Page 125 of Reckoning
My lips curl at that notion.
Yeah it would be better. Much better. Maybe I’ll even taunt her about that as I’m ramming my cock into her. Telling her how she asked for it. How she pushed for it. How she deserves it.
“Boss…”
I hear Reid’s voice just as something catches my eye. A car veers in front of us. I swerve to the left, only just missing the nearside of it.
“Fucking arsehole.” I growl.
All that blood that’s been racing to my groin suddenly shifts. Reluctantly it returns to where I need it more.
He had no reason to pull such a manoeuvre, no reason to cut us up. Stupid fuck needs to learn to check his blind-spot.
But something whizzes past my ear. Something that changes this entirely.
I turn my head, seeing the weapon pointed out of the window, seeing the barrels aimed right at me.
This isn’t a fluke. This isn’t some dumb arse driver, this is intentional.
“Colt.” I bellow; but he’s seen him already, and he’s pulled his own pistol and started taking shots.
I can hear Sofia, gasping, I can feel her hands clenching my legs so tightly.
Are they here to kill her, or me, or both?
I guess we’ll never find that out because neither of us is dying today.
“Take positions.” I order, not looking back.
I know my men will do what they must but right now I need to get Sofia out of here, I need to get us both away.
Koen
We dart in and out of the traffic. Cars slam on their brakes. Enough beep their horns but I don’t give a fuck.
Colt is to my right, Reid is behind me and I know they’re creating a block, ensuring there’s enough of a distance for me and Sofia to get ahead.
As we turn a corner, I hear the screech of tyres and then that inevitable crunch of metal.
I glance back seeing the carnage we’ve left in our wake. One car has smashed into a lorry causing it to jackknife across the entire road. Colt whips out, slipping through the tiny gap left between its smashed-up backend and the barrier.
Seconds later Reid follows him and then the rest of our men ride out. There’s no way in hell any car is getting through that.
“Job done.” Reid says with a smirk. Stupid bastard is the only one reckless enough to not be wearing a full face helmet.
I grunt in reply. Just because we’ve shaken them off doesn’t mean we can relax now. We’re still a good half hour from the house.
I hit the gas, and the engine roars beneath us. We speed off, racing once more, only this time it feels more controlled.
Around me my men create a wall.
But I can hear Sofia’s breathing, I can feel the way her body is reacting. I call her name through the mic and she doesn’t respond.
She’s gone into full panic mode. She’s practically folded in on herself as her fear as taken over. I order the others to switch the channel, making sure only me and Sofia are now linked through our headsets.
“You’re alright.” I say. “They’re gone now.”
She gasps my name, sobs it out. If I could, I’d pull over but there’s no time. We can’t stop now or we risk those arseholes catching up and putting a bullet in our heads.
