“No, men are not my thing.”
“But personal assistants are.” His gaze slides down my body. “You know I could sue your ass for sexual harassment.”
“You chose to take the job. You already know you’re my type. I told you at the speed-dating event.”
I frown. He didn’t tell me that. “Maybe I thought you’d be more professional.”
“I intend to be, Miss Stormgate. But it’s also fair that I let you know, when I want something, I always get it.”
“I think it’s also fair that I remindyou,Mr.Turner, that I am not interested in a lone wolf with no pack.” No matter how hot he looks in his ridiculously well-fitting suit. “And I won’t be going out with you on Thursday.” I stand up, straightening my skirt. “I’ll get on with sorting your schedule.”
“Shame,” he says, swiveling his screen back around and resuming his typing. “I’m sure the children could benefit from a donation.”
“That is emotional blackmail.”
“It’s a fact.”
“Is this the way you usually try to woo an omega?”
He peers up from his screen. “I’m not sure. I’ve never tried to woo one before.”

I don’t likethe way he looks at her. All dark and brooding, like he wants to rip her skirt off and stuff his head between her thighs.
I’ve already sent a message to Silver to have our men conduct a background check. I don’t like him. I bet he has a wardrobe full of skeletons and a body hidden in the backyard. Unfortunately so far, neither skeletons nor corpses have been discovered.
I don’t like the way she walks out of his office either, all pink-cheeked, flustered and smelling like sin.
My eyes flick to the office door. What the hell went down in there? I shouldn’t have left them alone. I shouldn’t have left her unguarded. I doubt an alpha like him can be trusted. Aren’t 99% of CEOs psychopaths?
Not again. I have my orders and I intend to carry them out down to the last letter.
Perhaps with more enthusiasm and dedication than I predicted. But, hell, I’m not letting that dick land his hands on the omega. And if the dick knows what’s good for him, he’ll be keeping his dick tucked well inside his pants.
“Everything okay?” I ask Molly as she settles into her seat and switches on her computer.
“What?” she says, lost in her thoughts.
The hairs on the back of my neck bristle and my eyes bore a hole through the goddamn office door. Something definitely happened in there. I can see the goosebumps running across her arms. I won’t be leaving them alone again. I don’t care what the dick has to say about it. He can try to wrestle me out if he likes.
“I said, is everything okay?”
“Who, me?” She glances over her shoulder at me. “Yeah, fine. Just need to do some scheduling stuff.” She twists back to her screen, then hesitates and swings her head back around: “Do you have anything to do? I mean, it’s going to mind-numbingly dull for you to have to sit and watch me work all day.”
“I can help you if you like,” I offer, even though I know as much about filing as I do knitting.
She jerks her head in the direction of the office. “I don’t think that would go down well with the boss. Why don’t you go do something fun in the city for a bit? Meet me back here for lunch.”
“No,” I say sternly.
“Why not?”
“I’m not leaving my post.”
She frowns. “Well, at least tell me you brought a book. Or the paper.”
