Three Months Later

Eliana

“ I n hindsight, we should've left early.” Jake gives my knee a squeeze, leaning his head back in frustration as he takes in the never-ending sea of cars in front of us.

“What was that? I thought I heard mention of leaving earlier. But that can’t be given how insistent you were that we wouldn’t hit traffic. I must be hearing things,” I tease.

“Ya know, this is also partially your fault.”

I gasp in mock offense. “Oh? How so? Given I told you traffic would be insane and we should leave at 8, but you said 10 would be fine.”

“That’s my point. We both know you’re always right, so you shouldn’t have let me convince you to leave at 10. You should’ve just told me to shut up.”

“I would never tell you to shut up. But I do appreciate you acknowledging how I was right. ”

“Always, love. Always.” He presses a kiss to the back of my hand.

“Excited for your first time on Martha’s Vineyard?

” Jake invited me to his family’s house on the island to celebrate the end of the school year.

His parents and sisters had been there a few days already, and my mom and Josie were driving down tomorrow.

After my fight with Jake, I had a long conversation with my mom, who was also apologetic about accepting the money.

She had truly believed Jake and I had already discussed it, and mailed him back the check.

Jake, of course, refused to accept it and told her she can either cash it, or he’ll call her mortgage company and pay it off himself.

He insisted on getting paid in home-cooked meals every time we came to visit would make them equal, and my mom rolled her eyes while also thanking him profusely.

Without my mom having to worry about her loans, I also felt free.

Speaking about financial matters would likely always be a sour spot for us, my mom did apologize for how much emotional labor she had asked of me all these years.

I knew it took a lot for her to acknowledge treating me like a co-parent instead of her daughter.

Inviting her on this trip was our first attempt at fixing what had been broken, and attempting to have a normal relationship.

“Yes I can’t wait to lay on the beach all day, watch the sunset, and see you man a sailboat.”

“The sailboat situation might be a disaster. I haven’t gone out on one since high school, but don’t worry. I’m an excellent swimmer, so one way or another, I’ll get us back to shore.” He smirks.

“Mmm maybe you should have Ollie or Adam steer instead.” His two best friends would also be joining us this week.

“Not happening. I know I can at least get us out into the ocean. They’d have us capsized in under two minutes. ”

“Sounds like I should definitely wear a life jacket regardless.”

“Hey now. Where’s that optimism of yours that I love?”

I look at him like he’s grown two heads.

“Alright, fair enough. Optimism was definitely a stretch there. What’s the ETA now?”

“Still three hours according to my phone. Which is not surprising given we’ve moved two feet in the past thirty minutes.” I kick my shoes off in the passenger seat. “Might as well get comfy now.”

“Three hours?! Well at least it’s still early enough that we don’t need to worry about missing the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard.”

“True. Though we still have three hours of time to kill. And I’m on a strict ‘no working’ policy.” I look at Jake from the side of my eye.

“That’s right. You have two weeks before you start your summer internship, which means you should be doing nothing but recovering from the spring semester and enjoying the summer until then.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever gone two weeks without working.

My body feels on edge without direct access to my laptop.

” I’m partially joking, knowing I had a small nightmare last night that I forgot to turn my final papers in and failed the semester.

Clearly, I had some lingering post-exam anxiety to work through.

“Hmm sounds like I need to do a better job at helping you relax then.” Jake loosens his grip on my knee to draw idle circles up and down my thigh, drawing out goosebumps.

“And how do you plan on doing that?” I pry.

“I have a few ideas.” A wicked glint appears in his eyes. One that sends a rush of heat through my body.

“Like wh—” I gasp as he pushes the top of my skirt up to my stomach, completely exposing me. He traces the top of my panties before dragging his index finger, adding pressure to my clit.

My eyes start to close, letting the pleasure come over me, when I remember where we are. I move to cover myself. “We can’t do this here. Someone could see.”

“No one’s going to notice us.”

“We’re in standstill traffic. Someone will notice,” I counter.

Despite the words leaving my mouth, the look of determination on Jake’s face has me silently screaming at myself to throw caution to the wind. I feel something fall on my lap a second later.

