Page 71 of Breaking Sanity
“Enough, you,” Shadow points to Eagle. “Stay by that fucking door and text Wolf to let him know what’s going on. And you,” he’s pointing at me. “Get your ass on the bed and get some rest.”
“Make me dickhead,” I challenge.
“Oh shit,” Eagle whistles looking at his phone.
“You have till I get to one to get on that bed,” Shadow snaps.
“Five...”
“Four...” I say, keeping in place crossing my arms and popping my hip.
“Three...” He starts to stalk towards me.
“Two...” I giggle, getting in his face.
“One.”
Shadow grabs my waist and tosses me onto the bed. Shadow hops on as well pulling a chain with a padded cuff attached to one of the posts and grabs my ankle as I try to kick his face. He clasps it tight but not enough to cut off my circulation, then hovers above me.
“Asshole,” I mumble.
“You were given a fair warning. Now sleep,” he scowls.
“Good night, Baby.” I turn my head towards Eagle and his head lifts from his phone staring back. “Trust I’ll be having the naughtiest dreams about you.”
“Sleep Alley.” Eagle blows me a kiss.
There is a deep rumble coming from Shadow’s chest. I triumphantly smile to myself.
“Is there a problem?” I ask, cocking my eyebrow as I stare up at Shadow.
“Sleep,” he sounds like he is about to explode. “And I am the only one you will be dreaming of.”
“Hmm,” I tap my chin. “No, I am pretty sure it will be Baby Face over there or even… Gunner. No wait, Baron.” That strikes a nerve because he hops off the bed and stomps off to the bathroom.
“Hey Alley,” Eagle gets my attention while pocketing his phone. “As much fun as it is pushing his buttons with you, I advise you to keep their names off your sweet lips. He is already about to strangle Baron for carving into your skin and Gunner for slashing you up. Let’s not push him over the edge, yeah?”
“Are you advising that because of your boss,” I ask, scooting to the headboard.
“My boss?”
“Vaughn, you don’t want him to kill your fellow soldier because he tries to kill his satanic brothers?”
“Vaughn isn’t my boss. Quite frankly, I would love to put a bullet between his eyes but that doesn’t help our mission.”
“What mission? Who are you guys? Aren’t you with The Fallen?”
“No, we are not with them but that is a conversation for a later date. For now, get some rest and pick your battles especially with Gunner and mainly Baron. You belong to both of them, and they thrive on mind games. They will try to get in your head while they get in between your legs. They want to destroy you from the inside out. Plus, Gunner’s self-control only goes so far. He could snap if you aren’t careful.”
“What about Vaughn and Nik?”
“Don’t worry too much about Vaughn, he’s a vicious prick but Nik is a hot head and unstable. They are more physical than anything. Vaughn will take what you aren’t willing to give and break every bone in your body while doing it. You already have seen what he did to Annie. Push him but tread that line lightly. And just stay out of Nik’s orbit especially when he is with Baron.”
“How do you know all this?”
“Like I said, that is a conversation for a later date. Please get some rest, I am not sure what they’ll come up with.”
“Fine,” I grumble, getting under the grey duvet.
