Page 175 of Conquered
Suddenly, Ash’s lips seal around my clit, sucking hard and then biting down, and with a cry, I explode once more, my whole body flushing hot then cold. My arms give way, and I collapse on top of Kai, his fingers releasing their grip. I’m panting and sweaty, my heart pounding as I lay my head on his damp stomach and relearn how to breathe.
I hear Ash’s deep rueful chuckle behind me. “Never thought I’d taste your cum, bro. It’s not that bad.”
Kai’s stomach moves with his own gruff laugh, and I lift my head to look up at him through heavy lids. There’s a wonderful sated look on his face, a smile gracing his lips as he looks down at me.
“I love you, Lilly Darling,” he murmurs, and the heat from the sun’s rays on my skin are nothing compared to how his words make me feel.
Delicious warmth floods my body, and I know that he’ll be okay. We’ve not lost him, and hopefully, he’ll feel comfortable enough to share whatever it is that’s bothering him soon.
“I love you, Kai Matthews,” I tell him back. “More than I knew was possible.”
We spend the next few days in utter bliss, playing and lounging on the beach, or in the crystal clear sea. We eat delicious food made by Mama Dewi until we’re fit to burst, and we make love as if there'll be no tomorrow. Well, apart from Ash who, although drives me wild with his fingers and tongue, won’t even tell me what his piercing is, let alone show me. I don’t hold it against him too much, seeing as he’s currently healing, but still, it’s a dick move, pun intended.
I know that it’s not all about sex, but it’s part of our bond, it’s how we heal and work through things. And I don’t care if people say it’s not healthy, screw them. Seriously, sex is a completely natural way to express your feelings for someone and to connect in the most primal way. Not to mention, orgasms are great for your health and wellbeing so...yeah. I’ll be carrying on, thank you very much.
I’m awoken in the middle of the night by the vibrating of my phone on the bedside table. Grumbling, I try to ignore it, but it starts up almost immediately again.
Untangling myself from the angel on one side of me, and the viking on the other, I scramble out of bed to grab the offending device, intending to hurl it out the window. Looking down at the flashing screen, I see it’s a British number, from London, I think.
My brows draw down as I contemplate for a moment who would be calling me from the U.K. with a number that I don’t know, but coming up blank, I decide to answer. If it’s a cold-call, they can pay the fucking extortionate overseas call rate.
“Hello?” I ask, voice low and croaky, sitting down on the edge of the bed.
“Is that a Miss Lilly Darling?” a well spoken British male voice asks.
“Y–yes, I’m Lilly Darling. Who are you?” I query, sitting up straighter on the side of the bed, and blinking more sleep away whilst rubbing my eyes with my free hand.
I feel the rustle of bedsheets behind me, then a warmth presses against my back, and the comforting smell of vanilla washes over me. Leaning back into the embrace, Loki’s arms come around my naked body, and I tune back into what the man on the phone is saying, just in time to hear his reply.
“Firstly, can you please confirm your date of birth, and the address that you were living at until January of last year?” he enquires, and because I’m still half asleep, I give him the information.
“Thank goodness. You are one hard young lady to get hold of, Miss Darling,” he says with a rueful and relieved sounding chuckle. “I’m Richard Payne, from Payne & Sons Solicitors, in London.”
Confusion wraps around me like a foggy blanket. Why have solicitors in London been trying to get ahold of me?
“Oh...I wasn’t aware of any solicitors trying to get ahold of me?” I say aloud, wondering why my uncle has never mentioned it.Perhaps he doesn’t know?
“Well, we’ve been trying to reach you since January of last year, but with no forwarding address, it’s been quite a challenge. Especially as your mother was most insistent that only you were to know that we were even looking for you.”
“My mother?” I question, my brows lowering even further and my heart rate picking up. Loki pulls me closer so that my entire back is touching his front, as if he can sense that I need comfort.
The bed dips next to me, and my hand is taken into a huge one. I look up to see Jax sitting next to me, a look of confusion over his face too. Both guys don’t say anything, just lend me their strength and support, letting me know that they’re here if I need them.
“Yes, I’m calling about her will, as you are the sole beneficiary.”
I feel a wind rushing in my ears, and my hand tightens in Jax’s grip. Taking a deep shaking breath, the room comes back into focus.
“My mother’s will?” I ask, my voice quivering. Loki’s arms around me tighten, and Jax starts rubbing my knuckles in a soothing motion.
“Yes, her last will and testament. Would you be able to come to the office in London? We really need to verify your identity, and talk this through in person,” he asks. “I’m free tomorrow, anytime if that’s convenient?”
“Ummm...I’m not sure, I’m in Bali, but maybe…” I trail off, not quite knowing what to say, and looking to Jax. “Can you hold on a second, please?”
“Of course, Miss Darling,” he replies.
Bringing the phone away from my ear and looking down, I press the mute button on the screen.
“What is it, Baby Girl?” Jax questions when I look back up at him. He’s all washed out in shades of grey, the tattoos on his arm standing out in stark contrast in the predawn light.
