Chapter Twenty

K ehlani

Why are his movements so sluggish?

I flinched when Javyous took another hit to his midsection. It was obvious that he was in excruciating pain each time that he was hit. I was relieved when the fight finally ended by knockout. The opponent had gotten too cocky and got distracted long enough for my man to deliver the final blow.

Normally when Javyous fought his movements were quick and precise and he was focused.

Today he was moving slow and he looked unfocused.

Watching him get beat and pummeled on was a hard task.

I knew that he was durable enough, but it still made me uneasy.

He was always sore with cuts and abrasions somewhere as well as the swelling.

Since I knew he was going to be down after this, I rushed back to his room so that I could prepare to take care of everything before he could see me.

He would for sure not do the interviews if he knew that I was here. I needed him to be distracted.

Initially I had no plans to come to Vegas, but after the delivery of some of the best dick I’d ever had in my life, I quickly changed my mind.

The twins were going to my grandmother’s, but their father called for them again which was even better for me.

Before flying out, I stopped and got everything that I needed to cater to my man for the night.

Once I made it back to the room I stripped out of the dress and heels that I wore, took a quick shower, and dressed comfortably before setting the room up.

I spread rose petals all over the floor, bed, and tub, lit tealight candles, and placed balloons through the room.

It wasn’t a special occasion other than his fight, but I didn’t need one.

I wanted to celebrate my man just because.

I would have cooked, but he didn’t like to eat after his fights.

He told me that and I noticed it the last time that we were here, so I didn’t bother.

Instead, I ate a quick snack while I waited for him to come up.

When I heard him fumbling around at the door, I rushed to the bed and waited for him on the foot of it.

“Fuck is this girl not answering her phone?” I heard him mumbling as he came inside.

He finally took notice of the room decorations when he tossed the bag on the floor.

His eyes scanned the room until they landed on me.

A slow smile crept up on his face as he made his way over to me.

Reaching out, he grabbed my hand and pulled me off of the bed and into his embrace then nuzzled his face into my neck.

“What are you doing here?” he asked with his face still nuzzled.

It was hard to reply when he started to kiss and suck on my neck.

“You asked me to come.” I moaned and turned my head a little to allow him more access. Realizing he was getting us off track, I nudged him off of me. “Move, Javyous, I have plans for you.”

“I got plans for your fine ass too.” He smiled with his lip tucked between his teeth.

“I’m serious,” I pouted. “You’re ruining it.”

Grinning, he pulled me closer again and placed a gentle kiss on my lips.

“Aight, what’s all this for?”

“Read it.” I smiled as I pointed to the wall above the bed.

“ Because it’s Saturday. ” He read the balloons that I had taped over the bed aloud. “Because it’s Saturday?” he repeated but more of a question that time.

I nodded with a wide smile as I circled his neck with my arms. “And because you’re my man.”

Since my ass was in his hands, he gave it a tight squeeze and tried to reconvene sucking and kissing on my neck, but I stopped him by pushing him off of me again. I didn’t want to have sex tonight, I just wanted to cater to him and chill.

“No, baby, undress,” I said as I stepped out of his arms.

“Aight, you undress too.”

“Javyous, seriously.”

“I’m dead ass.” He playfully frowned.

“Here.” I lifted the hem of his shirt and he winced in pain when his arms went up, making me instantly regret it.

“Shit,” he hissed, grabbing at his side.

“I’m sorry,” I whimpered, afraid to touch him.

“Naw, you’re good. It’s not that bad.”

“Yes, it is, Javyous,” I replied, damn near in tears. “I saw how many times you got hit there and how much pain you were in. Maybe you don’t need to do this anymore.”

I didn’t know why I had gotten so emotional all of a sudden, but I was. He visibly relaxed and sighed when he saw my tears then pulled me to his side after pulling his shirt over his head.

“Ay, I’m straight. Yeah, I took a few hits, but nothing that I’m not used to.”

“But I never saw you get hit like that. You seemed like?—”

“Lani, I’m good, baby. This is the shit I train for. A couple of body shots ain’t shit. I promise. Okay?”

“Okay.” I simpered looking up at him.

I could see the strain in his face from the pain and could tell that he was just telling me what I wanted to hear, but I didn’t push. If he was saying that he was okay, then I had to go with that.

“Come on.”

Grabbing me by my hand, he led me into the bathroom and paused when he saw the tub filled with water, soap, and rose petals.

“What’s this, baby?”

