Page 38 of Is It Casual Now?
“Shit, Jamie’s home early. This is definitely the way to go. All right, you’re the best. Bye.”
Jamie heard Siena’s rushed words as she opened the door. Despite how easily Siena had brushed Jamie’s concerns away without making her feel unheard, something was definitely going on, and the panic building in Jamie’s chest threatened to overwhelm her.
Today of all days. And work had gotten weird and even a little uncomfortable. Jamie loved her job, most of the time, but there was something going on between Ingrid and her business partner and Jamie got the impression it wasn’t good. The tension between the two of them was filtering through the office, and the vibe had gotten harder to ignore.
“Babe.” Siena’s face bloomed into excitement to see Jamie, but her words still echoed through Jamie’s head.
“Who were you talking to on the phone?”
“Work stuff, nothing important.”
“It didn’t sound like work stuff.” Jamie knew she sounded like a petulant child, but today had been harder than she had expected .
“I promise, I’ll tell you all about it after dinner, but right now…” Siena walked over to the couch and from behind it she pulled a beautiful bouquet of flowers. “Happy birthday, babe.”
“Oh my God.” Jamie laughed at the sheer size of the bouquet. “It’s as big as my head.”
“Well, it’s a rose for every month.”
“Every month of my life?” Jamie laughed again, struggling to hold the weight of the thing when Siena handed it to her.
“No.” Siena wrapped her arms around Jamie’s waist, leaning back from the flowers between them. “Every month since we first met.”
“Oh.” Jamie blinked and stared at the arrangement of different colored roses she held in her arms.
“I love you, Jamie, and ever since that moment, my life has changed.”
“For the better?” Jamie questioned, hating how much she still needed that reassurance.
“Oh most definitely.” Siena took the flowers from Jamie and led the way into the kitchen. “Let me get these in some water for you, and then I’m taking you out for dinner.”
“You are?” This was the first Jamie had heard about it.
She knew Siena hadn’t forgotten her birthday. She had made Jamie breakfast in bed before she had raced off to work that morning and promised a present tonight. But Jamie had almost convinced herself that Siena hadn’t even gotten her a present yet.
Right now, she still wasn’t entirely sure.
Siena had been a lot more distracted over the last few weeks, and Jamie had felt it like a reminder of the past. It wormed its way into her fears.
“Of course I am. I know I’ve been extra busy with work lately.” Something darker shadowed Siena’s eyes for a moment before she shook whatever it was away. “But it’s your birthday, and I want to spoil you rotten. ”
“Oh, do I have to change into something nicer, then?” Jamie looked down at her work attire and worried at the casualness of the outfit. At least in relation to whatever fancy restaurant Siena obviously had in mind.
“Nope. What you’re wearing is perfect.” Siena smiled as she finished with the flowers and gave Jamie a proper welcome home. Their lips slid across each other’s, and soon Jamie forgot all about the crappy things from the day and lost herself in Siena’s kiss.
“We better get going.” Siena stopped their kissing, but her lips remained on Jamie’s, the movement of her speech tickling Jamie’s lips.
“Do we have to?” Jamie purred, pressing her body a little closer to Siena’s.
“Any other day, I’d say no. But it’s your birthday, and I want to show you off to the world.”
“Hmm.” Jamie’s mind ticked over.
What in the hell did Siena have planned? First, she assumed a fancy restaurant, but now… Show her off to the world? Jamie felt lost.
“It’s okay. Trust me, I’ve got you.”
“I trust you. But that doesn’t mean your secret plans aren’t terrifying me.” Jamie chuckled, feeling the last of the tension from the day melt away.
The phone call she had overheard could have been nothing. She had returned home early and maybe Siena was just talking to Tori or something and wanted to make sure all her attention was on Jamie when she got home.
It didn’t seem entirely correct, but then again, it didn’t feel out of the realm of possibility either. She pushed away her internal critic and focused on the positives. Siena had made plans for her birthday, and who cared if the plans had only been made today? People forgot things all the time, and with the amount of work Siena had, Jamie was happy she’d been able to finish work early enough to take Jamie out for dinner.
When they arrived, Jamie turned to Siena, eyebrows furrowed and a question on the tip of her tongue. Siena laughed, threaded Jamie’s arm through her own, and walked toward the tapas bar.
“Trust me, Jamie. You’re going to love tonight.”
“You’re demanding this trust a little too much lately, Ms. Frazee.”
