“Good.” Brysen grinned and flopped to his back on the bed, tucking his arms behind his head. “Go shower and change into your hottest outfit. We’re going toRaw.”
I was in no mood to go out and party. The thought of dragging my sorry ass out of the apartment and going to a club with way too many people and loud music was nearly enough to make me throw my hands up and tell them to fuck off. Tell them that I wasn’t going. But I knew they’d never leave me alone until I did.
Also, I did kind of stink.
I cringed as I got a whiff of my armpit. “I hate you guys.”
“Nuh uh,” Brysen sang in a singsong voice. “You love us.”
After a hot shower, I actually felt a little better. The more I walked around, finding clothes to wear and getting ready, the angrier I got at Declan. Royal and Brysen had said some bad things about him, and I’d defended him constantly. However, I was getting pissed now.
Who the fuck did he think he was?
He could’ve kept it casual with us. Instead, he’d confessed he felt more for me. He should’ve kept that shit to himself. All it’d done was break my damn heart, because even though he liked me more than a fling, he’d still decided to let me go.
Declan Price was an asshole.
But I loved him.
I didn’t want to love him anymore. It was too painful.
“You ready, K?” Royal called from the living room.
I fixed my hair in the bathroom mirror before running a hand over my chin and jaw. I couldn’t grow a beard if my life depended on it. The hair grew in weird patches, and I looked like a moron if I let it grow longer. The skin beneath my fingers was silky smooth since I’d just shaved, and I turned my head from side to side.
As good as it’s gonna get.
“Yeah,” I answered. “I’m ready.”
Ready to leave.
Ready to move on with my life.

Music blared in the club and lights flashed above the moving bodies on the dance floor. I’d had five rum and cokes and felt great already. The bartender had been extra generous with the rum that night.
Someone pressed against me from behind and gripped my hips. A guy squeezed in front of me and grinded himself on my leg. I went with it, dancing with them both even though I didn’t have the faintest idea who they were. That didn’t matter.
When the song ended, the guy in front of me smiled and walked away. He’d been a major cutie, but not exactly my type. The one at my back caressed my arm, and I turned to him.
He was tall, dark-haired, and had a close-shaven beard. Totally someone I would’ve climbed like a tree had I not just had my heart broken. Hell, maybe that was the perfect reason to fuck him.
The best way to get over a guy was to get on top of another.
“Kye!” Brysen moved toward me through the crowd, holding a drink in each hand.
Captain Sexy Beard slid his hand along my neck and leaned in. “Find me later for another dance.”
“Hopefully for more than a dance,” I responded, placing a hand on his broad chest. I swayed on my feet as I was hit with a sudden dizzy spell.
“I think you should go sit down for now,” Captain Sexy Beard said as his brow furrowed. He gripped my shoulders to keep me upright. “I can take you somewhere quiet if you want.”
“Aw, you’re so sweet,” I said, grinning like a nerd.
“Come with me, Romeo.” Brysen popped up at my side and led me off the dance floor.
I looked over my shoulder at the sexy guy. Sometimes I got a little flirty when drinking.
