Chapter 15
Kyler
I rummaged through my suitcase for the tenth time, making sure I had everything before zipping it closed. But then I opened it back up and checked again when I couldn’t remember if I’d packed my toothbrush.
I’d never gone on vacation before. I’d hardly ever left Addersfield other than to drive to the bigger city an hour or so away to some of the gay nightclubs that I’d gone to with Brysen and Royal.
Rawwas great, but there were times when we wanted to go to different clubs because the same faces always appeared at ours. Once you’d fucked all the available guys, it could get boring. I’d found some amazing hookups at the other nightclubs.
None had been better than Declan, though.
Brysen walked into my room and flung himself on the bed, pouting at me. “I can’t believe you’re going to Greece without me.”
“Stop,” I said, jumping on top of him and hugging his too-small body. “Don’t make me feel worse than I already do.”
“I’m just giving you shit, Kye.” Brysen grinned and shoved against my chest so I’d move. “You deserve a vacation. And you’re going with Declan of all people. So, even though I’m jealous, I’m happy for you.”
“You going to be okay while I’m gone?”
Brysen and I hadn’t spent more than a few nights apart since we were, like, sixteen. Major separation anxiety had me worrying about him. I mean, the guy could barely cook his breakfast without nearly burning the place down.
How was he going to fend for himself for a week?
“I’ll be fine,” he said, rolling onto his side and propping his head up on his arm. “I’m not as incapable as I seem.”
“Okay.” I’d worry, regardless. “I left grocery money on the counter, and you can use it to order in food, too.”
“Oh my god, Kyler,” Brysen groaned. “I’m not five.”
My phone buzzed, and I smiled at the name on my screen. “Hello?”
“Is that a smile I hear in your voice?” Declan asked with one clearly in his.
“Maybe.”
“We’ll be outside your apartment in about ten minutes. Have to get gas first.”
“Cool. I’ll see you soon.”
I slipped my phone in my back pocket and double checked to make sure I had my charger. Other than my one suitcase, I was also bringing my laptop bag just in case I got the urge to write while in Mykonos.
“It’s just acasualvacation to a super romantic place?” Brysen fluttered his eyelashes.
“Yes.” I cut my eyes at him. “Declan and I are enjoying each other’s company and screwing. That’s it. Nothing more.”
There couldn’t ever be more. So, I’d take what I could get while I could get it.
“And it’s notsuper romantic,” I added.
“Uh huh.”
I slung my laptop bag over one shoulder and grabbed the handle on my suitcase. “I gotta go, B. Take care of yourself while I’m gone, okay? If you need anything, go to your mom’s or call Royal.”
“Yes, Daddy.” He sat up and lunged off the bed, pouncing on me. I stumbled and nearly dropped my bag as his arms came around me. “Now, go and ride that Spartan’s dick while swimming in pretty blue water and drinking wine. And be prepared to tell me all about it when you get back.”
He licked my cheek.
“Gross, dude.” I cringed and wiped at my face.
