s interview go?”
“He probably hates me even more after it,” Lennart answered with his mouth full.
“Why are you saying that?”
“Because I allowed his questioning in the first place.”
“Hmm, well, it’s his own fault finding himself in such a position.”
“Tell that to my stubborn brother.”
“Is he out or still in detention?”
“He’s out. There wasn’t any reason for him to remain in custody.”
“At least that. And what about Maya?”
“I still need to go to interview her. But first, I’ll review more tapes.”

Hugo looked towards the screen with a frozen picture. In the forefront of the image were Maya and Björn, but in the background was something that caught his attention.
Since Lennart continued to focus on the food, Hugo said, “I’ll be going. I have some unfinished business.”
“Sure.”
Hugo left and went into his study which was only three doors away from Lennart’s workroom. He had his own set of screens on which he was able to monitor the levels in the bunker. He sat at the table and searched the archive. He found the footage from the bar and started going through it until he came across the part that was paused on Lennart’s screen. He leaned forward and adjusted his glasses to see better. He zoomed in on the picture and then looked for another angle that showed the scene better. He rewatched the scene a couple of times and quickly worked to remove that part from all camera angles.
I hope it will get synchronized soon, before Lennart notices it.
Chapter 28
The shiny stars illuminated the LCD window screen casting a faint light to the small space. Little Sarah was tucked in her bed, ready to sleep, when all of a sudden she cried out in terror: “Mommy, Mommy!”
“What’s the matter, Sarah?” her mother called from the bathroom.
“Come quick! Come!”
“I’m brushing my teeth. I’ll be there in a minute. Okay?” the woman shouted from the bathroom.
Sarah didn’t answer, she only hugged her doll tightly and covered her head with the duvet, releasing a soft strangled gasp.
“I’m done now, honey,” her mother said, and added, “What is it?”
