"Of course, you girls are." Marsha looks at me. "And how about you Jane? Still kicking ass?"

I smile at her and nod my head.

"I knew it." Marsha smiles at me and then slaps her hands together. "I'll get you your regulars. Do you want wine with that or no?"

"Wine is nice." Thalia looks at me and I nod my head. "Chardonnay," Thalia tells Marsha and she nods her head and goes to the back where the kitchen is.

"So, tell me more about Rowan and what you two have been up to," Thalia says as we sit down at the table. I shake my head lightly and roll my eyes at her. "Just tell me. I won't tell anyone, trust me."

"Rowan and I are together. Kind of,"I sign."We are keeping it a secret until I tell my dad."

"Your dad doesn't know?" Thalia asks and I shake my head. "Why don't you tell him?"

"Because I am afraid of Rowan getting in trouble. I need to find a way to tell my dad."

"You don't need to find a way. You just need to tell him."

"Easier said than done."

"Well, you might want to tell him soon," Thalia advises. "At least answer this truthfully." Thalia says which makes my stomach churn. "Do you talk to him?"

I look up at Thalia and she has a serious look on her face.

I know that if I lie right now and say that I never talked to Rowan once, she will see right through me.

She is my best friend.

She knows me more than my parents do.

I nod my head once.

She nods her head slowly and looks out the window for a second before looking back at me.

"Does he make you happy?"

I nod my head.

God yes.

My heart beats faster as I think about how he makes me feel.

He makes me happy. He makes me forget about all of the bad in the world and when I am with him everything else fades into the shadows. I love the feeling he gives me.

Twenty Seven

Rowan

I unlockthe door to my place and when I swing it open, my eyes go to my brother who is sitting on my couch, watching TV.

He turns his head as he hears me walk in and a smile lifts on his lips.

"My man." Andrew gets up from the couch and walks towards me. When we are a few centimeters away from one another he wraps his arm around me and gives me a hug. "Long time, no see."

As I hug Andrew my mind goes to Jane.

I wonder what she is doing right now.

Andrew lets go of me and puts his hands on my shoulders. "You want a kiss too?" I raise my eyebrow at him, and he just pushes me and laughs.