“Well, Ms. Kettlehouse…” Siena purred back, instantly willing to fall into the sexy and playful banter of the past. “I’m not the one who’s given you any reason not to trust me.”
“ Au contraire ,” Jamie retorted as they stepped inside and were surrounded by the ding and clatter of the busy tapas bar. “You’re an entertainment manager. I have zero reason to simply trust you.”
“Hmm.” Siena’s eyes smoldered as they turned to Jamie before turning back to the counter where she gave her name, and they were quickly led to a table.
“This is the same table,” Jamie said, unsure if it were coincidence or not.
“It is,” Siena said with a smile and glistening eyes.
Not a coincidence then.
“You’re recreating the first time we met?” Jamie’s stomach tightened at the mixed emotions she had from that night.
“Well, some of it.” Siena smiled, and Jamie’s underwear grew wet at the look Siena gave her.
“You’re such a romantic.” Jamie laughed, unsure if she was being sarcastic or not. Maybe a bit of both.
“You don’t like being here?” Siena asked, but there was something in her eyes, deeper and darker that held an understanding of Jamie. It sent shivers up her spine.
“It was a rather fantastic night if I remember correctly. For the most part. ”
“I know.” Siena reached over the table and took Jamie’s hand. “But tonight is all about changing the ending.”
“Oh really?” Jamie’s eyes widened, and her face couldn’t hide the hope and enjoyment of this moment that she felt inside.
“Really,” Siena said as she moved back for the three waiters who piled up the table with plates. “But why change how good the night started?”
“You’re definitely the sappy one in this relationship.” Jamie laughed. But the warmth in her chest reminded her how little she minded this in Siena.
“That’s okay. Love does tend to bring out the sappy in us mere mortals.”
They laughed and ate, and Siena confessed that the person who had stormed out on her that night wasn’t a girlfriend but a pushy client who had invited herself to dinner, and then threw a tantrum when Siena did not bow down to her unethical demands.
“Oh my God.” Jamie laughed. “That makes so much more sense now. I thought I had recognized her as well, but not enough to consider she might actually be in the industry.”
“I haven’t seen much from her since. I took her off of my books the next week when she not only went against my advice but name dropped D.Y.K.E. Management in a public lie.”
“Ooh.” Jamie hissed in a breath. “That wasn’t a clever move.”
“No, no it wasn’t.” Siena leaned back in her chair as though trying to stretch her stomach.
Jamie surveyed the table, impressed at how much the two of them had gone through while they talked. The waiters came and took away the crumbs they’d left of the meal.
“Jamie.” Siena took Jamie’s hands in her own as she spoke.
The trembling in Siena’s fingers made Jamie look up into Siena’s eyes. Worry curled around her chest as unshed tears pooled there.
“What’s wrong?” Jamie leaned forward, fear flooding through her.
“Nothing.” Siena managed to laugh, though a few tears slipped from her eyes. “Nothing’s wrong. Nothing’s been wrong since the moment I told you the truth about not wanting anything casual with you.”
“Why are you crying?” Jamie asked, her voice hoarse and foreign to her ears.
“Because I love you more than anything else in this world, and I want to have a drink with you.”
“A drink?” Jamie’s head couldn’t keep up. She had no idea where Siena was going with any of this, and her mind whirled with possibilities. Very few of those would meet with Siena’s approval with her no negative thoughts about yourself mantra.
“Yes.”
Siena moved back again, and a waiter placed a shot glass in front of Siena.
“I’ve loved you for so long, I hardly remember how it feels not to love you, not to be with you and share my life with you.” Siena kept talking as the waiter remained silently in his place by the table.
Jamie noted another shot glass on his tray, but he hadn’t moved to give it to her or to step away.
“Jamie.” Siena nodded and finally the waiter placed the shot glass on the table in front of Jamie and moved away. Siena raised her glass, and Jamie looked down to pick her own up.
And then she froze.
Her mouth fell open, and all the worries and fears fell into place. Had Siena been on the phone to someone here, organizing tonight? She looked up and all the emotions on Siena’s face made sense.
“Oh my God,” Jamie managed to stutter out .
“Will you marry me?” Siena held up her shot glass, her shoulders stilled as though holding her breath.
Jamie scooped up the glass and clinked Siena’s own waiting in the air. “Of course I will.”
Siena’s questioning expression morphed into pure bliss.
They took their shots, Jamie carefully ensuring the ring in her glass stayed in the glass before she put the thing back down, and Siena moved out of her chair, scooped up the ring and put it gently on Jamie’s finger.
