Story: CeCe Sloan is Swooning
“Okay?”
“I may have had sex from time to time with people, but that was a long time ago and I never let anyone stay at my home. I didn’t want you to think I was an asshole and expected you to spend the night with me because of the weekend or—”
“The back room at the salon?” CeCe asked.
“Yes. I want you, it’s true. But I also want to fall asleep with you in my arms and wake up in yours. That’s new for me.”
CeCe smiled and put her hand on Alexis's cheek. “I want that too. I was kind of teasing about your heart earlier, but it makes me angry that someone hurt you so much that you closed it off. I want your heart to feel good emotions again because you make my heart happy, Alexis.”
Alexis smiled. “The moon is about to disappear behind the buildings. Let’s take one more look then can we go home?”
CeCe nodded and brought their lips together in a sweet kiss. Alexis deepened the kiss for just a moment and hoped CeCe could feel the happiness she put in Alexis's heart.

“Thank you for dinner, the wine, and the show,” CeCe said as Alexis drove them out of the parking garage.
“The show?”
“Yes, it was amazing how the moon and planets lined up perfectly between the buildings.” CeCe reached for Alexis's hand and took it into both of hers. “You are so talented, Dr. Reed, I wouldn’t have been surprised if you orchestrated the entire thing.”
Alexis laughed. “I have no control over the moon and stars.”
“I don’t know about that,” CeCe said softly. She believed Alexis Reed could do anything she set her mind to. “You’ve become quite adept at making my heart swoon and that can be difficult to do.”
“Can it?”
CeCe chuckled. “Yes, it can, but not for you.”
Alexis smiled and quickly glanced at CeCe. “Hmm, I wonder what’s going on then. We seem to make each other happy.”
CeCe squeezed her hand and grinned. This was new for them both, but right now CeCe didn’t want to think about that; she wanted to enjoy it.
“Hey, speaking of happiness, do you go to the hospital every day?”
“Yes, that’s where the operating room is,” Alexis replied.
“Don’t be a smartass. You don’t perform surgery every day.”
“You’re right, I don’t, but I do go to the hospital every day to check on my patients or for other things.”
“I’m going to be at your hospital in a couple of weeks,” CeCe stated.
“You are?” CeCe could feel Alexis's concerned eyes glance her way. “Is something wrong?”
“No, babe, I’m fine. I do a makeover event for the women in the oncology department. Patients, nurses, and staff are included. I’d love for you to come by and see me when I’m there.”
“Of course I’ll come by. Tell me about it,” Alexis said.
“I get a group of stylists together to do facials, manicures, and pedicures. We also do hair for some patients and the nurses and staff. Not all patients lose their hair.”
“I’d heard about this program, but didn’t know you did it! That’s incredible, baby!”
CeCe smiled “Never in a million years did I ever dream that Dr. Alexis Reed would be calling me ‘baby.’”
“It just slipped out! Is there something else you’d rather I call you?”
“No, baby!” CeCe teased. “I love it,” she added softly.
