Story: CeCe Sloan is Swooning
Alexis took her hand. “I’m not a very good dancer.”
CeCe took her into her arms and whispered into her ear, “I’ve been waiting to dance with you since Melanie invited us. Can you hold me?”
Alexis nodded.
“Play us a slow song, Krista,” CeCe yelled over her shoulder.
“This is one of the first songs I ever sang to Melanie,” Krista said as the first notes of Madonna’s “Crazy For You” began to play.
CeCe looked into Alexis's eyes and smiled. “I think I know how Krista feels. I’m kind of crazy for you, Lex.” She pulled Alexis even closer and nuzzled her neck as they slowly moved to the music.
“There’s no ‘kind of’ to it for me. I am crazy for you,” Alexis whispered.
CeCe closed her eyes and let the music take her away. She’d remember this as one of the most romantic moments of her life. Here she was, dancing with an incredible woman, surrounded by more amazing women who treated her as a friend. Times like this didn’t happen to her. She happily sighed.
As if reading her mind, Alexis whispered, “You’re not Cinderella, Cecilia. You belong here, with me.”
CeCe raised her head and looked at Alexis. Those soft brown eyes made her feel like she was surrounded by a velvet hug. Maybe she did belong here, but more importantly, maybe there was a chance for her and Alexis after all.
CeCe leaned in and softly kissed Alexis. “I’m all yours,” she said with a smile.
Alexis's eyes brightened with desire and a sexy smile crossed her face.
The song ended and the sound of Whitney Houston’s “I’m Your Baby Tonight” began to fill the air.
CeCe and Alexis laughed and danced around the room with the others. The group took a break to have dinner and laughter filled the air. Just as Alexis said, CeCe did feel like she belonged there, but it was also a bit magical. What had started as a little sexy flirting had become an intense attraction between them, but tonight it felt like much more than just a fling.
CeCe rested her chin in her hand as she watched Alexis talking with Krista and Tara at the bar.
“You two fit together,” Lauren said, sitting next to CeCe.
“Excuse me?”
Lauren giggled. “You fit together,” she repeated. “Like Krista and Melanie, or Julia and Heidi.”
“Or you and Tara,” Julia added.
“Sometimes two people look like they belong together. That’s how you and Alexis look,” Lauren explained.
“Plus, the way you gaze at each other says a lot,” Julia said.
CeCe smiled. “Like we want to rip each other’s clothes off,” CeCe admitted. “We do have quite a pull towards one another, but it’s still very new.”
Lauren studied CeCe for a moment. “You know, when Tara and I first got together I didn’t think there was any way I could fit into her world.”
“Really?” CeCe asked.
“Yep, but I was wrong,” Lauren replied, smiling at CeCe. “Don’t get me wrong, there are some of her friends…”
“Who think their shit doesn’t stink,” Julia stated.
“Exactly, but those aren’t the people Tara wants to hang out with,” Lauren said. “She wants to hang out with people like us, like you and Alexis.”
“Who are nice,” Julia said.
“I wonder about Alexis's doctor friends. I mean, come on, I do hair,” CeCe said.
“I’m a realtor and my wife is a fucking movie star,” Lauren said, her eyes widening.
