I kept my response short because I had no interest in discussing my kids with him. This whole thing was a sham, so there would be no need for him to get to know them.
“Word, baby girl looks like she has people wrapped around her little ass finger.” He chuckled.
“I know you didn’t come here to talk about this, Javyous.” I folded my arms in front of me and changed the subject.
“I need you, Kehlani,” he said after a few minutes of silence. “I need all this shit in order to get back in the ring and advance my career. What I said to you was fucked up regardless of whether I needed you or not, but since I do I have to apologize.”
I wanted so badly to tell him to go to hell, but I knew that I couldn’t. We were both in this scam of a marriage, and I had signed the contract, so I suppose that I had to sell it to the public in order to not breach the contract.
“Fine but know that I’m not the kind of woman that you can say what you want to and I just bow down and take it. You’re going to respect me just as I will you.”
He grinned. “I can do that, but you are going to have come to my fights, at least some of them, Kehlani. I know you have the twins, so if we have to find childcare on the road and shit, I’ll help you figure it out, and I’ll let you know the dates in advance so that you can schedule your work shit around it. ”
“Okay.” I nodded. “We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.”
“Fair enough.” He nodded and started for the door. “Nice spot you got here too. Small as shit, but nice, nevertheless. I’m proud of you if no one else has ever told you.”
I could have fucking melted when he winked and smirked at me before he left my office. Javyous Goldsmith knew that he was a piece of fucking heaven walking on earth. I mean it should seriously be a sin to be as fine as that man was.
“Ready?” Jasmine asked, breaking me away from the trance that my husband had me in.
“Uh, yeah, sorry, I’m coming now.”
Walking over to my desk, I grabbed my phone from my purse then followed Jasmine out, closing the door behind me. It was almost noon so that meant we would be opening soon. I needed to get all of these boxes in and sorted before my first client showed up.
“So, what was JV Goldsmith doing here?” Jasmine’s nosy ass asked me once we got everything inside. She was putting things away and I was setting up my station in the room where I made my products.
JoSi wasn’t that popular yet worldwide, but it was on its way. I’d recently let Celeste talk me into getting a YouTube channel, so that would attract new customers.
“Who?” I asked cutting my eyes at her.
“JV, the guy that was in your office, your husband .” She had a little sarcasm in her tone. “Yep, I saw the video and he told me.” She grinned.
He told her.
That caught me off guard. I mean, yeah, we had to sell the idea of us to everyone, but I didn’t expect for him to show up and toss the husband card around all willy nilly. He just didn’t seem like the type.
“Well, if you know he’s my husband, why are you being nosy, heffa?”
Jasmine wasn’t exactly what I called a friend at first because I didn’t want to blur the lines and mix business with personal.
She was an employee that honestly forced herself to that place in my life.
No, we didn’t really hang out that often, but we did when time permitted.
She worked a lot just like I did, so naturally we spent a lot of time together.
“I mean I’ve never even heard of you dating, so to see you pop out with a whole ass husband and him of all people.”
“ Him ?” I repeated with my brows furrowed. “Why did you say it like that?”
“I don’t know, Lani, it’s just…” Her words trailed off as she reached for her phone. “Look.”
She came up to my side to show me what she was looking at on her phone.
There were several pictures and videos of him with other women, two in particular all the time.
She even went to the two girls’ social media pages where they had a number of photos of him on there.
It did stand out that he was alone in all of them, but still, who the hell were they.
“Their names are Kecia and Zoey. They’ve been his known women forever. I mean he’s with other women all the time, but always with these two. They have some kind of poly thing going on because they’re even together when he’s not with them.”
What the hell?
I was fuming on the inside learning this shit. Why would he want to stay married to me when he apparently had not one, but two women that he was seeing?
“Oh wow.”
“What?” I frowned.
“Uh, he’s out with them now it looks like.” She turned the phone my way. “He’s at DayLux.”
It took everything in me to contain my anger in that moment.
I was actually seething and if it were possible Jasmine would be able to see the steam coming from my head.
Not only was he out here making a fool of the both of us, but I had also slept with this man with no protection.
I felt physically sick just thinking about it.
“Hey, I need to go.” I started out of the room. “Cover my appointments and send me that stuff please.”
I didn’t even wait for her to respond as I rushed to my office to get my purse and keys.
I immediately called up my doctor to schedule an appointment as soon as possible and also texted Celeste to meet me at my destination.
Mr. Javyous may not give a fuck how he was perceived by other people, but I did.
I had a successful business and brand on top of me being a mother and I wasn’t about to let his ass play with my face or name. He was in for a rude awakening.