“Your bath, come on, let’s get you in.”

Tugging on the strings of his basketball shorts, I untied the knot and pushed the shorts and boxers down his legs. He stepped out of them as he eyed me the entire time.

“I mean, you’re already down there.”

A devilish smirk spread across his face as he stared down at me and I rolled my eyes.

I pointed. “Get in the tub.”

“This shit too small for me, Kehlani.”

His handsome face was frowned up when he looked at the tub. It was pretty small, but we would just have to make it work.

“I know but it’s not like I could ask for a bigger tub. It doesn’t matter, Javyous, you’re ruining my surprise for you.”

“Aight, crybaby, my fault.” Finally, he stepped inside of the tub and I burst out laughing when he hopped back out of it. “What the fuck, Kehlani, that shit hot as fuck. You knew that shit was scorching hot.”

“I’m sorry, baby.” I struggled to get the words out because I was laughing so hard. “I had to make sure it was hot for you when you got here. I didn’t think it would still be that hot.”

He was seated on the side of the tub rubbing his scalded feet and my side was hurting from laughing so much and so hard.

“That shit really ain’t fucking funny,” he spat.

“Aww, baby,” I gushed, walking up on him and grabbing his face into my hands. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know it was that hot still seriously. Here, I’ll cool it off for you.”

He ignored me and went to the shower when I reached to turn the cold water on.

“Javyous!”

“Javyous, my ass,” he said as he stepped into the shower. “If you want to get in that shit and boil like a fucking hotdog then that’s your business, I’m gon’ take a fucking shower so I can control my own temperature.”

“Whatever, stupid,” I mumbled, turning the water off.

After blowing out the candles, I stomped to the bedroom with an attitude since he ruined my surprise.

The situation wasn’t even that deep, but I was buried under the cover crying.

I was kind of pissed at myself for being so emotional about something so simple.

I heard Javyous when he finally emerged from the bathroom. I was glad to be lying on my side with my back to him so he didn’t see me crying or talk to me, and I could play like I was asleep.

“Lani,” he called out and I ignored him, but he called me again. “Kehlani.”

I felt him shaking me, but I still ignored him. The bed dipped letting me know that he had joined me, but I kept my eyes squeezed tightly.

“I know your little ass ain’t sleep,” he said after easing under the cover with me and pulling me into him.

“Move, Javyous.” I had to say something when I felt him easing his hand into the front of my shorts.

“That’s what I thought. Why you got these clothes on in the bed anyways?”

“Because I knew you were going to bother me. Stop, JV.”

He ignored me and continued to pull my clothes off until I was as naked as the day that I was born. Then he pulled me on top of him to lay in his tight embrace.

“You spoiled as fuck, man,” he said when I melted into him after getting comfortable.

“So.” I simpered. “Is this okay?”

“What?”

“Me laying on you while you’re hurt.”

“Didn’t I tell you I was good, baby?”

“Yes, but I saw?—”

He cut me off. “Aight then, trust your man.”

Taking his advice, I nodded and switched the subject a little.

“What was going on with you tonight?”

“What you mean?”

“You just weren’t your normal self out there.”

“Why did you leave my fight early?”

“To set up your surprise that you ruined,” I pouted.

“Naw, that you ruined with that boiling hot ass water.”

“Anyways, you’re deflecting.”

“I’m not.” He laughed. “I just had an unusually long night for it to be right before a fight.”

“Long night?” I lifted my head to look in his eyes.

“Yeah.” He sighed. “Dominique and I went out to?—”

“Went out?” I quizzed. “Went out where?”

“If you would stop cutting me off, you would know.” His eyes were hard on me. Javyous hated to be cut off when he was talking. “We went to the strip club, chill out.”

He squeezed me tighter when I tried to roll off of him. He didn’t tell me he was going to the strip club and he didn’t text me back until this morning either.

“Move, JV.”

“Oh, I’m JV now?” His chest vibrated from his laughter.

“Move, Javyous.”

His hold was too tight for me to escape so I stopped trying to force it at least until I felt him relax his arms. The moment he did, I was trying to move again, but he caught me and flipped me onto my back and hovered over me.

“Fuck you got an attitude for, huh?”

“Why were you in the strip club?” I whimpered feeling the tears well up in my eyes.

Javyous and I were in a good place, but I still had that small insecurity when it came to his previous dating history. He was used to being with multiple women at a time, so I always had that thought in the back of my mind that maybe he’d get bored or I wouldn’t be enough.
