“I know. But there’s still an option to use a public bunker, although I hate that idea as well.” Lennart noticed that Hugo was more on his mother’s side, no matter what he said. It struck him as odd, but he quickly dismissed that thought. Money wasn’t an issue, but it all sounded troublesome for Lennart.

“We’ll not depend on anyone if we have our own

space,” Anna joined the conversation. “Besides, we would be able to help a few people as well. Plus, those public bunkers will be crowded once the chaos ensues. I like your idea better.”

“Right.” Lennart finally looked up and put the papers

aside. “We’ll go and see a few places then decide whether it’ll be worth buying one or not.”

“I personally think this would be the best solution,” Anna declared with a smile, and her eyes shone.

“If we decide to go for it, we would need something bigger,” Lennart added after a while.

Anna and Hugo looked at him, questions dancing in their eyes.

“I would offer rooms to my friends, for example,” Lennart explained, “Each of them is skilled in something, and we could use help from more people.”

“Yeah, you’re right. We will definitely need a doctor as well,” Anna stated, looking at both of them. “It’s a must.”

“Exactly,” Hugo agreed.

“And a dentist, for example,” Anna added.

“A repairman too,” Hugo filled the list.

“See? We’d need to search for a bigger place,” Anna said and reached for the kettle to make some tea.

Lennart drummed his fingers on the wooden surface and inhaled sharply. “Okay… So, we’ll focus on the bigger bunkers and–”

“What are you debating so vigorously about?” they heard another voice coming from the doorway.

Lennart redirected his gaze towards the door, and saw his brother enter the kitchen. “About… nothing important.”

“Why are wesosecretive?” Björn asked and grinned. His green eyes shone mischievously, and he plopped heavily into a chair in front of Lennart and pushed the newspapers away.

“You’re still buying this garbage? For fucks sake. It’s 2051.”

Lennart frowned, but Anna spoke while putting down a sharing plate of sandwiches and fresh cut vegetables. “We were just discussing the possibility of buying a bunker in case some catastrophe happens.”

“Hmm… I see.” Björn wrinkled his nose glancing at the

titles. “So, you plan on leaving me behind?” he laughed and looked back at Lennart.

“Oh, no. Of course not! Why are you saying that?”

Anna turned to take a kettle of freshly prepared herbal tea.

“I don’t know. But my brother seems like he would do

exactly that,” Björn replied and shrugged, and reached to put two sandwiches with ham and slices of cooked eggs and fresh peppers on his plate.

Lennart rolled his eyes, while putting food onto his plate as well. “You’re making things up as always,” he said, irritation audible in his voice.
