Page 145 of Reckoning
I’m not stupid enough to rock the boat so I pause, planning to walk right by them.
Only what I see next makes my actual jaw drop.
There’s a woman, no, a group of women. All scantily clad. All laughing and flirting, and the music, the sounds, they’re having a party.
I sneak up to the door. Staring in.
Jesus fucking Christ, it’s not a party. It’s a damned orgy.
My head seems to register it, the sounds, the moans, the way their bodies move. Some distant memory threatens to take over but I force it back down. These women are not being forced. None of this is forced.
I shouldn’t look, I shouldn’t watch, I should not damn well be here.
I turn to go, spinning on my heel just as a massive shadow falls on me.
“What the fuck are you doing down here?”
Koen
Ibarely get the words out before I register whatishappening. That Reid and a few others have blatantly ignored my orders. My anger flares more. Did they think I wouldn’t find out? Did they think I would just let it go?
I force those thoughts down, focusing on Sofia. I doubt witnessing any of that will help her headspace.
Only, as our eyes meet, she doesn’t look scared, she doesn’t look in the midst of a panic attack. She looks furious.
She curls her fist, slamming it right into my jaw. Turns out I taught her to punch pretty damn well.
I groan, grabbing her hand, stopping her from hitting me again.
“You bastard.” She screams. “You utter bastard.”
I don’t understand what the hell is making her react like this but I don’t have time to deal with everything. Colt messaged to say she was in the tunnels - alone. That she’d freaked out and he’d lost her in the older, less organised passageways.
She slams her other hand into my chest, clearly not backing down.
I shouldn’t do it. I know I shouldn’t but right now, her anger, her strength, it’s making my brain short circuit. It’s making my dick come to life. I grab her jaw, slamming my lips into hers.
Her eyes widen. She goes to knee me in the balls and I realise she’s not calming down anytime soon.
God, is this not the moment I’ve been dreaming of? The moment I’ve been waiting for. Imagining over and over.
“You want a fight?” I growl. “You want to delve out some of that pent-up energy?”
She practically snarls back at me like she really is a devil and not human at all. I glance behind, seeing the darkening corridor. It’s too perfect to resist. It’s like she’s laid herself out for me on a platter.
“Run, Sofia.” I say releasing my hold. “You’ve got two minutes before I come and find you.”
Her eyes widen, she steps back like she’s unsure if I’m serious or not and then she clearly thinks better of it. She spins on her heel, running as fast as she can, while I stand there, watching, counting down the seconds in my head.
Oh, I know could be cruel. I could cut the time, cheat, but where would be the fun in that? I could also pull up my phone, open the app, use the tracker I planted in her neck and it’d tell me exactly where she is.
But again, that would rather ruin all of this, wouldn’t it?
I flare my nostrils. Waiting. Feeling my cock harden with anticipation.
She said she wanted to be forced. She said she wanted to play this game, and what better way of doing it than hunting her down, forcing her to submit when she’s this beautifully angry?
As the silent counter hits time, I click my neck, stretch my back. Turns out I’m enjoying this more than I could ever imagine.
