Page 30 of Skye's Fall
“I’m done,” she cries out. “Get me off this beast.”
“Get her off,” Sal says and Memphis runs out to Turbo.
That surprises me since Memphis and Turbo had a rocky start. Kara is crying as she makes her way to the seats while Kelsey is trying to calm her down.
“Victoria, you’re next,” Carlton says.
She looks petrified, but she holds on and manages to make it around the barrels.
“Two minutes,” Memphis calls out. She doesn’t look mad at all. She looks proud for at least completing it. I clap for her since she deserves it.
“Kelsey.”
“Not doing it,” she flat refuses.
“Very well. Alexa?”
“Nope, I’m good,” Alexa says. What chickens.
“Mallory,” Carlton gestures to Sammy.
“Gladly,” she gets ready, and Memphis calls out the numbers.
She takes the barrels with ease like she’s done this before.
“One minute,” Memphis calls out. Mallory should be proud of herself.
“Good job,” Mason congratulates her. It’s kind of sweet.
“Skye, you’re up.”
I mount Sammy, ready myself, and when the gate releases I take off like a bat out of hell. All I see is the starting line as I round that third barrel and head for home.
“Sixteen seconds,” Memphis calls out and I’m super proud of myself.
“You did awesome,” Mallory says as I pass Sammy off to Snow.
“Snow,” Carlton says.
“You’ll do just fine,” I encourage her. Linc pecks me on the cheek, causing me to blush.
Snow does it in thirty seconds.
Mckenna makes it in a minute as well.
“We will come up with a tie breaking competition between Alexa and Kelsey later. But we can’t leave the guys out. Guys, you’re going to cook your woman lunch. You have your stations set up with a stove, grill, everything you need. The only thing is the food to cook, so we’re all going into Atlanta to shop.” Carlton informs us that we are leaving the homestead.
The mean girls, as I’ve dubbed them, squeal in delight.
“Pipe down, ladies, it’s a grocery store,” Mckenna says.
“A what?”
“We’re going to a grocery store,” she repeats, and I want to laugh. These are the spoiled girls, I just know it.
“Can’t we just order it online?” Alexa complains.
“No, you have to pick a recipe out of this box in the order you completed the event and then your man has to cook it for you,” Carlton says as he walks up to me first. I look at every recipe and pick steak and potatoes with asparagus. I know it’s easy.
