Chapter Seventeen

J avyous

What is this?

Our new spot if you say yes.

I was standing inside of a three-bedroom townhouse at The Falls.

The spot was going to be temporary because I couldn’t raise a family in a place this small, but it was a start.

It had been two weeks since we’d gotten back from Vegas and a nigga was going insane sleeping without my girl.

I was lightweight addicted to her little ass and I couldn’t take being apart any longer.

Fuck that.

“You so fine,” I said when her pretty ass face appeared in the camera since she was FaceTiming me.

“Javyous, what do you mean our new spot?”

“Just what I said. I told Zach and Cheryl we needed a spot, they found us this one. I know it’s not that big, so I’m gon’ do the lease to own option in case you don’t fuck with it.”

Her face disappeared from the camera and I could hear shuffling around for a few minutes until silence took over and her face reappeared.

“Baby, what are you doing?’ she asked.

“Getting us a crib. I miss yo’ ass.” I frowned.

“You miss me, Javyous, so you go get a townhouse?”

“Hell yeah.”

“I know you want us to be together, but I don’t want you making hasty decisions. We just agreed to really give us a shot.”

“Baby the only thing I’m trying to hastily do is bend you over our new bathroom sink. Fuck all that. Do you rock with the spot or not?”

“Javyous,” she squealed with a pretty smile on her equally pretty face.

“What? It’s been a long time. I haven’t had none in two fuckin’ weeks.”

A nigga was going crazy being backed up. Normally I would have gone out and hit something else, but I fucked with my girl and was really trying to do right by her and shit.

“Well, whose fault is that?”

“Mine and I’m trying to make it up to you.” I smirked.

She laughed and shook her head before saying, “Fine, I love it.”

“Good answer.” I nodded. “I told Zach if he didn’t pick a good spot that you would say yes to off top, then I was going to knock his ass the fuck out.”

“Oh Lord.” She palmed her face. “Poor Zach, he really deserves better than you.”

“Fuck outta here.” I waved her off as I traveled the house to find him and the realtor. “I’m the best to do it, baby.”

“You are,” she agreed, blushing and shit at the phone. “I have to get back to my client.”

“Okay, but ay, hit your baby daddy and tell him you only asking to get your shit one more time nicely, then I’m getting involved.”

She had been asking the nigga all week to get her and the twins shit out of there and he was still acting like a bitch, but he had the right one. I fully intended to pull up on him.

“Okay, baby.”

“Give me a kiss.” I grinned when her eyes narrowed at the screen.

“Javyous.”

“Kiss.”

“How would I give a kiss through the phone?”

“Figure it out baby and hurry. Zach and the realtor are right here waiting on me.

After rolling her eyes, she puckered up her lips and blew an air kiss at the phone.

“Damn, that shit just got my dick hard as hell.”

I fell out laughing when she disconnected the call.

It had only been two weeks since we’d agreed to something serious, but shit felt natural.

That was how I knew she was my person. Nothing was forced, shit happened authentically.

I wasn’t waiting one more night to sleep with her though.

I wanted to wake up to her and the twins every day.

“So, I assume we got a yes?” the realtor asked.

“Yeah, we good.” I nodded, still smiling.

That was the affect that Lani had on me. Had a nigga grinning hard as hell even when we were off the phone.

“Oh, thank God,” Zach added, visibly relaxing. I laughed knowing he thought that I was really going to knock him out if my girl didn’t agree. “Now let’s get the paperwork done.”

The realtor had everything laid out on the kitchen counter for me to sign.

I didn’t like reading contracts and shit, so I had the same contract lawyer that did me and Lani’s paperwork to make sure all of this was legit.

He’d already let me know everything looked to be on the up and up, so I happily signed.

After she had my John Hancock, she collected the papers, handed me the keys and left just Zach and me.

“Now, this.” He slid more papers my way and I frowned because he didn’t tell me what any of this was before today and ol’ dude hadn’t looked over it. “This is from Disney.”

“What?” I snatched the paper up and skimmed it.

“As you know, the pictures you guys took there went viral and the people love them. They loved them so much that Disney is offering you this.” He pointed to a line on the paper before continuing. “To just say that you’re coming there after your next fight.”

“Wait.” I chuckled, running my hand across my waves. “You’re telling me that want to pay me two hundred fifty racks to say five words?”

He nodded. “We’re going to Disney World, that’s it.”

