CAPONE

ONE MONTH LATER

Big Red and Alice’s Wedding Reception

“They look so happy,” Giovanna cooed in my arms. The entire club, plus the Louisiana and Tennessee chapters, was gathered around the dance floor as we watched Red and Alice share their first dance as husband and wife.

Paul was generous enough to allow them to be married at his hotel in Orlando, free of charge. Their ceremony took place in the garden. It was something right out of a fairy tale. In all the years I’d known Red, I had never seen him happier than when he said, “I do.”

Being here only made me impatient to have a wedding of my own. Giovanna and I had agreed to wait six months. With the opening of the bakery, settling into my job, Gabi and the puppies, our plates were beyond full. We needed to get settled into a routine before we could start planning a wedding.

So far, everything had been smooth. The bakery was booming.

Every time I went there, it was a wraparound line of people.

Giovanna’s baked goods were a hit, and the town had been buzzing about it since day one.

On the day of her grand opening, she received flowers from Danny, apologizing on behalf of his family for how they had treated her.

He also begged that she wouldn’t keep Gabi away from him.

Giovanna didn’t believe he was a hundred percent sincere with his apology, but she didn’t care either way.

She had no plans of blocking Derek’s family from having a relationship with Gabi, but she was done with them.

After dealing with constant drama from her father and Derek’s family, she just wanted to enjoy the bubble of happiness that I gave her.

Meanwhile, things with my family were going great.

My parents came back to visit after the grand opening.

They were here for almost a week, getting to know everyone at the club.

Even though I knew my father would never admit it, the club life had grown on him a little bit.

I never thought I would be in the place I was with my father, but I couldn’t be happier. Everything in my life was perfect.

“And soon that’ll be us. I can't wait to make you Mrs. Ferrari.” I spun Giovanna in my arms before taking her lips in a kiss.

“Alright, break it up, you two. Somebody wants to say goodnight.”

Breaking the kiss, I turned around and saw Crystal standing there with Gabi in her arms, who was giggling, watching her mother and me.

“You getting ready to head out with the kids?” I asked.

“Yup. The brothers have been tossing the drinks back, so I know you all are about to get wild.”

I nodded my head and chuckled. She was absolutely right. From the moment we stepped foot in this ballroom, the brothers made a beeline for the bar.

“Bye, Mommy. Bye, Pony. I love you.”

Giovanna and I took turns embracing her before giving her back to Crystal. We watched Crystal and Paul usher all the kids out of the ballroom. They would be staying in the penthouse suite tonight.

“Come on, Sugar. Let’s go dance.”

We made our way to the dance floor that was filled with couples. Will and his date, Zack, were dancing and grinding on each other so hard it was almost soft porn. Crystal was spot-on when she said things were about to get wild.

As everyone was dancing and having a good time, Tech stumbled onto the dance floor. He lost his footing, and his drink went flying all over Zack. His white buttoned-down shirt was now brown, and he looked furious.

“Shit, man! This is Versace!” Zack shouted.

Tech stared at him with a blank expression. “My bad.”

“Your bad?! You’re going to pay for this.”

“Are you asking me or telling me?” Tech stepped forward with a look I had never seen from him. There was a promise of violence.

“Not here, Tech. This is Red and Alice’s wedding. Walk away,” Viper ordered.

Tech slowly nodded before stumbling away. Zack no longer looked pissed but a bit fearful.

I knew exactly what was going on. I had been suspicious for months, but that little scene confirmed what I had been thinking.

You didn’t come from the kind of upbringing I did, and not pay attention to your surroundings.

Tech gave himself away too many times for me not to catch on.

He and Will were either a thing or he wanted them to be.

I didn’t bring my suspicions up to any of the guys because it wasn’t my place or business.

All I could do was watch this lover's quarrel unfold until Tech was ready to be honest with himself and us.

“Come on, Zack, let's go get you cleaned up,” Will suggested.

“No. You stay. I’ll go. I told you I didn’t want to party with a bunch of bikers, but you insisted they were good people!” he hissed.

I shook my head at the stupidity of this man. Not only did he just insult us, but he did it while standing in a room with over fifty of us. Before any of us could get at him, Will did.

“Oh, now you can definitely go, and lose my number in the process.” Will placed a hand on his hip and pointed at the door with the other.

Zack scoffed and made his way out. On the way, a few brothers shoulder bumped, pushed, and shoved him for good measure. I knew we wouldn’t be seeing him around again.

Once Zack was gone, it was like none of the drama had taken place.

We danced for hours while drinking our asses off.

I knew my woman was beyond tipsy when she took her heels off and told me to hold them.

Her ass and my crotch had been connected for far too long.

I was ready to get out of here and have my way with her.

“You ready, honey?” she purred as she threw her arms around my neck.

“You already know I am. I know you can feel that,” I said as I pulled her closer.

“I do feel that. But I would much rather feel it somewhere else.” She smiled devilishly while discreetly rubbing me through my slacks.

“That’s it. You’re about to get it,” I promised as I swooped her up bridal style.

“Promise?”

I didn’t say a word. I looked deep into her eyes so she could see I meant business. A satisfied smirk stretched across my lips when I felt her shiver. As we made our way out of the ballroom, cheers and catcalls were made. Giovanna blushed before burying her face in my neck.

Sometimes I still couldn’t believe that three months ago, I was single and living what I thought was my best life.

From the moment Giovanna walked into that conference room, she owned me.

My life had never been better. I couldn’t even remember a time when I wasn’t smiling.

I didn’t know what I did to deserve her or Gabi, but I would spend the rest of my life proving that I was worthy of loving and protecting them.
