“Well, I don’t think you’d be okay with it, per se.”

“I’m not.” She shook her head.

“Do you promise to keep whatever I tell you between us?” I reached out and linked her hand in mine.

“Who would I tell? I’m not planning on ruining my career.”

“That’s not entirely what I mean.”

“What do you mean then?”

I was just going to lay it all out there. A take it or leave it situation. “Carrie and I are married, but it’s not your traditional marriage.”

She tilted her head slightly as if to process what I was saying. “Meaning your swingers, and therefore it’s okay for you to have sex here?”

I laughed. “Kinda.”

“Kinda?”

I took a deep breath. “I came to the States on a school VISA.” She scrunched her eyebrows. “After college, I was to return to Leeds, but I didn’t want to go back, and Carrie didn’t want me to go back, so we came up with a plan.”

“To get married?” Peyton asked.

I nodded. “Yeah, we got married a week later at the Courthouse, and I eventually got a Green Card.”

She went silent, staring at me with her beautiful mocha eyes. “So you’re only married so you can stay in the U.S.?”

I nodded.

“Okay. I get why you would do that, but why would Carrie?”

I grinned. “Because she’s my best mate and we both like pussy.”

Peyton’s eyes widened. “She’s a lesbian?”

I nodded again.

“But women can get married to each other,” she countered.

“Now they can, but not nine years ago.”

“You’ve been married for nine years?” she exclaimed.

“Fuck, I guess so.” I chuckled.

“But four or so years ago same-sex marriages became legal in California.”

“Yeah…”

“And you’re still married.”

“You want me to be deported?” I joked. That wouldn’t be the case. I would apply to become a citizen before I’d let that happen.

Peyton laughed. “No, but you’re telling me that Carrie hasn’t found someone else to be with?”

I shrugged. “She’s had relationships, but most don’t live the same lifestyle.”

“You mean wanting to go to a sex club?”
