Page 60 of Pack Choice
“The heavy is already on it,” Colt replies, pointing to Ford who is currently crushing some dude’s phone in his hand.
“Oh Jeez,” I mumble.
Colt’s fingers tighten on River’s shoulder, his knuckles bleaching.
“Let her go.”
“I didn’t have a choice,” River says, sounding like a sulky child who’s being forcibly separated from their favorite toy. “She wouldn’t let me maul her in private.”
“That’s because she has more than two brain cells between her ears,” Colt says, which has me smiling because it almost sounded like a compliment.
“Damn right,” River says, sighing as he pries his hands from me and takes a decided step back. I suppress a whimper. His hands felt exquisite and all of a sudden I feel barren without his touch. “She’s the complete fucking package.”
“With brothers who will cut off your dick and serve it at their next BBQ if they catch you groping their sister in public.”
“You were groping her on stage,” River says through gritted teeth.
“I’m not saying it isn’t easy.”
They both stare at me, their eyes so hungry I now know what it feels like to be a pastry in the window of a patisserie. Except, does a pastry want to be eaten? Because, when they look at me like that, I do. I really really do.
“Let’s get a room,” I say to River.
That lopsided smile spreads across his face and does funny things to my naughty insides.
“What the fuck?” Colt says.
“All of us,” I add.
I want them both. The competitive thing was cute. But hell, who am I kidding. I am just as spoiled and needy as the next omega. One alpha isn’t enough. I can’t help that. It’s simply biology.
They gape at me, their jaws slack, and I consider taking them both by the hand and leading them out.
But it seems like the ballroom gods are against me tonight, determined to interrupt me at every turn.
This time it’s Deborah and Cassidy Monroe. I almost groan in frustration as they barge into our little threesome, practically knocking me out of the way.
Immediately, Cassidy grips River’s arm and mewls up into his ear as simultaneously Deborah does the same to Colt. It’s clear they are both tipsy.
I stand there looking as flabbergasted, I’m sure, as both alphas did mere seconds ago, then I spin on my heels and go.
I don’t need to see that. Colt may say he’s not interested in Deborah but he wasn’t exactly shaking her off on stage. And I’m certainly not blind to the way River eyes Cassidy up – the same way every other straight man on the planet does.
I’m halfway through the doorway, when a curt voice commands me to stop. My feet halt on order. Ford marches to my side.
“Could you stop doing that, please?” he says.
“Doing what?” I snap.
“Running away.” He places his hands on my shoulders and maneuvers me around to face him. “Are you okay, Moll?”
I slump a little. “Yes, I mean, I probably just made a massive fool out of myself. But otherwise I’m just peachy.”
“It’s okay, I made them delete all those photos.”
I bury my face in my hands. “Oh god, I wasn’t even thinking about that!”
“You weren’t?” Ford glances towards the dance floor and I decide I’d better divert before anymore damage is done.
