“On?” he finally asked.
She rubbed a finger down the center of his chest. “That I have a say with our family.”
“Fuck, Megan. Do it count though? When that motherfucker showed his fuckin’ ass up, I didn’t fuckin’ know he was my fuckin’ nephew.”
She stood on her tiptoes and braced her hands on his chest, her signal for him to pick her up and kiss her.“You know now, Christopher. And even if he wasn’t related, CJ and Rory are. They are family and they don’t want him dead. He brought Molly back and was almost killed because of it.”
“I ain’t too sure who the fuck shot him.” Itcould’vebeen Bash, but for some reason Christopher didn’t believe that. His guess was Cleaner. “Even ifIlet him live, if a motherfucker in his club gunnin’ for him, he ain’t livin’ long.”
Regret flickered across her face and Christopher’s jealous rage returned. She kissed him, still in his arms. “I’m not sorry for that for the reasons you’re thinking, my love. But if he does die like that, youdidn’t repay what he did for our son and nephew by executing him.”
“If I say Ima back off, would you suck my cock?”
She giggled.Giggled. Christopher spun her around the room, and she squealed, laughing with abandon.
Much as she had Saturday night during each of his karaoke turns. He’d chosenMy AxeandAnother Love Song, then sangRed Neck Hoewith Axel because the lil’ motherfucker did more dancing than singing during that song. Megan choseI Knew You Were Waitingby Aretha Franklin and George Michael, for her duet with Christopher.
What surprised him most of all was Kaia. The motherfucker could actually sing. Somehow, he convinced Rebel to singI Got You Babeby Sonny and Cher with him. Even Diesel got in on the act and sangTainted Love,Creep, andFather Figure. Those were fucking choices, but Christopher shut the fuck up because him and Rebel barely spoke to each other.
The Triplets rappedWAP, of all fucking things. Bishop and Axel chosePistol Paccin.Again,of all fucking things. Axel rappedTexasthree goddamn times, while Bishop and Kaia thought it was a good fucking idea to singOld Town Road, the version that featured Billy Ray Cyrus.
Later, when all the bad singing was done and the laughter died away, Christopher learned CJ was so fucking appalled most of the evening because he’d lost a bet to the Triplets that totaled seven hundred fifty dollars.
Chuckling again, Christopher got him and Megan to the bed and fell into it, careful to land on his back so she’d be on top.
“Let’s set some ground rules for your killing, Outlaw,” she said, breathless.
His heart sinking, Christopher sighed. “Don’t kill a motherfucker unless they deserve it,” he said sourly.
“Don’t kill family and friends. That’s the only rule.”
Christopher scowled. “So, you tellin’ me I can fuck up any motherfucker I wanna. But when it come time to actually fuck up those motherfuckers, you puttin’ them on your motherfuckin’ list.”
“I’m not. I promise.”
He threw her an annoyed look, pouting like a fucking child.
“Idon’twant you killing, Christopher. I sincerely believe you aren’t a cold-blooded killer. But I swear I won’t indiscriminately add new names to my No-Kill List.”
“It’s just the same motherfuckers?”
“Along with Bishop, Kaia Riggs, and his brother, Kayce.”
“Gypsy and Derby still on it?”
She nodded.
“Boy and Danicka?”
“Yep.”
“Symphony and Tee.”
“Tee is. I don’t care what happens to Symphony.”
“I can scoop her up tomorrow?”
“Totally up to you.”
