Chapter fourteen

Cecilia

Desperate for fireworks. So, so desperate.

~ Four Days Later ~

The weekend passed in a blur. After wishing good night to Silas, I ran to my room, needing a secluded place to gather my thoughts. And as he requested, I filled myself a warm bubble bath for my sore body.

Once in the water, my mind kept replaying the night, from the skating to being pressed against the wall as he whispered the filthy things he imagined doing to me. Things I wanted him to do to me.

I let my hand slip down my body to my sticky center and pleasured myself to the image of Silas fulfilling those promises. I was already so wet—thanks to him—that my panties were soaked through when I removed them.

When I eventually stepped out of the tub and looked at my reflection in the mirror, little bite marks lined the side of my neck. It should have disturbed me. No one had ever bitten me like he did; no one had ever talked to me the way he had. Yet all it did was make my arousal resurface.

Saturday was dedicated to groceries and a deep clean, and Sunday Emma and I used our spa gift cards and got the pampering of a lifetime. We then came home and performed our usual Sunday tradition, minus the face masks this time. It was a glorious and well-deserved day.

It’s now Tuesday afternoon, and Silas has his first home game tomorrow night. I can tell his mind is mostly focused on that by the way he’s been calling and texting less. But I get it, and I’m not mad. This is his career, and it’s important to him; I wouldn’t want it any other way.

I’m in the middle of research for a specific venue type a client has requested when my phone alerts me of a new notification. I pick it up to see who it’s from, and a smile instantly spreads over my lips when I read Silas’s name.

Big Guy

What are you doing tonight?

Me

Sleeping, you?

Big Guy

HA. HA. Smartass. Wink emoji

I giggle to myself. I like messing with him a little. I lean back against my desk chair with my phone in hand.

Me

Thank you. Smiling emoji But if you were asking if I had any plans tonight, the answer is no.

Big Guy

Good, I want to take you somewhere.

Me

Shouldn’t you be relaxing tonight to be fully rested tomorrow?

Big Guy

Seeing my girl will relax me. And anyway, I sleep better after spending time with you. So you would only be helping me out.

Me

Wow, is that the only reason you keep me around? So that you can have a decent night’s sleep? I feel used. Open mouth emoji

I smile at my last message. He knows I’m joking, and even if it were true, I wouldn’t mind. I enjoy being around him, too.

Big Guy

Oh, trust me, baby. That’s not the only reason I keep you around, and I just can’t wait to show you the others. I’ll be the one feeling used by the end. Wink emoji

Me

Dirty boy. Smirking emoji

Big Guy

You have no idea. Blowing kiss emoji

Big Guy

I’ll pick you up at seven, and you’re free to dress up all you want. Heart emoji

Me

Can’t wait. Heart emoji

With thirty minutes left until Silas picks me up, I’m a mess.

I’m ready to go, but my mind is all over the place.

I keep thinking back to what he said the other night about wanting to kiss me.

About my mind, heart, and body not being on the same page.

He’s right. A part of me is still holding back because I’m afraid of what it will mean to fully let go. To give myself away to him completely.

I don’t want to be afraid. I don’t want to hold back anymore, but that doesn’t stop me from feeling this way. It’s like my body knows the minute I give in, life as I know it will cease to exist. It won’t just be me anymore, it will be Silas and me.

It’s why I didn’t kiss him myself last time. I wanted to. God, did I want to. But I know that the instant it happens, the moment I let his lips take mine, I won’t be the same. I’ll forever be ruined. Forever his.

A kiss from Silas Hayes won’t be like every other boy I’ve kissed in the past. No, this one will be different. This one will change everything. It will be earth-shattering, and heart-stopping, soul-shaking. He will devour me entirely, consume me. He’ll become my favorite drug. My addiction.

And I’m ready to let it consume me.

I’m touching up my makeup in my en suite when I hear voices coming from the kitchen.

“Cece! Your man is here!” Emma yells in a singsong manner.

I exit the bathroom and walk over to the full-length mirror. My hair has been curled to perfection, long brown locks hanging down my back.

I decided on a long-sleeve, knee-length black dress.

From my shoulders to my waist, it’s perfectly fitted lace, and the bottom is made of sheer chiffon that flares out.

It has a scooped neckline, keeping my girls fully covered.

