Story: CeCe Sloan is Swooning
CeCe chuckled. “You didn’t ask. I don’t live far from here either. Do you know Marina Summit? She’s a realtor.”
“I don’t know her, but I do know her business partner, Victoria Stratton. They have a design firm that matches renovated houses with buyers. They do good work.”
“I couldn’t agree more. Marina found the cutest little house not far from here that her company had remodeled. I bought it.” CeCe shrugged. “Can you stay for another?”
Something was going on inside Alexis's mind. She knew the best thing to do would be to go home, but she didn’t want to leave. She wanted to learn more about the vivacious CeCe Sloan and this was the perfect opportunity.
“Could we have another at the salon?” Alexis asked, fingering the necklace that fell at her chest.
CeCe raised her brows and stared into Alexis's eyes. “Sure,” she replied with a seductive smile.
Alexis followed CeCe away from the bar and watched her snag a bottle of wine from a shelf as they walked by.
“Do we need to pay for that?” Alexis asked before they walked back into the salon.
“I’ve got it,” CeCe replied.
Alexis could feel a push and pull between them. What could be characterized as playful flirting at times now seemed more serious. It was as if they were daring one another, seeing if either of them was bold enough to make the first move. Bold? Or foolish?
At this point Alexis didn’t care. She was having too much fun watching CeCe swing her hips as they sauntered to the back room of the salon. Alexis had no doubt there was an extra sway or two just for her.
“You take this,” CeCe said, handing Alexis the bottle. “I’ll make sure everything is locked up.”
Alexis took the bottle and started down the hall.
“Oh, Lex. There’s a bottle opener in the top drawer next to the fridge. I’ll be right there.” CeCe grinned and walked back to the front of the salon.
“Damn,” Alexis muttered as she walked into the back room. “Did someone turn up the heat in here?” She smiled to herself as she found the bottle opener and made quick work of uncorking the wine.
After finding wine glasses in a cabinet, she set two out. As she poured the wine she realized that CeCe had called her Lex. She didn’t let anyone call her that, or Lexie or Alex. Why didn’t she correct her on the spot?
“Hey,” CeCe said, walking into the space. “You found the glasses, too.” She smiled and added, “Ryan just finished his last client and is locking up.”
Alexis handed CeCe a glass of wine then touched their glasses together. “You have to let me pay for this.”
CeCe took a sip and raised her brows. “No I don’t. Don’t worry about it, Doc. I get a discount.” She chuckled and moved to sit down on the couch.
Alexis followed her over and sat on the other end. She made a show of crossing her legs and watched CeCe take it all in. “Now I’ll tell you about the toy.”
CeCe’s face brightened. “Finally! I thought you were going to keep ignoring me.”
Alexis laughed and scooted a little closer. “That little toy is mighty powerful,” she said with a sly smile.
CeCe moved in closer and her eyes widened. “Tell me.”
Alexis sipped her wine but didn’t take her eyes off CeCe’s.
“Did you think of me when you used it?” CeCe asked softly.
Alexis took a deep breath, trying to calm her pounding heart. “CeCe Sloan, you are dangerous.”
CeCe scoffed. “No I’m not. You’re the dangerous one, Lex.”
There was that name again. “You know, I don’t let anyone call me that.”
A sexy smile crossed CeCe’s face. “You let me,” she said, cocking one eyebrow.
Alexis leaned over and ran one finger along CeCe’s cheek. She looked down at CeCe’s lips and back into her eyes. She could feel CeCe leaning closer when there was a knock at the door.