“Use that towel to keep yourself covered. I want your panties off and legs spread in the next two minutes.” His voice drops three octaves sending a chill down my spine.

A moment later, my panties are at my ankles, a towel covering my legs, and Jake is moving his hand back onto my thigh. “Such a good girl. Are you wet for me already?”

My eyes shut, and I give him a small nod, unable to form words.

He clicks his tongue. “That won’t work for me, Ellie. I need your eyes on me, while you answer me out loud.”

I still hadn’t gotten used to how dirty Jake’s mouth could be. From the smirk on his face, I could tell he was enjoying every moment of leaving me speechless. “I?—”

“Take your time, babe. We’re not going anywhere anytime soon.” He nods at the traffic in front of us.

“You’re such a— Oh god… yes .” He cuts me off by pressing his thumb firmly on my clit, drawing small circles.

“Fuck I love seeing you like this. Legs spread just for me, dripping wet.” He quickens the pace of his thumb, all while teasing my entrance with his index finger. “Such a good girl letting me play with this pussy. ”

My nails dig into the car door in pleasure as he sinks his finger inside of me, adjusting his hand so the base of his palm rubs on my clit.

I moan so loud I swear it shakes the car as he continues to move his finger in and out, all while applying the perfect amount of pressure to my sensitive bundle of nerves. “More Jake. I need more.”

He adds in another finger, groaning at how easy it is for me to take him.

Leaning my head against the car seat, I start moving my hips against him.

“God I love you. You’re dripping all over me, baby.

You look so damn beautiful taking my fingers.

It’s taking all my restraint right now not to drag you into the back seat, throw your legs over my shoulders and make you come on my cock over and over again. ”

The pleasure building in my body takes control over the rational part of me. “Yes. Do it. Do whatever you want, just don’t stop. I’m so close, so, so clo—” In an instant the feeling of fullness is lost as is the orgasm that was seconds away from coming.

Breathless, confused, and incredibly irritated, my head snaps to Jake, who’s licking his fingers clean, moaning as he tastes me on him.

“Why did you stop?” I nearly growl.

His eyes are filled with mischief. “The traffic is moving. I had to drive.”

I look ahead at the two extra two feet of space ahead of us. “We barely moved!”

“We just have so much time to kill, it would be a shame if we finished so quickly and had nothing else to do, wouldn’t it?

Plus, I’ve never gotten the chance to edge you before.

Would you be willing to give it a try?” His tone shifts from teasing to sincere, and I’m reminded that despite all of Jake’s joking, he would never do anything I was uncomfortable with.

It’s his never-wavering dedication to making me feel as safe and loved as possible that has me reaching over for his hand and placing it back between my legs.

The next hour is a delicious mix of torment and bliss.

Jake does everything in his power to avoid my clit, burying his fingers in me and mercilessly rubbing against my g-spot over and over again but never letting me come.

I’m a shaking mess covered head to toe in sweat and somehow, I have never felt so cherished and taken care of. I bring my hand to brush through his hair and turn his face so he’s looking at me. “I’m not sure I can hold off much longer.”

“Show me what you need. Use me.” My mouth drops open as I follow his command, adjusting his hand in between my legs so that he has two fingers buried deep inside of me while his thumb hovers over my swollen clit.

“Good?” Jake asks, waiting for me to nod before giving me everything I needed and more.

His thumb on my clit is relentless as is the movement of his fingers as he brushes against a spot inside of me that makes me clench around him.

“Fuck that’s right. Squeeze my fingers babe.

God you’re so damn wet for me. Such a good girl. All for me.”

My peaked nipples hardened even more at his words as I move my hips to match his pace.

I wrap my hand around his wrist, making sure he can’t stop, as I finally, finally , am able to let my orgasm come.

I nearly sob as I feel the pleasure take over and also build again.

Though Jake’s rough movements on my core have slowed down ever so slightly, I’ve been so pent up for the last hour that I can’t help but come on his hand again.

“You’re so beautiful, Ellie. So fucking beautiful.” Jake murmurs as I let the exhaustion take over.

Jake woke me up when we were about thirty minutes away from the ferry, likely knowing I’d need a little more time than normal to get myself together.

