Story: The Love of Priest 2
Brixton stepped in, comforting his older sister. He always tried to stay clear of the issues whenever his mother and sister weren't seeing eye to eye, but in this instance, he couldn't. Britain needed a strong family unit more than anything right now, so Seven not showing up gave him a clear judgment of his mother's character. "You'll be alright, kid. Just make sure you don't sign a prenup." He pulled his sister into a hug.
Through her tears, Britain laughed, nudging her brother slightly. "You suck at consoling people."
"I'm just fucking with you," Brixton chuckled as the two parted from their hug. "Be safe out there. I'll call from time to time to make sure you still alive and whatnot," he shrugged jokingly.
"Love you, Brix," Britain nodded, pulling her brother in for one more hug.
“Love you too, Mocha,” he replied as he sat a kiss on the top of her head.
Glancing over her shoulder at Priest, she noticed the light head nod he gave her, which indicated that it was now time forthem to go.She exhaled a deep sigh before nodding to him in response. Finding the strength, she managed to let out a final goodbye before she returned to Priest. Hand in hand with each other, the two were ushered onto the jet as their family wished them a farewell.
A FEW HOURS LATER
IN-FLIGHT
Britain fell at ease with the feeling of Priest kneading the pads of his thumbs into the soles of her feet. He wanted to cater to her every need because of how bad she felt about Seven not saying goodbye. She wanted to put her best foot forward so she wouldn't bring any negativity into Italy. The last thing she ever wanted was to be so consumed with sadness that she didn't get the chance to take in Italy as a whole.
"Take a nap or something. You didn't sleep much last night," Priest suggested.
Britain shook her head as she rolled the shade up so she could look out the window of the jet. The clouds that cluttered the sky surrounded them, instantly relaxing her. "I'm not tired," she told him.
"Why are you so quiet then?" He raised a brow. "I thought I would have to deal with you running your mouth the entire flight," he teased her.
Britain laughed as she grabbed her neck pillow, tossing it right at his face. "You're such an asshole," she shamed him with a shake of her head. "I'm just thinking."
Priest continued to massage her feet, watching her decompress and unfold. She had been tense for some time now with everything going on and moving so quickly. He was bored out of his mind on the flight, but she was enjoying every minuteof it. It felt good to be completely still and quiet. She got the chance to bask in her own thoughts and justbreathe.
"What's on your mind?" Priest asked in a light voice, causing an endearing smile to spread across Britain's beautiful face.
She tucked some of her hair behind her ear before shrugging. "I just feel like maybe this was for the better.”
Priest’s eyes widened and mouth hung open in shock. She had shut him down about Italy before, so he automatically assumed she wouldn't be much of a fan of the move; however, Britain was showing him otherwise. She really wanted to start fresh with a clean canvas. "Word?" He raised his brow again for more clarification.
Britain nodded as Priest continued to fawn over her infectious smile. Sliding her feet from his lap, she rose from her seat to make her way over to him. Easing down onto his lap, she applied a light kiss onto his lips.
"I see the way you light up whenever you talk about everything you plan on doing once we get settled. Seeing you so filled with joy makes me happy," she explained to Priest.
A chuckle rolled out of him. It wasn't often that Britain would tell him that he was radiating in positive energy. He was usually really chill and balanced with his emotions. Things seemed different now, though. Even when he was dealing with the physical pains of being shot, he still spoke with so much relief and hope for their future in Italy. "That's nice and all, but what about you?" He lightly tapped her nose with his finger.
Britain's smile digressed as she exhaled a deep sigh. "I don't know," she said with a shrug of her shoulders. "Am I crazy for feeling like I didn't get her permission to leave? I feel like a bad-ass teenager who ran off with her boyfriend."
A laugh aired out of Priest. "It does sound crazy, but I understand," he admitted. "This is out of the ordinary, and I'm sure she's expressed her concerns, whether you told me or not."
Britain pursed her lips in guilt. Seven had expressed far more than just her concerns. She disapproved of Priest's lifestyle and her decision to go to Italy alongside him. Seven's concerns surpassed what she considered Britain's horrible decision making. She was worried about how financially dependent on Priest Britain would have to be, how alone she would feel, and she even warned Britain of how disappointed she would be with herself if she had yet another failed relationship that she invested so much into. Seven didn't think Priest was a bad guy. She just felt like he had a ton of baggage to sort out before isolating Britain and himself in Italy.
"You don't have to tell me anything she said because I completely understand. This is not a typical relationship. We moved a lot faster than expected, and we're doing things that are just unfathomable to others. She has the right to express however she feels about the situation," Priest assured Britain. He never wanted her to feel like she had traded on her family to be on the opposing end. He was more than comfortable with not being approved of or even liked. All that mattered to him was that he and Britain were on the same page.
"Sometimes I think you're too perfect," Britain mumbled as she rested her head on his shoulder.
Priest chuckled as he comforted her by rubbing his hand gently over her back. "I feel the same way about you too,Gioia."
Eventually, Britain ended up falling asleep in his arms. He fought through his pain, lifting her up bridal style to lay her down on the bed in the back of the jet. He gazed down at her, his heart filled with so much love and adoration for her. Craning down, he kissed her cheek before exiting the sleeping quarters to return to his seat.
