Hannah
“Hannah, are you guys still working here?” Jumping in surprise, I look up to find Julian watching us from the door with a disapproving frown as he observes Fabian and me diligently working on our respective laptops.
Beside us are empty plates, and I wonder for a moment if Fabian and I actually ate, having been too focused on trying to find the pups sold by the hunters over the years.
“Uh… I think so,” I answer sheepishly, scratching the back of my head.
Julian growls in annoyance, stalking toward my desk.
I manage to quickly save what I was doing before he takes the laptop away, handing it to Fabian without looking back.
“You have been working all day. Saben, Savannah, and I need you now,” he says calmly, and I nod, getting up from my seat and rounding the desk to wrap my arms around my mate.
“Sorry, I’m just used to working hard without stopping to provide for Saben.” I sigh, breathing in Julian’s mango scent.
“I know that, Hannah, but you are not alone anymore. You don’t have to work so hard,” Julian reassures me, slowly rubbing my back. “Now come, we need to spend time with our pups and get our minds off the hunters and their little side project,” he adds.
Fabian sighs, and I blush, looking at my friend, who gives Julian and me an annoyed look that makes me giggle. “You two need to stop being so lovey-dovey. It’s annoying being a third wheel,” he mutters, making Julian and me laugh.
“Now you know how I felt when it was you, Miella, and I grabbing meals,” Julian shoots back cheekily, waving off Fabian and pulling me out of the office.
Fabian mutters something under his breath, but I’m already too far down the hall to catch what my friend says.
“Aileen has the pups,” I state after a few seconds, getting a hum of acknowledgment from Julian.
“I know,” Julian says. “I found her with our pups when I came looking for you. Aileen said that Saben wouldn’t leave Savannah once she woke up and was talking to her the whole time. She even sent us videos of our son holding his new sister,” he adds, pride evident in his voice as we reach our room.
I grin at this, pushing open the door to find my son sleeping on our bed with Savannah beside him, gripping his index finger in her little hand. Aileen notices us, her eyes meeting mine, but I hold a finger to my lips. I want to capture this little moment.
Carefully, I take out my phone and snap a few pictures. It seems our presence doesn’t go unnoticed as Savannah’s little eyes open, her gaze meeting mine. I smile at her, tucking my phone away, and gently lift the pup into my arms.
“Hi, princess,” I whisper to her, taking a seat on the bed. She babbles, the sound like a chiming bell, which wakes Saben up, my pup sleepily rubbing his eyes.
“Hey, bud,” Julian calls out, lifting Saben into his arms.
“Hi, Papa. Hi, Mama,” Saben says quietly with a yawn. “Did Mama finally stop working?” he asks.
My smile falters, and guilt creeps in at Saben’s words. I know he is used to me working, but I can’t help but feel like I am missing out on time with my son.
“She has. We were wondering if you wanted to have dinner with us,” Julian replies, Saben perking up at this.
“Can we get McDonald’s?” he asks, eyes wide with excitement.
I chuckle, instantly agreeing that we could, and I watch as my son wiggles from his father’s arms, tugging at Julian and telling him to hurry. After making sure everything will be fine while we’re gone, our little family of four heads out.

Watching Saben run around the playground inside McDonald’s, I imagine what it will be like when Savannah is older and can run around with her brother.
Aileen says the paperwork for her “birth” can be filed tomorrow, now that Savannah has a name, and she will make sure it looks like I gave birth to the little girl just a few weeks ago so that no one can take her away from Julian and me.
“He has grown a lot,” Julian mutters to me as he watches Saben play. Savannah is curled against his body with her head on Julian’s right shoulder as she sleeps once again.
“He has,” I hum in agreement, leaning back against the chair. “His blood has awakened the royal side after he accepted you as his father. It’s been one hell of a time trying to keep him active and calm,” I continue, leaning into Julian’s left side and taking in his scent.
“I see. Well, once the tour is over, I plan to be there for our pups. Saben is going to need some more training, and I feel like I can tire him out better than you can, no offense.”
I laugh at this, pressing a kiss onto Julian’s shoulder before settling in to continue watching Saben. It seems he is taking the humans into consideration and is holding back his strength.
“None taken. I have been finding it harder to keep up with him these last three months,” I state.
Julian shifts for a moment to look at me, a tinge of concern on his face. “Are you feeling okay, Hannah?” he asks, his words making me hesitate for a moment.
“Yeah,” I answer, but Julian doesn’t seem convinced. “I mean, I have been feeling a little run down, and I find myself needing a nap…” My words trail off as a slow realization sinks in. My heat came three months ago. Julian and I spent that time in my bed with him filling me…
“Oh… oh!” I gasp in shock, running a hand through my hair.
“What is it?” Julian asks, brows furrowing.
“I… I think I know, but I need to go grab something,” I answer, grabbing my purse. “Can you watch our pups for a few minutes? I’m just heading to the drugstore next door,” I ask, feeling both helpful and scared.
“Yeah. I’ll tell Saben you ran to the store for a moment and will be right back if he asks,” Julian says, sounding hesitant.
Thanking him, I place a kiss on his lips, feeling his stubble brush against my cheek, before I rush out of McDonald’s and head to the Shoppers Drug Mart next door. It takes me all of five minutes to grab what I need, including some chocolates for Saben, before I return to the fast-food joint.
“That was quick,” Julian says as I sit down beside him.
“I found what I needed easily,” I answer, watching as Saben helps a little boy up and feeling pride swell inside me. He is already a great big brother to Savannah, but he is such a kind boy to other children as well.
“It’s getting late. We should head back to the mansion,” I sigh, noticing how dark it is getting outside.
“I was thinking the same thing. Plus, I asked Aileen to look after the pups tonight for us since it’s been a while since we had some alone time,” Julian agrees, his voice deepening with lust at the end.
Blushing, I take Savannah from him so he can gather Saben, our son protesting leaving at first but settling when Julian whispers something to him.
With a slight pout on his lips, Saben comes to where Savannah and I sit, wrapping his arms around me in a hug.
I wrap my free arm around him, kissing the top of his head while Julian grabs the car seat we have for Savannah.
He goes to take the plastic bag from beside me, but I stop him, not wanting him to see the small box inside.
I don’t want to get his hopes up, but as soon as we get back to the mansion and the pups are settled in bed, I will lock myself in the bathroom and do what I need to do.
