Story: The Love of Priest 2

J'Ru followed with a sigh of his own as he ignored yet another call from Aja, only to ignore another call from Taylor immediately after. "Well, I think it'd be best if we hurried the fuck up.”

"I second that," Jeremy nodded with a smirk etched on his face.

He knew his daughter, and he also knew how much Priest loved her. If she got the chance to catch up to him, there was no chance Priest would be able to finish executing his plan.

Once everything was settled, the men exited Tasha's home, locking up behind themselves."Get back to my daughter, Priest. I'm not playing with you," Remy warned him as they said their goodbyes to each other.

Priest nodded his head. "No doubt. You got my word," Priest promised with his right hand over his heart.

Remy went ahead and took their soiled clothes over to his place to get rid of them. Cyro had returned with the new SUV to drive them to their next destination. The ride remained silent. Priest spent the time debating on whether he should answer any of Britain's continuous calls. He figured that she and the ladies were probably worried sick. Priest knew how much he hated that heavy feeling of fear and worry weighing down on him, so to alleviate some of that stress, he shot Britain a text.

Head to the penthouse. We'll be there soon. Love you.

Delivered 6:37 PM

Immediately the three bouncing dots came up on his screen, indicating that Britain’s thumbs were ferociously dancing across her keyboard to respond to him.

Gioia:

Love you too.

Received 6:37 PM

She knew better than to try to question him at that moment. This situation was too delicate to try to discuss over text. On top of that, Priest had the option of simply ignoring her, and that would’ve just worried her even more.He was glad that her response was simple and wasn't a full spill of how fucked up he was for not keeping in contact with her.Instantaneously, the back-to-back calls that were coming from Jadey and Taylor ceased once Priest assured Britain they were fine.Seeing that their phones were no longer going off, both Kaymen and J'Ru glanced in Priest's direction. Priest eyed them with a guilty look etched on his face. "I just saved y'all niggas. Be fucking grateful," he scoffed.

J'Ru laughed. "You're a fucking simp," he shamed him. Priest flipped him the finger, evoking laughter out of Kaymen as well.

For the duration of the drive, Priest refrained from checking anything from the news. At the moment, even he felt a bit lost by how fast things were going, but he had a plan and a purpose, and that was all that really mattered to him. It may have seemed as though with Leila being gone, he was no longer at an advantage, but he had thought things through so far ahead that he was at an even higher advantage. Priest was a calculated mastermind, and nothing could take that away from him.

They struggled to get through the tight traffic due to the high number of emergency personnel surrounding City Hall. Cyro came to a smooth stop in front of the run-down home Priest remembered inside and out. The last time he stopped by waswith Britain. In front of their SUV sat the flashy Lamborghini June pushed through the city with Leonard sitting comfortably in the passenger seat.

"We should blow theses niggas’ heads off," J'Ru scoffed as he clenched his strap in the pocket of his hoodie.

Priest nodded. "I second that, but Kay not on that," he said as he glanced over to Kaymen.

Kaymen shook his head. "We follow the plan. If they’re not willing to let us spare them, then we blow they fucking heads off,"he asserted.

"Bet," Priest agreed before opening the door and stepping out with the leather duffle bag clenched in his grip. The stacks of money stuffed inside weighed it down. Priest knew he was now singing a completely different tune when it came to reimbursing Leonard’s money, but he had to sacrifice shit for things to work out in his favor.

As his Balenciaga sneakers made contact with the cement, J'Ru and Kaymen exited the vehicle as well.Opposite them, Leonard and June made their way out of their vehicle. Priest could feel his jaw clench in anger. He couldn't stand even being a few feet away from Leonard. Everything about Leonard disgusted Priest. The fact that people thought the two were so much alike didn’t help. From the smug demeanor down to the dark eyes that many couldn't withstand, to everyone else, Priest was nothing but the person he was trying so hard not to be like. He never understood why God made him so similar to someone who didn't even appreciate his existence.Britain was really the only person who fought hard to separate the two, and Priest appreciated that immensely. She believed Priest was nothing like his father. He was a better man and had way more character and better morals.

Priest tossed the duffle toward Leonard and June. It fell to the ground with a thud. A smug smirk plastered Leonard's face.He and June glanced at each other before he signaled the okay for June to retrieve the bag. "Heard you broke your nutty-ass mother off with my money," Leonard throated out in his deep, raspy voice.

Not taking his attempt to get a rise out of him too deeply, Priest simply shrugged his shoulders. "Consider it reparations for you being a weak-ass nigga,"he spewed.

"C'mon, son. That's how you speak to your pops?" Leonard threw his head back in laughter, taunting Priest.

Before Priest could respond to Leonard's catty remark, J'Ru drew his gun from the waistband of his jeans. "Listen, he wanted to spare you, but I don't think we should let you and your bitch-ass brother live another day after what y'all pulled back at Remy’s crib," J'Ru gritted with his gun aimed right at Leonard's head.

"J'Ru, put it down," Kaymen ordered from behind him. J'Ru's anger always got the best of him. Their negotiations with niggas Priest tried to bury the hatchet with almost always ended in blood shed because J'Ru never really stuck to the plan. Priest could definitely understand the anger J'Ru had toward Leonard, but now wasn't the time.

"Fall back, Ru," Priest told him.

J'Ru held the gun up to Leonard's head for a moment longer before putting it down like Kaymen and Priest requested. Bloodshed wasn't the answer at the moment, and shockingly, J'Ru came to terms with that. It was taking everything in him to abide by their orders, but for Priest's sake, he did.J'Ru walked away, getting into the SUV alongside Cyro. He couldn't stand being in close proximity to Leonard and June for another second, so he watched Kaymen and Priest wrap up the hand off from the car.

Kaymen and Priest soon returned to the vehicle, glaring at J'Ru. "You gotta stop doing shit like that, Ru," Priest sighed as he leaned back in his seat.

J'Ru smacked his lips. "Sorry. Everybody ain't as forgiving as you and Kaymen. I'm the one who got shot by him," he scoffed in a distasteful manner.
