Page 104 of His True Mate
His muscles spasmed all over as he slowly shifted fully back to his human form.
The tension in the room slowly subsided.
“Hot damn!” Lily cheered. “Nothing makes me hornier than my man going all Alpha like that.”
“Lily, no. Please. Baby brother,” Clara reminded her.
“I get it. It’s definitely a turn on. Ew, gross, what am I saying? Not him. Oliver,” Peyton insisted. “I love when my mate gets all growly like that.”
“Girl, me too,” Lily admitted. “Might as well start planning my next baby shower. Cammie and Audrey need a baby brother anyway and mama’s about to go home and see they get one, right now.”
Thomas winked at her.
“Isn’t Audrey only a few months old?” Kate asked.
Lily shrugged. “We’re going to have a big family. Why wait? Come on big guy. Your mom’s got the girls for another two hours.”
“James and Austin will see them to the border and we’ll up patrols for the next few days,” Thomas said. “Are you okay, Clay?”
“Yeah, but I think you all should leave. I’m fine. I promise.”
He hesitated but then much to my surprise, Thomas nodded.
“Come on, give them some space to work things out,” he ordered.
“Are you going to growl for me, big boy?” Lily asked.
“You know it, Slugger.”
“Ew,” Ruby said shaking her head as Thomas and Lily left and the others followed.
“I just want to say how sorry I am for my part in all of this.”
“Ruby, you have nothing to apologize for. You’ve been a really good friend to me since I arrived here. None of this is your fault.”
“I really hope you two work things out. I’m rooting for you.”
She gave me a quick hug and then left behind the others.
“Do you really think Lily’s going to drag him home to make another baby?”
“Yes, but I don’t want to talk about Lily and Thomas.”
The way he looked at me sent a thrilled right up my spine.
My mouth went dry, and a small smirk tipped my lips.
I caught him staring, so I licked them.
Clay
Chapter 23
My wolf was still on edge, but when Winnie licked her lips, all conscious thought left me.
Today had been filled with ups and downs. I’d never in my life felt so out of control. I needed this woman more than I needed air to breathe.
My chest rose and fell, heavy with anticipation.