We’d spent most of the time on the roof of the boat, staring at the beautiful blue water surrounding us.

Once we docked, the drive to his family’s summer home was fairly quick, allowing us to arrive just as Jake’s dad was finishing up grilling.

“Food smells great, Dad,” Jake calls from the kitchen through the open patio door.

“I hope you kids came hungry because I made enough to feed a small village

“Don’t you worry Dad. Ollie and Adam are coming over so we’ll definitely put a large dent in whatever you got cooking up.”

Sienna tenses up next to me as she rummages through the kitchen drawers. “Oliver’s coming?”

Jake’s eyes narrow. “Yeah why?”

“Just want to make sure we have enough steak knives. I’ll add one for him…and Adam.” She runs out to the patio to set the table before either of us can say anything.

“Do you think that was weird?” Jake grabs the plates from my hands, stopping me before we walk outside.

Did I think Sienna was acting weird? Sure.

But I wasn’t about to tell Jake that, especially since I didn’t want to trigger Jake’s overprotective older-brother senses.

For now I would stay out of it. “Nah I don't think so. She was probably just tired from laying out in the sun all day. I wouldn’t read into it.”

Jake decides to let it go, giving me a shrug before leading me outside where I’m engulfed in a hug by his mom. “Ellie, it’s so good to see you. I just received an email that all your paperwork has been approved for your internship. I can’t wait to have you in my lab this summer.”

“Me too! I’m so excited. I’ve already started thinking of a few ideas we could analyze with the dataset you shared with me?—”

“As much as I love seeing you both nerd out over your work, may I remind you both that we are on vacation , so I’m going to have to cut this conversation short.” Jake interrupts, pulling me toward the table and placing a massive steak in front of me.

“This is bigger than my head.” I laugh.

He leans down, pressing his lips next to my ear. “You spent a lot of energy today. Need to make sure you refuel.”

My face feels like I’m standing next to a bonfire and I’m eternally grateful for Adam and Ollie arriving right then to distract Jake’s family from my sudden embarrassment. “I’m gonna get you back for that.”

Jake’s eyes widened. “Is that a promise?”

I roll my eyes as I watch Ollie’s gaze linger a little too long on Sienna.

Jake is thankfully distracted by whatever Adam is saying to him to notice.

The rest of dinner is fairly uneventful sans the gorgeous sunset we all took in from the shoreline right outside Jake’s house.

Ollie and Adam bailed after that, followed by Sienna and Charlotte, who decided to have an early night.

“C’mon, our night’s not over yet.” Jake walks over to his car and drives us to the local ice cream store downtown.

While we finish our sweet treats, he tells me about the time when he and his sisters ordered the ice cream tower, consisting of a dozen scoops and every sundae topping known to man, and were sick for three days after.

Jake threw up all over Charlotte’s stuffed teddy bear when they got home, and she still hasn’t let him forget it.

Jake drives us along the shore of the island until we reach the top of a hiking trail littered with families, friends, and couples counting the stars above them. He helps me up onto the hood of his car and wraps an arm around me as we look up at the night sky.

“I know my history with identifying constellations is a bit shaky…” He trails off as I chuckle into his chest. “But I’ve been studying up for this very moment.”

“Wow. Voluntarily studying? Your tutor would be so proud,” I tease.

“As she should be.”

“So tell me, what did you learn?”

“Those stars right there represent Andromeda and right underneath her is Perseus.” His long arm points to the stars to our right.

“And what’s their story?”

“They both went through many trials and tribulations in their lives. Fought like hell to be together, and had a love so great that when they died their love was immortalized in the sky as stars, to represent their never-ending love and loyalty to each other.”

“That’s beautiful.” I press a small kiss to his cheek, taking in the stars.

“It is, though I know one love story that’s even greater than theirs.”

“Oh? Which one?”

He moves from looking at the stars to my face. It’s hard to see in the dark, but I swear his eyes start to tear up as he declares, “Ours.”

My eyes flicker from the man in front of me and the stars in the sky. We may not have a constellation dedicated to us, but one thing was for certain. He was my entire universe. And I was his.
