“We haven’t been over shit.” I broke free from his grasp and started to walk away. “You’re an asshole. End of story.”
He smirked, and I rolled my eyes, still walking away. Lorelei started to follow me, but she was looking back and forth between us as she walked.
“Where are you going dressed like that?” Sam inquired.
I turned around, walking backward. “To have a threesome.”
Lorelei sucked in a breath again, and I grinned at Sam then turned around to continue to the elevator. I could feel Sam looking at me as we stood, waiting for the car to arrive. I knew he was there because I hadn’t heard him go inside his condo. Once Lore and I were in the elevator, and the doors started to close, my eyes met his. The look he gave me told me that what we were doing wasn’t over. I was a challenge for him, and he obviously wasn’t used to one.
Once we were out of sight from Sam, Lorelei turned to me. “If you don’t tell me what the hell that was about, I will quit C&P on Monday.”
I looked up at the lighted panel ceiling. “We don’t have time to get into it.”
“Pey, you better make time. That shit was intense. Fuck, I didn’t even know you’d ever talked to him except for hello.”
Once we were on the ground floor, the doors opened. I saw Ava’s limo parked on the street in front of my building as we exited. “I promise to tell you everything tomorrow. Ava’s here.”
“Give me theCliff Notesversion for now.”
I stopped walking before we exited to go outside. I didn’t want Ava to hear anything to do with my personal life. “Sam was being Sam and screwing some chick on Friday like I’d told you. I got fed up, banged on his wall to stop, and then he showed up at my door and asked me to join them.”
Lorelei’s mouth dropped open. She was speechless again.
“I turned him down because I wasn’t going to be involved in that shit, and he obviously can’t take no for an answer.”
“But… But you’ve thought he was hot for three years,” she stammered.
I shrugged. “That was before I knew he only thought with his dick.”
She sucked in a deep breath as if to calm her excitement. “Okay. We have a lot to talk about. Therefore, I’m coming over for lunch tomorrow, and you’re telling meeverything.”
I smiled. “All right, but don’t forget I have dinner with my folks tomorrow night,” I reminded her. Once Lorelei started to gossip, it could last for hours and I really did have to be at my parents by five for dinner.
“I also want you to text me when you’re home tonight.”
“What if I don’t come home?” I smirked.
She grinned, a look of approval in her eye. “Fine. Be safe, and I wantallthe details tomorrow. And I meanallof them.”
We said our goodbyes as the limo driver opened the back door for me to slide in.
“Hey,” Ava greeted.
I smiled back. “Hi.”
She handed me a glass of bubbly champagne. “Love the shoes.”
I took the glass from her. “How can you see them?” I laughed and looked down at the dark floor.
“I saw them while you were talking to Lorelei. I might need to steal them.” She grinned.
“Over my dead body.” I took a sip of the tart goodness. “Do I look okay, though?”
Ava was dressed in a red, halter top dress. Her blonde hair was down and curled, and her shoes were black Louboutins without the spikes on the back.
I felt the car moving as she spoke. “You’re perfect. Some girls wear corsets with skirts. Some wear bras with skirts. Really, you can wear whatever you feel sexy in.”
“So I should have only worn the heels?” I joked.
