Page 102 of His True Mate
I knew Clay was strong, but Dane was a full Alpha.
“Zeb, Rendall, grab her and let’s get the hell out of here.”
They came out of nowhere, each grabbing me by an arm and dragging me towards the door.
I screamed.
Clay moved in to protect me, but they were fast, and Dane cut him off quickly.
“She’s not yours. You can’t just come into my territory and take her without knowing I’d be coming to get her.”
Clay roared. “She’s mine! My mate!”
“You know, I could say the same thing about you,” Thomas said from the back porch door.
I jumped. I had no idea he was there.
Zeb and Rendall froze.
I could feel Rendall’s fear and anger rolling off of him in waves, but Zeb was shaking and immediately let me go.
I jerked my arm away and ran to the other side of the room, behind Clay once more.
One by one the Six Pack walked in and covered his back. The girls piled into the room next but stayed close to the door when Thomas shot them all a look of warning.
“Who the hell are you?” Dane demanded.
“Thomas Collier and you’re trespassing in my territory.”
“Oh shit!” Zeb said nearly shitting his pants.
Dad put his hands in the air but kept himself between Mom and Thomas, much like Clay had done for me.
“What is going on here?” Thomas’s voice boomed. “And who the hell are you people?”
I started to answer, but Clay silenced me with one look.
Dane stepped forward. “Dane. I’m Winnie’s Alpha and I’m here to take her home.”
Thomas just stood there staring at him until the entire room started to become uncomfortable.
“I don’t want no trouble.”
“Should have thought about that before you set foot in my territory without permission.”
“I’m just here for what’s mine and I’ll be on my way. We all will.”
“Then take your people and leave.”
Dane nodded towards me, silently telling Rendall and Zeb to get me.
They took a step forward, but Clay covered me and snarled at them in warning. I could already see fur starting to sprout up his arms.
The rest of the Six Pack closed in around me until I couldn’t even see what was happening.
“I said takeyoursand leave.”
“What the hell do you think I’m trying to do?” Dane asked realizing too late it was the wrong thing to say.
