Story: The Love of Priest 2
"What?! It's better if you hear it from me than him when he walks off into the sunset with Aja," Jazzy scoffed as she folded her arms across her chest.
Taylor screwed up her face. "Aja?" she questioned. "Aja from high school Aja?"
Jazzy winced in regret. "Ouu, I said too much, didn't I?"
"Wait. You knew about her?" Taylor tilted her head to the side.
Jazzy scoffed. "Taylor, you got to be joking. They're still married!"she stressed to her.
"They had some whack-ass courthouse wedding and a cookout in the 'jects when they were eighteen," she recounted with a screwed-up face of her own.
Jazzy stifled her laughter, knowing Taylor really wasn't trying to be funny at the moment. "Tay, a marriage is a marriage no matter how whack it is."
Taylor gulped, trying her best to accept what Jazzy was saying. "So, is she back? Have you seen her?"
Jazzy shook her head. "I haven't seen her yet, but I'm sure I will," she clarified. "C'mon, Tay. Dinner for two. Who else does Ru take out for dinner besides his mother, you, me, and Priest?"
Jazzy knew she may have been coming off a bit harsh, but that was the only way she could get through to Taylor. J'Ru had the girl blind from saying all the right things, paying a few bills, and spoiling her rotten with designer pieces. Her girl hadto see past that for a moment. J'Ru was married, and if he was ever asked to make a choice, it would've been Aja without any hesitation. Before Taylor could respond to Jazzy, they both heard her stage name being announced over the music.
She saved face, discarding all the pain she was feeling. There was money to be made, and J'Ru's shortcomings weren't about to get in the way of that. "Kill it out there, Tay," Jazzy encouraged her with a light smile, hoping to cheer her up.
Taylor nodded. "Thank you." With that, she exited the locker room.
Jazzy exhaled a heavy breath, hating that she had to shake some sense into Taylor the way she did, but someone had to.
Remembering she had come to the club for more than Taylor's horrible love life, Jazzy averted her attention back to her phone.
Cameron:
I thought you weren't showing face at my club anymore. What brings you by?
Received 12:22 AM
Jazzlyn:Definitely not money. I made enough off you and your girls.
Delivered 12:46 AM
Cameron:
Work for me full time. You make your money and I make mine. I like seeing you around here even if you keep fronting like you don’t fuck with me for real.
Received 12:48 AM
Jazzy chuckled at the text. Now this is how you treat men!Others may have considered Jazzy toxic, but she really played the field like the men. If Taylor had taken some notes, she wouldn't have been blinded by J'Ru's lies and sweet nothings.
Jazzlyn:Sorry. I don't mix business and pleasure.
Delivered 12:49 AM
Cameron:
I expected that.
Received 12:50 AM
Jazzlyn:I'll meet you in your office.