As big as they are, they don’t need any more attention.

Although, I’m pretty sure Silas wouldn’t mind.

My makeup is a little bit heavier than usual, but still not extreme. Light bronze eye shadow, cat eye eyeliner, mascara, and nude lipstick. This will be the first time he sees me like this, and I’m anxious. What if he doesn’t like a girl with makeup?

Satisfied with my reflection, I grab the pair of black platform stiletto pumps I had left by the door and slip my feet in.

These heels are so high I rarely wear them in fear of falling. But I thought it would be nice to stand a little taller next to Silas, and if anything happens, I know he’ll catch me.

Picking up my small clutch from my desk, I draw in some air and exhale heavily through the mouth before grabbing the door handle and making my way to my man.

When I reach the kitchen, they’re in the midst of a conversation. It takes a moment before someone turns my way, Emma being the first. She takes one look at me and whistles loudly with a knowing smirk. She knows without me needing to tell her what my plan is tonight.

Operation seduce Silas Hayes.

Silas picks up on Em’s reaction and turns my way. “Holy fuck...” His heated gaze travels down my body, then back up. It’s so strong, I feel like he’s physically touching me.

“Hey, Big Guy,” I say in a sultry voice as I bite my lip.

His eyes zone in on my lips, and I watch his throat work as he swallows. He pulls on the collar of his dress shirt, undoing the first button. “Fuck, Minnie.”

He brings his fist up to his mouth and bites down on his knuckle, followed by scrubbing his face with his hands, then passing them through his hair as he pulls on the ends. It’s like he’s undecided about what to do with his hands but needs to keep them occupied.

He finally moves from his spot and comes to me. My hand reaches out on its own toward his, to which he takes eagerly. “Baby, you look incredible,” he says as he checks me out once more.

“Yeah? You like?”

His eyes widen as they come back up to my face, shocked in disbelief that I would ask such a question.

“Do I like it!? I fucking love it!” He wraps me in his arms, one hand in my hair and the other on my ass.

“On second thought, I think we should stay in tonight. Yeah, that sounds like a better plan.” He starts walking me backward in the direction of my room.

“What do you think you’re doing?” I ask while laughing.

“Taking you to bed.”

“SILAS!” I laugh harder and swat his chest, concentrating on not losing my balance.

He finally stops his march and smiles down at me, a little chuckle escaping him. “You know I’m just joking, right?”

I beam back at him. “Of course, I do.” And it’s the truth, I do. Although for a second, I did wish he wasn’t.

He grabs my face between both palms and lowers slightly less than usual to kiss the tip of my nose. I love when he does that. “All right, we should get going. I’m excited for you to see what I have planned. I hope you’ll like it.”

“I’m sure I’ll love it.”

Barely ten minutes after leaving the underground parking, the car stops. But I have no idea where we are because Silas has me blindfolded, wanting me to enjoy the surprise to the fullest. The engine shuts off, and I hear his car door open and then close. Seconds later, mine is being opened.

“You ready, Baby?”

My hands shake in anticipation as they reach up to find him. “Yes.”

We walk for a little while, slowly given my blind state, and Silas carries me every time there are steps. There are voices around us, and I can practically hear their murmured questions. It makes a blush grow on my cheeks.

We get to a quieter section, and someone whispers directly to us. Well, to Silas. “Good evening, Mr. Hayes. Everything is ready for you. If you’ll just follow me through here.”

“Thank you,” Silas replies, still holding my right hand in his right and his left on my lower back, guiding me once more. We suddenly stop, and I hear sliding doors opening.

“Have a wonderful time,” the man guiding us says.

We take a couple of steps forward, passing the doors as they shut behind us. “Ready?” Silas whispers in my ear.

I nod, emotions taking over my speech. He removes my blindfold, and I’m instantly hit with flashing lights from every direction. We’re in an elevator heading up, the walls around us covered entirely with mirrors, making the light show seem as if it goes on to infinity.

I’m completely in shock, mesmerized by what’s happening around me. I spin in a circle looking around in every direction. I turn back to Silas with my mouth gaping, a big goofy smile running from ear to ear. “Oh my God! This is amazing, Silas!”

He smiles brightly down at me. “You’re beautiful,” is all he says, and it’s perfect. My insides twist in the best way, my heart pounding a little harder. I love when he says things like that.
