Page 50 of Look My Way (Bloody Desires #1)

I’ve spent the past week waiting for Liam to push me away and change his mind about me moving in.
He hasn’t yet, but keeps talking about where my furniture will fit next to his, which doesn’t matter to me because I’d gladly give it all away tomorrow in order to speed up the process.
Things are just that . . . things. But my boy, he’s so much more than that, and if he was all I could have here, he’d be more than enough.
“I don’t know what to do with Daniel’s stuff. You know, what the cops didn’t take in for evidence.”
“I can take it to the dump on my way to work tomorrow.”
“Yeah . . . yeah, that works.” He holds his hand up to his neck and I rub his back.
“Something on that mind of yours that has you worrying?”
“You haven’t told me where he is yet . . . Is he still alive?”
“Yeah. He’s still breathing with a pulse.” Would I call it living? Probably not.
“So that’s all you’re going to give me?” He lifts his gaze to me.
“It’s better for you not to know too much.”
“I . . .” He looks at his feet, shuffling from side to side. “I want to see him suffering.”
My whole body vibrates. “Are you sure?”
“Yeah. I know what you do, and if I’ve accepted it, then I’ll accept what comes with it.”
“Once you see what I really do, you won’t be able to come back from it. What if you change your mind about—”
“I won’t. Show me your favorite hobby like I’ve shown you mine.” He threads his fingers in mine.
“You mean my second favorite.” I press a kiss into his hair and whisper, “I’ll take you this weekend if you’re really sure.”
“I am. He’s caused me so much pain, so it’s only fair I get to see his.”
“You’re right it is.”
“Is it . . . Is it bad I also want to be a part of it?”
My lips stretch, life beating into me harder than ever. “No, carino. It’s not bad at all. Sometimes you have to take care of them yourselves.”
“Except I’ll have you there and you’ll have me. Neither of us will have to do anything alone anymore.”
“No. No we won’t.”
