Thirty-Two

G asping, I jolted up up and tried to place myself. Alpha Genesis had been so close. I smelled him. He was a few yards from me. I’d almost lost everything. My eyes squeezed shut as I tried to hold back the floors of tears.

He didn’t though. Marcus saved me. He came just in time. Alpha Genesis is gone and I was in Marcus’ arms. Slowly opening my eyes, I smoothed out my red blanket he had covered me in. I was home. Marcus took me home.

Getting up, my knees were weak but I was able to walk. Marcus was sitting on the couch staring out of the window, lost in thought. There were two glasses in front of him. One wasn’t touched and from the color, even with the lights off, it looked like whiskey. The other was about half gone and it was probably one of the sparkling waters from the fridge.

As I stepped down the stairs, his head turned and his eyes looked me over. I was wearing some of his sweats but they didn’t feel as big as I wished they would. On top of that, he’d put me in one of his shirts and it fell off one of my shoulders. His eyes watched me as I made my way over to him.

“Little wolf…”

Climbing into his lap, I strangled him as I splayed my fingers over his bare chest. He was wearing slacks but I wondered if he flew us here or if he drove. There was a chance he shifted his upper body and ripped through his shirt. I’d heard that Alpha dragons could shift partially, becoming a cross between a human and dragon before shifting to their full dragon.

His hands held me more gently than normal and I could see the worry in his eyes. I sat on him for a moment before I finally nodded. My teeth sunk into my lip before I finally spoke.

“You saved me. If you hadn’t…they were in the doorway. They were stepping into the room and I would have been pulled out. I couldn’t stop my heart from beating so loud. You called their attention and you saved me.”

He shook his head, his grip tightening on me. “I was too late. It never should have gotten that far. You should never have been in danger like that. I’m sorry, Colt.”

Tears fell down my face but I smiled. “Mark me, Alpha.”

His eyes flickered with gold and he inhaled sharply. “Colton, you just went through something very traumatic. I’m sure there is a lot going through your mind, but you don’t need to jump into…”

I cut him off by putting a finger to his mouth. “You’re right. It was traumatic. I don’t think I have ever been so terrified and I honestly thought…I was done. I thought I was going to die at their hands and I would lose everything. As soon as they had their hands on me, they’d know about our little girl and about me. There would be nothing else.”

My eyes focused in on Marcus’, pinning him to the couch. “The only thing I could think of though as you. That I wouldn’t have anymore time. That I should have told you earlier that I loved you. That I couldn’t imagine being with anyone else. All the thoughts that raced through my head as the door exploded were that I regretting that I was too scared to commit and tell you how I felt.”

“Colt…”

My wolf stepped forward with me, our voices blending together. “I’ve been waiting for you to realize I’m too much work. I’m too much baggage and no sane person would want me. Even though all I want is you. I want to be by your side, always. I want to be your Omega. I want you as my Alpha. I was so torn and so I just shut up and it would have been my ultimate regret.”

Marcus smiled and brushed some hair behind my ear. ““As much as that makes me so happy to hear, it doesn’t mean we need to mate right now. You know what happens. It’s for life, Colton. Your life would be elongated and you would be stuck with me. You’d also not be able to have a family with anyone else. Just me. I want to give you time. I was just happy to have saved you before it was too late. I told you I would protect you. I almost failed but I would have burned the world to the ground I had.”

“I’m not…my words aren’t right. I’m awful at this.” I placed my forehead on his shoulder as turned my hands into fists. “ One of the hardest things in life is having words in your heart hat you can’t utter. ”

He chuckled. “James Earl Jones? Really, Colt?”

I pushed back up and sighed. “I know Omegas don’t have fated mates but with you, it’s different. It’s exactly what I thought a fated mate bond would be like. My eyes are always drawn to yours in a room. I feel you when you’re near. I want to be next to you, be yours . I’ve had interactions in the past, silly short relationships and one night fucks. Never did I even think about presenting for them let alone want to. Never did I feel like I wanted to be their Omega. My Omega side disgusted me for so long but with you, it’s who I want to be. I want to be your Omega and you my Alpha.”

Looking at him, I struggled to hold back my own tears when I saw his eyes get glossy. I wanted to tell him everything. Everything that I had been feeling but was too scared to tell him. All that fear seemed silly in the face of the terror I felt. Marcus slipped his hands under my shirt and rubbed his hands up and down, feeling my skin.

