My men. This would be a shit show.Silicould only kill so many of them. Samuel made it back just in time before I went rogue and got her out of there myself.

“We’re shit out of luck, just two ways in,” he reported.

“Alright, through the back it is then. Let’s go,” I commanded.

We moved silently between the trees until the ground became even with the back gates. It was just a double door, compared to the sliding gate in the front. This would make less noise.

“Reed,” I called.

He nodded and threw a rock to the side, hitting the back wall to catch their attention. They spoke with one another and one of the guards walked off to inspect the noise.

Reed and Gunner both went off in his direction while Samuel and I walked up to the remaining guard.

“Who are you and what the fuck are you doing here?” the guard hollered.Welcoming, my ass.These guys played the part when it was a woman coming to their compound.

Distracting him, I waved a hand and started spewing some bullshit. “Shit, I kinda got lost. Do you know how you get to—”

Samuel quickly came behind him and sliced his throat deep enough to make his head flop back. Reed and Gunner came back with some bloodstains on their hands and the enemies’ weapons.

Samuel grabbed the ammo off the guy on the ground and tossed the rifle.

Opening the double doors, it creaked a little, and I ground my teeth.Fuckers had a compound this big and couldn’t find grease or some shit for the hinges?We all slipped inside and moved between the vehicles parked back here. We were going to have to hijack a few of these on the way out if we were too outnumbered.

Voices floated from the main building, the sound of men cheering and celebrating. The first small building came up and we went toward it to recon. It was the size of a small home back in Ashborne, while the main building here was five times its size.

Crouching down and leaning against the wall, I slowly rose to peer inside the dirty window. It was dark and looked to be housing supplies. We would come back for this shit if we had time.

“Check the other small building and meet back here in ten.” Samuel and Reed both broke off.

Gunner came near me and looked into the window. “Do you think they have food in here?”

“We’ll find out soon enough. First thing is finding out whereSiliis. Next, we see if they have what the doc needs. Then, we get our asses outalive.”

He nodded in response. “I know she can handle herself, but I got a real bad feeling about this.”

“I know. Me too.”

Time ticked by, and I started to get antsy when the other two didn't return. “Let’s go,” I told Gunner and we both stealthy made it to the other side of the compound. Reed and Samuel were nowhere to be seen. Might as well check out this building before we went to look for them.

“Ahhhh!” came a feminine scream and I jumped into action, led by instincts. Gunner was right behind me as I ran into the room, pulled the dagger I obtained from the last community and stabbed it into the man’s kidneys.

He fell to the ground and landed on top of a girl in chains—around the neck, her arms, wrists and her legs.What the hell? Why would you need this much?The dead man’s dick slipped out as he fell to the side, a bloody saw clattering on the hard ground. Her leg was cut right at the thigh, her blood spewing from her artery.

Was the world full of crazed people? Why do we keep running into bizarre shit? Gunner was standing next to me, staring at the sight before him. What the hell were we supposed to do? We needed to saveSilibefore she became…this.

The girl gritted her teeth, her face wet from tears, and kicked the body up just enough for her to bend forward and bite down on the dead man’s neck.So she was a bloodsucker.Thinking that she got off on feeding, we both watched as she moaned right before her leg twitched, drawing attention to that part of her.

Gunner grabbed my arm right as we witnessed her severed leg stitch back together and become whole again. Images ofSili’shealing came to the forefront of my mind and now I was more than pissed. If these men find out she healed like this, she would become their next fuck toy, just like this bloodsucker right here.
