Story: The Love of Priest 2
The person J'Ru was referring to was none other than Cameron. There had been this turbulent back and forth going on between he and Jazzy, and she was trying really hard to shake him, but it always ended with them fucking. There weren’t any emotions involved—on Jazzy's end at least—but Cameron was making it clear in the streets that Jazzy was off limits to any other nigga. She wasn't feeling the fact he was claiming her out in public to everyone else, so she shut that down as quickly as he started it. They were on the outs as of now, so he was running her down like he always did, showering her with gifts and sending her insane amounts of money. She was pretty much through with Cameron and was sending his gifts and money back whenever she received them.
"He's nobody important," Jazzy said, shrugging it off.
"I need to give you the birds and the bees talk?" J'Ru raised his brow at her.
She threw her head back in laughter, overly amused by J'Ru trying to be a mature big brother to her. "Ru, get the fuck outta here."
"Shit, I'm just saying," he shrugged. "I was your parent too while you were growing up, but that nigga Priest ain't let me have a say-so in shit. Now that he's gone, I can really lay down the law.”
Jazzy smacked her lips, waving J'Ru off. "I'm grown, Ru. If I need help or a talk, I would just ask."
J'Ru nodded his head, satisfied with her answer. "I respect that."
"How are you and Taylor?" she asked with a smirk etched on her face.
He shook his head at the mention of Taylor. "There ain't no me and Taylor," he clarified.
He didn't know who told Taylor that his wife Aja was back home from her deployment before he did, but whoever did had him dropped by Taylor quicker than he could come up with a plan to keep both of the women he loved. Taylor meant something to him, and he hated that they fell out the way they did, but he had to be honest with himself. If he had to choose between Taylor and Aja, the choice would always be Aja.
What people didn't understand was that he never really stepped out on Aja at all. The terms of their marriage allowed them to have other love interests while they were apart. Aja even knew about Taylor at one point. However, when Aja no longer wanted to have an open relationship, J'Ru failed to cut ties with Taylor due to how quickly they bonded and how tough they rocked with each other. J'Ru even faded out of Taylor's life for a good year to focus on his marriage, but Taylor always managed to draw him back in. He knew her vibe was immaculate, but since Aja had come home, he hadn't been tempted to reach outto Taylor at all. That let him know that he only yearned for Taylor to fill a void left by Aja.
"So, I'm guessing you and Aja are great?" Jazzy raised her brows.
"I kept it real with Aja. Of course, she was pissed. She knocked my ass out a few times too, but she forgave me," he explained with a light smile on his face. Aja made J'Ru feel just like Britain made Priest feel. Their relationship wasn't the easiest to understand, but that didn't matter.
"You should upgrade her ring for the inconvenience," she suggested with a chuckle as she took the sandwiches off the counter once Carlito finished wrapping them up.
J'Ru paid for their food along with their drinks before returning to the conversation with Jazzy. "Taylor wasn't no inconvenience, though. I really had love for shorty. She's a real one, but the situation is complicated and my heart gonna always belong to Aja."
"Well, you leave me with no other choice but to put my friend on with a nigga who looks better and has way more money than you," Jazzy shrugged jokingly with a sigh.
Arrogantly, he smacked his lips and waved her off. "I wish her well, but it's gonna be a hell of a long journey for her to find that nigga."
Jazzy laughed at how full of himself J'Ru was. Taylor was destined to find better. She was a beautiful woman who brought a lot to the table. Jazzlyn couldn't wait for her best friend to find this better man and have J'Ru looking sick in the process.
The two shared a quick breakfast in the Porsche before J'Ru got a call from Aja to come back home. "I gotta get back to Aja. Call me if you need anything."
Jazzlyn assured him with a nod of her head. "Be safe," she told him.
"‘Preciate it, little sis," he smiled at her as he exited the vehicle and headed to his. Once he was in his car, Jazzy pulled off and headed in the direction of the penthouse. She hadn't been doing much of anything these days besides handling everything Priest left her responsible for. Her social life was nonexistent now that Taylor was no longer dancing at Club Sapphire. She mostly kept to herself, spending whatever free time she had making sketches and creating sample pieces for her future clothing line.
As she drove, she heard her phone sound off through the speakers of the car. A deep sigh drifted out of her as she read the name that flashed across the display screen of the Porsche.Cameron.
Answering the call, she rolled eyes. "What do you want, Cameron?"
He could hear how uninterested she was through her voice; however, he figured she couldn't have been that uninterested if she decided to answer the call. Jazzy was the queen of not answering her phone, so he knew he had a chance if he had her on the phone right now.
"Let me stop by," he requested.
Jazzy smacked her lips. "Cameron, stop the bullshit."
"Aight. Pull up on me. I want to apologize," he proposed, hoping that Jazzlyn would accept his invitation.
All she did was roll her eyes instead. "You want to apologize for running your mouth to your whack-ass niggas like a bitch? Or do you want to apologize for overstepping and trying to check me like you were my man?" she asked him.
"You coming or not?" she asked, completely disregarding her question.
"I'm not," she clarified before hanging the phone up.
"He's nobody important," Jazzy said, shrugging it off.