“I love you too, Colton. You’re right. I see everything I want for my future in you. No matter what you have going on around you. You are my future, one I couldn’t see my life without. I think you may be right. I think we may be fated. Never has anyone even made me look twice. Made me want to burn the world for them. You are all I want. I told myself if you asked me, I would mark you because I’m all in.”

He really was everything. Why did I ever think that he was like everyone else? Leaning down, I kissed his lips softly. Then I moved to his jaw and pressed a kiss there next. The next place I kissed was just under his ear, and then his neck.

“Then I’m asking you, right now. Mark me, Alpha. Make me yours. Please. I don’t want to regret anything moving forward. I don’t want to just survive. I want to be happy. I want to trust you and love you. I want everything. If that makes me selfish, then so be it.”

I couldn’t see his face but his hands slipped around and pulled me closer. His hands ran over my skin but he didn’t let me go as he took deep breaths in the crook of my neck. Finally, he laid a kiss there.

“You scared me so bad. That last text was too much of a goodbye. I almost shifted right there”

Pushing up, I kissed his lips again. “I thought I was saying goodbye.”

“Never again, Colt. You’re mine. You belong by my side.”

“Yes, Alpha.” My voice was quiet and low, my wolf and I agreeing with him.

He shivered, his eyes bright now as well. “Do you want to have something to eat first?”

A laugh bubbled up in me and I shook my head. “Alpha, don’t fuck with me right now. We can eat later. I’ll survive.”

Marcus smiled and his hands slipped down out of my shirt. His hands grabbed my ass and I squeaked but he lifted me up. I wrapped my legs around him and my arms wrapped around his neck. He kicked open the bedroom door and set me down on the bed.

He moved away through and I cocked my head to the side, wondering what he was doing. Pulling up his phone, he was looking at it for a moment before the entire house made all kinds of sounds. I was surprised to see metal slats come down over the windows and the room plunged into full darkness.

Marcus slowly pulled off his crystals and set them on the dresser, along with his glasses. I looked down at my own crystals before slipping off the courting gift for the first time since he gave it to me. The crystals around my neck were next to go and I felt so naked without them. Setting them aside, I looked up at Marcus who was now standing over me.

“Take me, Alpha. Make me yours.” My eyes reflected in his since both my wolf and I were ready.

Marcus leaned down and his hand slipped behind my head, holding me in place as he consumed me with a single kiss. I knew without a doubt my ears and tail were already out. Reaching up, I wrapped my arms around his neck and held on, kissing him back.

His scent was driving me wild and I felt myself actually release my own pheromones. It was like breathing freely for the first time in a long time. I let myself sink into my wolf for the first time since I begged Marcus to fuck me in the office. Marcus was my Alpha and I was his Omega. I’d give him everything that I was.

There was a deep rumble coming from Marcus and the only thing I could do was reply with my own. Part of me was scared to drown in his scent but I knew I was safe. He made sure I was. His lips left time and I looked into his eyes, the Haze reflecting back in them, gold flecks marring his usual dark green eyes.

“Present for me, Little Omega . Present that beautiful ass for me. Make me remember why I took you in the first place.”

I felt myself get slick and my eyes widened. Normally, it didn’t happen this early or this much. Groaning, I slipped off the bed but Marcus didn’t move, leaving me little room to turn. He loomed over me as Alpha and I wanted to please him. Turning he allowed me some breathing room so I could remove my pants. They were already soaked but I pulled them down, kicking them off my ankles. Taking a deep breath, I leaned onto the bed, my ass in the air for Marcus. My heart was beating out of my chest but I didn’t feel anything for a while. Whimpering, I needed him to touch me.

“I hear you, Little Omega . I hear you.” His touch was electric as he brushed my ass with his palm. “If I remember correctly, you…like it…rough.”

His hand came down on my ass and I arched my back, crying out that turned into a moan. Marcus hummed and his hand came down again. I felt my hands shift as I grabbed the bed and dug in. Slick ran down my leg and Marcus finger rubbed the outside of my ass.

“You are so wet, Little Omega . Do you remember now? Remember what it felt to have my cock in your ass?”

Whimpering, I shook, unable to reply. Another slap came down on my ass but it was the other cheek. It sent an explosion through me and I ejaculated. Marcus’ rumble turned to a chuckle.

I purred and gasped as I felt a finger rim my hole before Marcus stuck a finger in. I moaned so loud that it caught me off guard. Tightening around his finger, he hissed.

“Don’t suck me in so quickly. Let me prep you. Otherwise, I might hurt you and I don’t want to do that. You’re fraying my patience enough as it is.”

“Good.” I growled back at him.
