Story: The Love of Priest 2
She shot Cyro a playful side-eye, which he returned with his typical emotionless face. "Mrs. Justiceit is then," she shrugged with a laugh.
Together, she and Cyro trudged through the rain to the awaiting dark tinted SUV. He assisted her with getting in, allowing her to ease into the plush leather back seats. He shut the door before making his way back over to the jet to grab all her bags and belongings.
Glancing out the window, she tried her best to look past the dark skies and the rain that was coming down. The weather put her in a bad mood, and she didn't want to feel the urge to get on a flight back to Italy when she had just gotten to New York. With a heavy sigh, she withdrew her orbs from the window and set her attention on her phone. As she waited for Cyro to grab her bags, she sent a text to Priest. Because it was far later in Italy, shewasn't sure if he had called it a night or if he was still up doing God knows what. To stay on the safe side, she refrained from calling.
Britain:I landed. I appreciate you for arranging all of this. I love you.
Delivered 5:42 PM
Once all her bags were accounted for and packed into the SUV, Cyro got into the vehicle and pulled off. As requested by Priest, she would be staying at the penthouse. He had fully prepared Jazzy for her arrival. Jazzy would have been ecstatic if he had decided to join Britain on this trip back home since she was missing her brother, but she understood that because of the circumstances they were in, it just wouldn't be the safest thing to do. Having Britain back was enough for Jazzy right now. For a while, she felt like life had been changing more and more every day. Usually, she would be receptive to change, but at the moment, it didn't feel like it was changing for the better. Everyone was growing apart, and life was beginning to feel really lonely.
She hardly hung out with Taylor because she was so busy holding up the responsibilities Priest left behind for her. Plus, the little family she did have, like J'Ru and Kaymen, seemed to have locked into tunnel vision and only checked in when it pertained to work or her safety. Jazzy wasn't one to complain, but she sure did miss the old times. She was hoping that Britain being back for a little while would give her that sense of normality she had been craving for a minute.
Britain's phone vibrated in her grip with a text message. She unlocked her phone to read the message that had come from Priest.
Priest:
It's all good Gioia. I love you too. How was the flight? Good?
Received 6:02 PM
Britain:It was alright. I did feel a little sick mid-flight though. I slept the other half away.
Delivered 6:02 PM
Priest:
You alright? Need to come back so soon?
Received 6:04 PM
Britain:Oh you would love that wouldn't you?
Delivered 6:05 PM
Priest:
I would. It ain't the same without you here. How soon can I get you back?
Received 6:07 PM
A light smile etched her face as she read the text message over. She had to admit, she was having a bit of separation anxiety from being so far away from him, but she knew they needed the distance. Her smile digressed into a smirk as her fingers danced against the keyboard of her phone, typing a vague response to her fiancé.
Britain:Soon.
Delivered 6:10 PM
Priest:
Heard'ju
Received 6:11 PM
Knowing him as well as she did, she wouldn't have been surprised if he carelessly smacked his lips and scoffed when he rendered his response through text. Although she was just giving him a hard time through text, she was definitely serious about not having a fixed date of when she would be back to Italy. She didn't want to rush herself through anything. She really needed the time to reevaluate a few things without feeling the constantpressure of giving in to his wants just because she was in his presence and enjoyed his constant affection.
With a light sigh, she read over his text before deciding not to respond. For the remainder of the ride, she rested her eyes while leaning her head back against the headrest. Despite napping on the jet, she was still fairly tired since she could never find it within herself to be comfortable in the air.
Cyro neared the apartment building, and upon feeling the vehicle come to a smooth stop, Britain shook from her quick nap. She adjusted her head from the leaned back position she was in and sat up. Her orbs peered out the window and widened at the extreme amount of security measures that were being taken for her. The building was surrounded by security who observed each and every one who was exiting and entering the premises.