“And they gon’ give me six figures.”

He nodded again. “That and some other stuff, but pretty much.”

‘That’s crazy,” I admitted. “I never had nobody doing shit like this at first.”

“That’s because you didn’t have the proper team behind you, no disrespect to your uncle, but that’s what me and Cheryl are here for. We get you as much as you deserve while you and your uncle focus on fighting.”

“Word.” I smiled, big impressed and stoked. I finally felt like my career was moving in the right direction. “Thank you, man.”

He collected the papers after I signed them and put them in a folder them his bag.

“Don’t thank me, thank your wife and kids. I’m sure they’re the reason.” He winked and headed out. “Oh, Nike reached out too. We’re still going over some details, but I’ll be in touch with you soon about that and I’ll have the details about Kehlani’s new building.”

“Bet, appreciate that.”

I’d asked him to find out what building she’d put a down payment on so that I could help her out.

She was there for me when I needed her to be even when she didn’t have to be, so I wanted to look out for her too.

I wanted her to know I was going to support her shit just as much as she supported mine, which was another reason I’d posted her business and shit on my page. I wanted to send some traffic her way.

A call from Dominique came through, breaking me from my thoughts.

“Where the fuck yo’ ass at nigga and don’t say the gym. Pops told me you start training tomorrow already.”

“Don’t be clocking my fucking moves, Dominique.”

“Yeah, yeah, where you?”

“The Falls. I just got me, Lani, and the kids a spot.”

“Good, I’m at DayLux, pull up and drink with me.”

“Nigga I just said I bought a crib. I need to move and shit.” I frowned.

“JV, it’s Wednesday, start moving this weekend. Come eat with your favorite cousin and have some drinks.”

“You’re my only cousin, mothafucka,” I mumbled, pocketing my house keys and heading out. His spot wasn’t too far from here since it was in the downtown area.

“Still the favorite, I’ll see you soon.”

He disconnected the call before I could respond. I chuckled to myself after dropping my phone into my lap. I could use a drink or ten since I was about to be training hard. I also didn’t drink close to a match, so I may as well indulge before that time comes.

“You don’t want me to bring any of this stuff with me?” Kehlani asked as she taped another box closed.

“You bought all of this shit?” I asked from the dresser that I was leaning against.

She shook her head. “Pharaoh furnished the whole house.”

“Then hell naw, I don’t want you to bring none of this shit.” I scoffed.

She laughed. “Baby, it’s not that serious. It’s just furniture.”

“Fuck all that, I bought the shit you sent me, you can decorate and shit once we get everything in there.”

I was behind her closing her into my embrace and burying my face into her neck. She smelled like coconuts or some shit. It smelled good, so good that my dick bricked up on her ass.

She nudged me off and turned, pushing the box into my chest. “This is the last one. We have to go to your place.”

“You been running from a nigga a lot,” I said, placing the box on the bed and backing her up until she was laying on her back and I was hovering over her, peppering kisses on her neck and face.

“Not running,” she moaned, angling her head, giving me more access.

“What do you call it then?”

She turned her head to get me to stop and pushed me back so that she had room to sit up.

“We’re new. I already made the mistake of sleeping with you the first night that we met and again after your fight. I don’t want you to think I’m a hoe nor do I want our relationship to be based on sex.”

Pressing my palms into the bed on each side of her, I leaned down so that we were in one another’s face.

“Kehlani, I wouldn’t still be married to you if I thought you were a hoe.”

She rolled her eyes. “Yes, you would. We did this for your image initially.”

I chuckled and grabbed both of her hands pulling her up from the bed into my arms.

“Baby, if all I was going to do was marry a hoe just for my image, I had Kecia and Zoey for that. I married you because you were fine as hell and because that shit felt right.”

“But Cheryl said?—”

“Cheryl only wanted me to get a girlfriend for my image. I would have still been able to do whatever I wanted to do.”

“Really?” She looked up at me with those pretty ass brown eyes that were lit up because of the light above us.

“Yeah, really.” I kissed the tip of her nose. “So, you giving me some pussy tonight aight?”

A wide grin spread across her face as she nodded.

“Fine, but only because you’re acting all desperate and stuff.”

“Definitely desperate to shove my nose in your shit.”

“Move, Javyous!” she squealed when I pulled her into me and squeezed her ass.

“Just saying.” I grinned. “Come on because you got a long night ahead of you.”