“I love you.”
“I love you, too,” Jamie said as their lips met, and they held each other as though they might literally never let each other go again.
“The night’s not over,” Siena whispered into Jamie’s ear, pulling her lobe into her mouth.
Jamie moaned and closed her eyes. “No?”
“I believe room 312 is waiting for our check-in.”
“What?” Jamie laughed, joy and pleasure fighting it out within her.
“Mm-hmm.” Siena nodded and took Jamie’s hand, leading her toward the exit, a nod over Jamie’s shoulder to the man behind the counter and they were gone.
Siena had barely stepped through the door of room 312 when Jamie grabbed her and pinned her to the wall, kicking the door closed behind her.
“This time,” Jamie said as she nibbled her way along Siena’s jawline and down her throat. “I get to play first.”
Siena groaned her agreement.
Jamie’s body and heart were on fire. She would get to marry the woman of her dreams, the woman who made her wet on a daily basis, the woman who made her the best version of herself, and the woman who believed in her while also refusing to take her shit.
Jamie’s breath increased as she found the hem of Siena’s shirt and danced her fingers up to Siena’s breasts. The shock of skin made Jamie’s breath catch.
“No bra?” Jamie asked as she cupped a breast, fondling it as her fingers found the nipple and rolled it until it pebbled, making Siena’s breath increase.
“You don’t approve?”
“Oh, I highly approve.”
Jamie made short work of Siena’s shirt as she pulled it off and found the perfect body of her fiancée beneath. It’d take a while for that truth to truly settle in, but she was looking forward to it. Siena’s hand tangled into Jamie’s hair as she took one nipple into her mouth while her other hand slid down Siena’s body and moved just a fraction into the waistband.
“Bed?” Siena panted out.
“All in good time,” Jamie murmured around Siena’s breast.
She unzipped Siena’s pants and pushed down both pants and underwear, helped urgently by Siena’s insistent hands.
“Eager are you, Ms. Frazee?”
“For your touch, Ms. Kettlehouse? Always.”
“Good, now turn over.”
“What?” Siena opened her eyes, and she looked at Jamie, her body stilling.
“You heard me.” Jamie smirked. “Be a good girl and turn around for me.”
Siena pulled Jamie into a deep tongue-fucking kiss before releasing her and slowly turning around to face the wall.
“Such a good girl.” Jamie stood on tiptoes to whisper into Siena’s ear. “Now let’s see just how much of a good girl you can be.”
Siena groaned as Jamie pulled Siena’s naked ass against her crotch, pulling Siena away from the wall just a little .
“Hands on the wall,” Jamie said as she held onto Siena’s hips, ensuring she didn’t step any closer to the wall. Siena did as requested, and Jamie felt the pool of heat drench her underwear. “You’re so fucking sexy.”
Jamie ground her hips in slow circles against Siena’s ass as she snaked one hand around Siena’s hip and played with the wet curls above her clit.
“Oh, fuck.” Siena moaned as she pushed her ass hard against Jamie’s crotch.
Jamie groaned in reply and nearly gave in immediately, but she was enjoying this far too much. With one hand still gripping Siena’s hip, Jamie continued to tease Siena as her fingers brushed through wet curly hair, drawing closer to the heat that radiated from Siena’s opening.
“Please,” Siena begged, the word coming out long and guttural.
“Good girl. Beg for me.” Jamie kept grinding circles against Siena’s ass, her own need building and throbbing between her thighs.
“Oh baby, please, please fuck me. Please.” Siena begged and despite Jamie’s enjoyment of it and desire to make it last longer, her own craving to be inside Siena won out.
She circled Siena’s entrance with her fingers.
“Do you want me to be inside you?”
“Yes. Oh fuck, please, please, yes.”
Jamie slid two fingers easily inside, and without any more intelligible words, she fucked Siena against the wall until Siena came with a loud scream and a shaking of her legs.
“Oh God.” Siena laughed as her legs wobbled.
“Come on, baby.” Jamie led Siena to the bed and gently pushed her onto her back.
“Give me a second, and then it’s my turn.”
“Oh.” Jamie laughed and shook her head. “No, it’s not. I believe from memory, it was three orgasms. ”
“What?” Siena asked.
But before she could do or say anything else, Jamie dropped to her knees and shoved her face into Siena’s wet pussy.
She would make sure that tonight, they did it right. And no one would leave here without being fully satisfied.
