I laughed. “My part in the movie will be super small. People won’t even notice me.”
“Aw, I’ll notice you, babe. And I’ll totally scream in the theater, ‘That’s my bestie!’Then, I’ll throw popcorn in the air like confetti.”
I got off the couch when there was a knock at the door. My stomach growled as I thought of how great that cheese pizza was going to taste. I tipped the delivery guy before placing the giant pizza on the coffee table.
“I’ll get some plates and napkins,” I said as I walked into the kitchen. I hated eating from the box because it was too messy. When I returned to the living room, I shook my head.
Brysen had the box on his lap and was devouring a slice of pizza, dripping sauce everywhere.
“How does that extra sauce taste?” I asked in a dry tone.
“Mm really good,” he said with his mouthful.
Lord help me. I’m gonna murder him.
I took the box from his lap, placed it back on the table, and handed him a plate.
“God, you’re such a granny.” Brysen licked his fingers—instead of using the napkin I’d brought him—and grabbed another slice, slapping it down on his plate.
“And you’re the messiest roommate ever,” I retorted.
“But also the cutest,” he added with a wink.
“You have sauce in the corner of your mouth. And in your hair.” I cocked my head. “How in the hell did you get it there?”
“Just talented, I guess.”
When Royal appeared back on screen, he moved the section to world news and talked about a string of murders in bigger cities. I lost my appetite as I listened to the coverage. There was way too much tragedy in the world; mass shootings, terrorist attacks, devastating storms, murders, and car accidents.
I turned the channel.
“Hey,” Brysen said, trying to grab for the remote. “I was watching that.”
I held it out of his reach. “Yeah, well, I want to watch a movie.”
“Please notJurassic Worldagain. That’ll make, like, the millionth time this week.”
“Fourth, actually,” I corrected. “Don’t dis my dinosaurs.”
“You’rea dinosaur, Kye.”
As much as he complained, he still snuggled up beside me and watched the movie.
I tried not to think about my million and one worries. What if the company didn’t want me in the movie anymore? What if they still wanted me, but I made a complete ass out of myself in front of Declan Price during the filming?
“Are you going to cry when it shows the oldJurassic Parkcenter again?” Brysen asked before snickering.
I thumped him on the head. I was kind of a sap sometimes. That part of the movie always made me tear up.
Later that night, I was in bed scrolling on my laptop.
Declan had posted on his social media that he was excited to continue filming on the new movie. Some of it had already been filmed in a big studio, but the rest was being shot in Addersfield for location shooting.
From what I gathered, it was some cutesy romance where the main characters met at a small-town coffee shop. His co-star and love interest in the romantic comedy, Jennifer Parker, had gotten into town a few hours before, and he’d said he couldn’t wait to see her again.
There were rumors that they were dating, but neither had confirmed or denied.
I rolled my eyes.
