CHAPTER 50
ALEXEI
Finally my seat comes around and Keith opens up the door.
“Thanks boss.” I salute him.
No one else ever goes in my seat. I pay good money to make sure.
It’s basically my office, and a bit of gun storage. You never know when you might need a random supply of weapons here.
I lead Lara in and she sits next to me, wrapping my arm over her shoulder. I pull her snug against me as she rests her head on my pec.
Her hand rubs up and down on my jeans and my dick is twitching with need.
“Last bite. You want it?” I hold the cotton candy in front of her.
“Nope, go for it.”
Hmm. She’s hardly eaten today. Since Sofia made the comment about her eating habits, I did a lot of research. Well, I’ve hyper fixated on it while she sleeps.
I just don’t know the best way to approach it with her. I don’t want to push her away. She’s a runner, she always has been.
And every time I try to talk to her, she seems to go back to eating. I haven’t heard her throw up since we’ve been staying with each other every night.
But I think Sofia is right. Lara’s face dropped when I mentioned candy. It’s like I could hear her brain trying to work out whether she should eat it or not.
I’m struggling to wrap my own head around it. She’s so perfect as she is. No matter what her weight is. I’ve never looked at her any different, to me she is always my beautiful girl.
The one who stole my heart.
“So this is your thinking spot?” she asks, looking up at me.
Damn, I love that smile.
“Yep. I could change the world from up here.”
“What was the last big thinking thing you did up here?”
I tap the side of my head.
“Most recently. Well, now. I was thinking about how much I love Lara Volkov. And how beautiful and perfect she is in every single way. Far far too good for a brute like me. Except, I could never let her go so she’s stuck with me loving her… for eternity.”
She sits herself up, the shock on her face as her mouth drops open.
“Did Jax punch you again? You can’t have many more brain cells to lose.”
“Hey!” I dive at her, tickling her sides as I lift her effortlessly, so she straddles my lap.
Bad move. Dick engaged.
“I love you, pchelka. It’s you. It’s always been you. It will always be you.”
It feels right saying it out loud. I’ve always known she was mine. I never imagined it would be this good.
Twirling a tendril of hair around my finger, her eyes start to water but a smile erupts on her face.
“I’ve been in love with you for a long, long time, Alexei. Please never stop being you. Never stop making me laugh, or being your crazy self. I love you for everything you are. And I’ll love you until I take my last breath.”
She places her hand over my rapid heart.
“Trust me. You won’t be taking your last breath before me.”
I can’t even think about anything happening to her. I still wake up in the night seeing how I found her.
Never again.
“Does that make me your girlfriend?”
Picking up her hand, I press a kiss on each of her fingers.
“I’ve never had one of those. I want everything with you, baby. Question is, what if I can’t give you that picture perfect life you used to talk about years ago?”
She pulls back and tilts her head.
“No. That’s a life that’s created for everyone else to watch. We’ve never fit in with society's standards, why would we start now? My perfect life is simply just being with you. Nothing more, nothing less. You are my happy place and we can do whatever the hell we want with our future.”
Her answer makes my chest hurt. I’m her happy place.
“You wanna go skydiving with me? Steal more flamingos? Wash the blood out of my hair? Hide the bodies with me? Let me eat you out on my bike whenever I need to?”
She bites down on her lip.
“Yes. All of it. All of your crazy, Alexei. I don’t love you despite it, I love you for it.”
Lacing my fingers around her throat, I drag her closer and kiss her so damn hard.
She pulls away breathless and traces her nail along my throat. “Now, did you say something about eating me out on your bike?”
I lick my lips.
“Damn right.”
