The bloodsucker panted, the injury making her pussy, that was still wide open on display, wetter.

“Clan Disaris is going to burn this place down once they find me. You might as well get your kicks in now before I kill you and your little friend.”

“Is that right? That’s why you let this limp dick over here fuck you and cut off your leg?”

She bared her teeth menacingly and pulled at her chains, rattling them loudly like a musical tune.

“What the hell? We were looking for you guys. We got caught up in taking out some of the patrol and…” Samuel’s voice tapered off as the rest of my men gathered around to stare at the prisoner.

“Clan Disaris probably doesn’t even know you’re here. What can you tell me about this place?” I continued to ask her.

“I don’t need to tell you shit!”

I lifted my fingers and signaled for the men to leave. We turned and headed out the door one by one, the sound of chains rattling louder and louder behind us.

“Wait! Please!”

I stopped. Looking over my shoulder, I gave her a suspicious glare.

“T-they eat flesh here. When the women can’t bear any more children, they serve a different purpose.”

Fuck!Keeping my face stoic, I continued to stare and see if she would supply anything else.

“The assholes shot me from the sky. I was never supposed to cross this side. I was headed to meet my assigned commander.”

Commander. For what? A military?I didn’t exactly know how these clans were organized, but it was not news that they were at war with one another. If she was headed towards her commander, war might already be here on this side of the world.

Wait the fuck a minute…

“Did she say?” Reed frowned and I nodded.

This was it. Our mission. That shit was hidden here somewhere. “You guys go ahead, get a sample for crazy Otis, and then look forSili. We need to get out of here, now.”

I turned around, headed back toward the bloodsucker, and she smiled in triumph—until I leaned in and pulled out my dagger, wiping it on my pants and turning right back around.

“You asshole!”

“Yeah, so I’ve been told.” I shut the door behind me so I didn’t have to hear her annoying voice anymore.

Tucking the dagger back in its place, I began moving around the main building to see if I could locate an unsecured entrance point. I did, through a single side door, and slipped inside.

“Eliseo!” Reed whispered my name from behind an open doorway, and I stealthily moved until I met up with him. I assumed Samuel and Gunner were looking for the petrified wings.

“What did you find out?”

“They gotSililocked in a room with the welcome party.”

“Fuck.”

“Yea, I scoped it out earlier with Sam. Their voices were floating through one of the windows. West side of the building, far end.”

“Let’s get her before she ends up in chains.” The moment we made it out of here, I would tell her about my theory.

Random men sat around metal tables eating, while some of them lined up with bowls like a soup kitchen. The walls to one side were lined with metal platform bed frames covered in weapons.Shit; we were not going to be able to take them all.

I signaled to Reed to move behind the stack of barrels ahead of us. Gunshots and laughter went off outside, catching the attention of the men at the table. Reed and I both moved past them and made it to the room where they were holdingSili.

My ears strained to listen, but I didn’t hear a sound. The door suddenly slammed open with a crash, bouncing against the wall next to us. Reed and I scooted toward the dark shadows and slowed our breathing. Boot steps got farther and farther away. Peering around the wall, I signaled for Reed to move. We both entered the room and found something we didn’t expect.
