“Yes she did,” Cat said, “and we brought a few products you may be interested in.” She set the bag on the table.

Melanie looked up at Cat and raised an eyebrow. “Are those from The Bottom Shelf?” she asked, her voice low and sultry.

Cat smiled. “Well, they’re not books.”

Melanie laughed as Krista brought the beers over and passed them around. “A toast to Cory since it’s your birthday, but also we’re so glad we’ve gotten to know all three of you.”

They all clinked their bottles together and drank.

“Sit down and let’s see what you’ve brought,” Melanie said.

They gathered around the table and Cat took several boxes out of the bag.

“When is the next group coming in?” Cory asked. “Maybe Cat should leave a few of these for your guests.”

Melanie chuckled. “Oh my God. Babe, can you imagine!”

Krista laughed. “Maybe one of these should be included in each cabin.”

“We could try it with the group that’s coming in on Wednesday,” Melanie suggested.

“That’s up to you and Julia, honey,” Krista said.

“Are you not going to be here?” Cory asked.

“I am, but I’m having a little procedure done Wednesday, so I’m taking the week off,” Krista explained.

“Oh? I hope it isn’t serious,” Cory commented.

“Not at all. I did not use sunscreen when I was a kid,” Krista said.

“But you sure knew how to wear that tan,” Melanie said, winking at Krista, who giggled.

CeCe watched this interaction and couldn’t help feeling a bit of longing, wishing she had a partner. How wonderful it must feel to look at one another and share a knowing glance like Krista and Melanie just did. Where did that come from!

“Anyway, my doctor wants me to have a suspicious mole and the surrounding tissue removed and one of the best surgeons in the country happens to practice right here,” Krista said.

Cory and Cat both looked at CeCe. “What?” Melanie asked.

“Is your surgeon Dr. Alexis Reed?” CeCe asked.

“It is! Do you know her?”

“Does she ever,” Cory mumbled.

“She’s one of my clients,” CeCe replied, giving Cory a harsh look.

“What am I missing?” Krista asked.

“I smell a story here. Come on girls, spill it,” Melanie said.

“Alexis is a brilliant surgeon who also has beautiful hair, thanks to my sister,” Cat said.

CeCe sighed. “Alexis is my client, but we’re also friends.”

“There is a mutual crush happening and we have ringside seats,” Cory said.

“Oh! CeCe, we love Alexis. She’s been out here a couple of times. Why don’t the two of you come out this weekend? Alexis can check on Krista and you can visit with me,” Melanie said.
