THIRTY-NINE
I met up with the girls from school last night, since I’m off to Greece again next week.
It’s been nice seeing them, although they’re funny about me going again.
It was fun, and we all got pissed, but Sharon cried because I was leaving her again, as if I was still her best friend and everything. I didn’t cry, but I did pretend.
Actually it made me think of Imogen, and like – even though I’ve known Sharon since we were kids – I’d definitely say Imogen is a closer friend now. I’ve really missed her. I guess it’s just because we’ve been through things together. Things that Sharon and me haven’t been through.
I can’t wait to go now. My parents are driving me mad and I’m soooo bored at the monkey job. I’m just counting down the days.

Back in Alythos! Yay! Not kidding either.
(Check the date, future me!) It is soooo good to be back.
It’s weird though, because a load of people from last year haven’t come back, and there’s all these new people – who are fresh and over-excited about everything, and don’t really know about how it all works.
But other than that, it’s just like last year.
Jason even gave his first flight home speech.

Wow, I’d forgotten how hard pre-season is. The new people are useless, but eventually we get the hotel looking OK, and then Jason said he’d take everyone out again, like last year. But then he cancelled it, on account of Mandy feeling “unwell”. So that was…kind of shit.
Imogen says her winter was boring too, and she’s way nervous about seeing Kostas. I asked her if she spoke to him over the winter, and she didn’t have his number, so she couldn’t. It’s like, come on girl.

Big night out last night. We started off at the staff house, then went into town, and honestly I kind of blacked out a bit, because I must have drunk too much.
It was alright, but something feels different this year?
Maybe it’s just the mix of people isn’t quite right?
I don’t know. It’s also Imogen. Even though she’s still really nice, she’s back with Kostas (that took all of one week) and she spends most of her time with him.
And even when she’s not with him, she’s always saying she feels ill or tired.
I think she just doesn’t want to go out.
Not now she’s back with Kostas, the love of her bloody life.

Mandy’s gone into hospital. It means Imogen’s doing all her work, and Mandy’s work too.
Plus she’s moaning about not feeling well again – Imogen, I mean.
I think it’s the kids’ club. It finishes at five, when the kids get served their meal.
And we started this thing where we dared the kids to steal platefuls of pizza and chicken nuggets and bring it over to Imogen at reception.
And now it’s like a thing, because all the guests overlap, all the new kids learn about it from the old kids.
So Imogen keeps eating it. I keep telling her not too.
Like, does she think Kostas is going to hang around if she really bloats out? I don’t think so.
At least I still look good in a bikini.
