Page 122 of Breaking Sanity

Now by no means do I feel sorry for adult Carson, but I do feel for kid Carson who had to kill his own mother just to save himself to be mind-fucked by a demon. From what I know, Carson’s biological mother happened to catch Melinda and the boys' burying bodies, so she fell prey to Melinda. His mom, Lucy, told him to kill her to save him from getting killed and he stabbed her to death with apocketknife she gave him for his 6th birthday. Honestly, a mercy would’ve been for them both to be dead. You learn a lot in solitary. Eagle told me all this while he guarded my door.

“Wow, she really fucked you up,” Gunner laughs but there is no humor to it. “Melinda never loved you and neither does Melanie. They both used you to get at us. Melinda used you to try and control me, brother. You did her bidding by spying on me and reporting back to her. You spied on them. YOU ARE THE FUCKING REASON I BLACK OUT!! SHE TRIED TO TAKE HER FROM ME AND YOU FUCKING HELPED TAKE BOTH OF THEM!!”

“I’m sorry brother. They were taking you away from us.”

“Carson, you stupid bastard,” Gunner sighs, fisting Mel’s hair and pulling her head back for Carson to see. “Mackenzie was telling me to help and save you. She cared for you, and I loved her. Em, well she had other motives but still I cared about her.”

“But you k-”

“Mackenzie didn’t deserve to die, but her life was mine and so was Emily’s. I stepped up and did what I had to. But you, Carson, are such a coward that you don’t get to do that. I will destroy your heart while I make sure Melanie’s stops beating.”

“Gun-” Vaughn tries to speak again.

“No one gag him, I want to hear as his heart shatters.” Gunner spits on his index and middle finger before ramming them into Mel’s empty eye socket. “This will help since it’s probably a little dry.”

Mel’s screams are still coming through as clear as day as Gunner lines her eye up with the strap on. We all watch as he slowly starts to push it into the socket. My horror grows as he picks up the pace and is shoving her head up and down it. Blood is pouring down the sex toy and pooling in Carson’s lap. It starts to drip on to the floor the further he shoves her down. Carson is screaming for Gunner to stop, but it does nothing to mask the loud crunching of Mel’s skull as he impales it deeper with each bob, and it’s all mixing with the humming sound of the drills. If I wasn’t paralyzed in fear, I’d be able to look away and cover my ears.

Her body is limp for the most part. Her lower half is moving in combating circles and there is a slight lift and fall on the tops of her shoulders from Gunner. Finally, the smashing of bone stops. Carson has started silently crying and I can see the full tip of the strap-on sticking out of the back of Mel’s head. Pieces of brain and skull slowly slide off back into the hole. What gets me is the piece of skull with hair and some flesh embedded to the top of the tip. I start to scream but it sounds like a dying cat without a voice box.

Gunner’s eyes shoot to me, and they are black again. Instead of shutting up, I only scream louder. My body is finally going into shock, and it shakes violently as Baron approaches.

“Alley, you need to breathe,” he says, leaning down to pick me up. I start to flail my limbs in hopes that he backs up but he does no such thing. He grabs my wrist, using them to bring me to a standing position before he throws me over his shoulder.

“He’s all yours,” Gunner says to Nik and Vaughn as he comes up behind Baron.

“No, no, put me fucking down,” I try to demand, but my voice is coming out as barely a whisper.

“Shh, Little Devil,” Gunner cups my cheek. “You’re safe now.”

“Fucking how,” I try to ask.

“Rest your voice,” Baron orders. “Close your eyes and sleep.”

“What the fuck?” I just start to laugh. “Just kill me.”

“I’m not killing you Little Devil. Ever.”

With that I stop and just stare at him. I honestly don’t know what to say to that.

We exit the large door at the top of the stairs, and I am thrusted out into the ice-cold night air. Baron drops me off his shoulder on to a hospital bed and he is cocooning me in blankets. Gunner and Baron load the bed into a white van along with two others. The doors slam shut and there is banging on the back wall.

The van starts to move as there is a sharp pinch in my neck. My vision starts to go dark with the last thing I see is soft mismatched eyes, one pure deep blue and the other a bright emerald green, boring a hole into what is left of my soul. “Animal I’ve Become” by Three Days Grace blares through the speakers as I slip into darkness.
